  1. Yes, I have been many times.

Cost 200 baht includes towel and free ice water( refills included) and a locker.

    One good sized swimming pool.

2 dip pools for cooling off after sauna, one with ice, and one just cold.

    Exercise equipment.

2 saunas, I traditional Turkish steam sauna, , and a Finnish dry sauna, with rocks.

    Restaurant on site.

    Great place

    Enjoy

  2. No bang for the tourists buck in Phuket. I can drink cheaper in Canada <deleted>. ( except in certain bars of course)

You can only kick your dog(tourists) so many times, then they don't come back.

    Another case of thai greed.

  3. The only 2nd floor disco I know on WS is Marine, not that it matters. What an absolute disgrace that this happened inside a building away from public view, late at night, behind a black curtain, where prostitutes dance & ply their trade. Better to stick to the gogo bars if all you want is a quiet pint & a read of the paper.

incomnia is a second floor disco.
  4. The Russians are broke. As are the Americans, the Brits, the Chinese, and most everyone else. (Except for the Nordic nations).

Brits?...Im not skint and neither are many of the quality Brit tourists I know that visit Lalaland. No Sir, I think there are many and varied reasons why folk are not going there...kop some of NKMs sermons for the unfortunate low-down. Arh, the good old days... coffee1.gif

Thank you for the sense you made of the absolutely mindless quote Billy the hat made. Wow. What can you say. I know a lot of people in the U.S. with very serious cash. They simply choose not to come here. Many reasons. Sure, 92% of the population is hurting in the west. But, many are doing well. The Chinese have more money than ever, in recent history. The coup really hurt tourism. The continued rising prices here really hurts tourism. Incredibly dumb hotel owners raising prices when occupancy is down really hurts tourism. The lack of law and order here really hurts tourism. A nationalistic leader who puts his foot in his mouth daily really hurts tourism.
yes I agree, this was a mindless post. Patong has deeper ghosts to worry about.

No bang for your buck there, too many options for holidays now, without being beaten, robbed, scammed, etc. I will never be back to Phuket nor will my family from aus?

I love hearing the posts that the

Ace is dead, good for them, couldn't care less if they closed the airport.

  5. The Russians are broke. As are the Americans, the Brits, the Chinese, and most everyone else. (Except for the Nordic nations).

the American economy is doing rather well at the moment, and the Chinese have become the number 1 tourist in Thailand. But yes, the Russians are broke.
  6. I spent a day with a couple this winter in Chang Mai. They owned a dive shop in Phuket.

Moved from the UK to start the dream. They said it is now becoming a disaster. Very very few tourists anymore.

They left the business to travel.

  7. Girls that speak English will try to get 3000baht as most of them have returned from Thailand and are used to getting this amount.

As for white skinned girls, You need to go about 5km from the center of town on T4 road to find these, and you'll pay less than 1000baht. Just ask a tuk tuk to take you to T4.

you must be fat bald and old, I have never seen nor heard of such prices in Asia in 5 years.

It is a polite way of saying they don't want to go with you.

The Lao people are so much friendlier than Thais.

I have never seen scams or been offered drugs.

    I love the country

  8. If we come from Bangkok to Pattaya then we simply get a taxi from DMK straight to the hotel. Last time we came in November 2014 we took executive taxi [pictured]. Time before we rode a regular cab.

Depends on how flush I feel. The trip won't be broken with a ride on a baht bus. I'm not getting on a baht bus with all the luggage, that's for sure.

you seem to have things mixed up.

I don't know where you are arriving, but it certainly isn't the north bus station with a taxi like that.

I am there every week to pick up my gal. I have never seen anything like that there.

And I don't know what year some posters were paying 20 baht, but it most certainly is not in this decade.

Price is 50 baht now. For tourists.

  9. I flew from don mueang after Christmas, the day after the air Asia plane went down. I flew to cambodia.

I was thinking there would be a massive crackdown at security as they didnt know what happened to the plane.

Going thru security was nothing more than a joke. Security talking to each other, hardly looking at the X-ray machine.

Never even gave my gels and liquids a second look. I could have carried a 5 gallon pail on the plane.

Forgot scissors in my carryon, not a problem.

Just spoke with my gal, she flew to kon kaen yesterday, security was a joke she said.

I told her about the 100 ml max on the liquids, she laughed, no problem in Thailand, that is for the west.

Again , she travels with , and her friends with whatever they want, never a problem.

Thailands don mueang is a JOKE

  10. I just spent 2 days in Bangkok. From lower Suk to Thong Lor. Dead, dead, dead. One of our favorite wine bars in Thong Lor had only 3 people at 1 table. We normally see that place packed, especially in the early evening. The brew pub nearby was also almost empty.

Went for live music and normally it's tough finding a table. Got there at 8pm and the place was empty. Filled up a bit by midnight, but definitely not like before.

Walked around lower Suk and was amazed at how many bars had NO customers. Popped into one for a nam soda and the waitress said it was very slow.

Reasons? Poor global economy, less Russians, military rule, poor value for the money now...?????

It's just not good value for the money as it once was. Cambodia was slammed this year. Poor attitudes, military rule, beatings killings, bombings, why wouldn't people come to Thailand? Hehehe

They need a wake up call.

Good for them? They have had it too good for too long.

    Bring it on!!!!

My hometown in the west is now cheaper than bangkok, as far as drinking and dining on western food goes.

Why would I spend time there?

It looks like others feel the Same way!

  11. It seems to be the perfect storm at the moment, low currency's, martial law, high prices. It's not the bargain it once was. There simply aren't enough tourists to support the businesses. How many bars and restaurants Gogos etc can withstand this downturn??? I do my rounds of the Gogos and with the few customers frequenting these establishments, many are wondering how many are legitimate?( money laundering)???? And p4 p prices are now cheaper in Europe and elsewhere. But people continue to say that a gal is justified in asking a weeks wages for an hours work??(gogo) and the weekly beatings, mugging s, killings, etc dont do tourism any favour s.

No easy fixes here, but another low season will. Spell disaster for many many businesses.
