I have similar works Great , but my buddy tells me the boxes get HOT, so get those lil electronic fans in IT and they will last longer, I have 50 ch. of Porn I never watch
I've seen more than one post about the box getting hot. Not sure how a box with surface mount technology running off a 12VDC power supply will ever get hot (other than your house being struck by lightning). Not to mention having a fan blowing on the external plastic/composite case is pretty much a wasted use of a fan. Devices that have fans pull the heat out of them not blow into them.

bkk6060 posted that his 1700 baht box allows him the watch any content he wants for free, "including Netflix, HBO, Showtime, blah, blah, blah" and now YOU say that is true.
So, maybe you can give me the name of any Android Box or any device that allows you to stream video directly from Netflix, HBO, Showtime or other subscription streaming service without being a paid subscriber.
USTV Now, allows you free access to only 5 US TV broadcasting services. You have to have a paid subscription to access the other 23 US providers. To stream live TV broadcasts from most US TV networks websites, first requires you to sign into your local TV providers account with your username and password. No provider account, no access.
I will be waiting for the name of the magic box that provides 100% free content.
It isn't "the box"; and, it's not magic. It does take some common sense plus a belief that it actually works to get it set up. Once you have an android box you then load either APKTime; or, Filelinked (or both) which in turn give you a pretty much inexhaustible list of apps like the ones I mentioned. Filelinked requires code(s); because, there are several contributors each containing apps they have copied/created. Not all are the same. Nearly all of them have the apps I mentioned in the earlier post. The codes can be found by simply typing "filelinked codes" into google. Most android box users have it customized to their particular viewing preferences. Anyone having problems I am sure can create a post to get whatever issues they have resolved quickly. BTW, I'm not saying any of this is legal; but, it's out there. The world is full of hackers trying to outdo each other. Some have been shut down; but, have quickly been replaced, evidenced by the multiple contributors to Filelinked.

There is no TV box or stick that allows anyone free access to paid subscription services directly from programmers such as Netflix, HBO, Showtime or blah blah blah and neither will your box. Your box only gives you access to the same content that is available to every internet user.
I'd say that unless you have an android box your "blah blah blah" remark is just that. Get an android box, load the proper apps on it; and, you'll see that most of what you profess to be unavailable is actually there. TVTAP Firestick Pro has HBO, HBO Family, HBO Zone, Showtime; and, Showtime 2. The USTV app has additional offerings of those as well. The shows/movies on Netflix can be found on other Apps such as Cinema HD, Titanium TV, Tea TV.Nova TV; and, many others. Everything bkk6060 said is true.

It's not just retired high ranking officers who live in on-base housing (more like old townhouses). Wing 21 in Ubon has retired NCO's living in housing across from the golf course. Certainly not mansions; but, subsidised/free housing is a significant benefit to a retiree, evidenced by the expensive vehicles parked in front of those homes.

I'm thinking a lot of people are lucky his weapon(s) of choice were guns. I'm sure there were things readily available that could have done a lot more damage; especially, in a mall full of people.

If everything we read, watch; and, hear didn't look like a photo op by these officials they might be taken more serious.

Jaimuay Sae-ing, 73, was interviewed on the Palang Pracharat Facebook page. The political party has strong links to the government.
The most revealing fact in this whole article. That combined with a lead-in mimicking the P.M. "Don't worry about coronavirus" tells you the government will stop at nothing to put a positive political spin on a very serious medical situation. It's also pretty revealing that this lady was treated 50 kilometers outside of Bangkok. That sure does sound like a "get her to a remote area just in case" scenario to me.

Hmmmm, I thought “91” fuel was actually the same as E10 and that 95 had no alcohol. What say you all?
91 is/was a blended fuel. Before all the "ahol" additives came out it was a blend of the lowest grade fuel 87/89; and, the higher grade 95. That blending can be done directly inside the gas pump/dispenser. Generally a 60/40 blend. Some companies blend at the refinery which I am sure is done in the case of the newer fuels. FYI there is a difference between pumps; and, dispensers. A gas pump has a pump built into it; whereas, a dispenser is used with a pump submersed directly into the underground fuel tanks. That blending is an option that can ordered as an add on to either one.

This has to be totally untrue; because, the PM just said it was under control. Everyone knows his word is truth.

Time to be worried folk, if Prayut says it is 100% under control, once again his is bul++iting.
Why does he make stupid comments like that, as he knows like everybody else it is not under control.
100% agree. Anytime someone tells you everything is ok, it's time to start worrying.

A Lt Col is the deputy national police chief? Really????

Having a menu in English; or, even better with pictures might be a worthwhile endeavor. Pointing to a number/picture will solve pretty much any language barrier.

I would say for the most of us as we get older the slower pace of rural living works best. Having said that, there is definitely a misconception that rural living in Thailand (especially living in Issan) is slow paced to the point of boredom. All you have to do is leave your house; and, get in your car to confirm that. Issan is the main training facility for all the bad drivers in urban Thailand. My Scottish friend has rightly named it the land of Moby's. They are everywhere.

Not sure why anyone would think the death penalty would ever have time to be carried out. Unless he gets put into solitary confinement, I seriously doubt he will last a day no matter where he is locked up.

Reality check. You need to stop complaining about losing 300 baht of the hundreds of thousands of baht you are making per month off those same people you are ripping off with your jacked up prices. Who is the real thief in this story?

It's kind of funny that the land of ingenuity with the ability to copy pretty much anything in the world can't figure out what to do without plastic bags.

If you haven't dealt with lawyers in Thailand before you need to be aware that they will tell you damn near anything to string you along just to make money. I'm pretty sure you are well aware that money talks in Thailand. The sale/purchase price tells you these people are rich (buyer and seller); and, I am sure well connected. I believe you are correct in your initial assessment that you are in for a long drawn out process. I would definitely make sure any legal action you take that fees are based on success. You are already out 800k no need to throw more money away.

I think if you have several transfers that show the 1st of the month the majority of times they will accept it.
Perhaps get a bank statement from the bank to make it easier for immigration to see rather than you bank book.
When I applied for my extension based upon marriage in August I had 2 payments in the August of 2018 due to September 3rd being labor day and they did not even mention it.
I did have a bank statement last year. The lady at Sisaket Immigration went thru that report line by line. That level of scrutinization makes me think it's going to be an issue come June when I try to renew my visa. I plan to ask the question before then. Hopefully, I will have the same outcome you did.

Based on a discussion after a round of golf today I realized that I will have to make a border run to extend my visa. I did an extension based on income last year. I have 2 direct deposits from the U.S. govt going directly into my account here. My military retirement (paid on the 1st of each month); and, my social security (paid on the 3rd). In the U.S. if the 1st day of the month falls on a weekend they pay on the Friday preceding that weekend. That means that there may be one or 2 times a year where 3 deposits are made in one month with the following month only having a single deposit. That wasn't a problem last year. My social security payment exceeded the 65k requirement. Nothing has changed as far as the amount being transferred into my Bkk bank account. What I did not realize (not too smart on my part) is with the nearly 5 baht drop in the exchange rate, that social security income has dropped just below the 65k required. The reason I am posting this is that it's pretty much a sure thing that immigration will not accept the fact that one of the 3 deposits made the previous month was actually deposited early; because, of the 1st day of the week/weekend pre-payment. I'm making a 90 day visit to immigration next week; and, will run it by them. Not holding my breathe.

"said hospital director Dr Chalermpong Sukhonthaphon half of all patients left without paying their bills"
If that is true you need to stick to what you do best; and, that is obviously not being a hospital director.

Well, based on about 1000 threads on Thai Visa about immigration I'd say your best bet is to try to find out who is helping him get his visa extensions. If his condition has deteriorated as you say then he should have problems getting his visa extended; especially, on his own.

Guess its time to move.
If you're renting that would be my solution as well. Of course a renter always has the option of talking to the landlord; because, they sure as hell do not want to lose their cash cow.

Your best option is to open a "Thai Bank" and deposit 800,000 baht in it and just call it "dead money" (ie do not touch).
As for retiring in Thailand it really does not matter where you stay as it is no longer a cheap place due to the strong baht.
Hospital costs are expensive too and same if not more than the USA!
Not sure where you got your info on hospital costs; but, I had a total knee replacement in Ubon. The total cost was 240k baht (about $7000 USD at the time 2 years ago), I had the other knee and both hips replaced in the US; and, every operation was a hell of a lot more than $7000. Closer to 10X that amount.
