  1. Yes, it is true that some websites turn off copying their text. In Firefox, there is a fix: install this add-on: "Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/absolute-enable-right-click
  2. Trump's line that he had to introduce tariffs because of a national emergency was flat-out dishonest. Democratic governments are required to follow due process. There is no left-right about it.
  3. When religion doesn't work anymore, what is next in line? Conspiracies Religion has never worked. When religion gets the upper hand in a society, the result is invariably disastrous. The Dark Ages is an example. What happens when religion is discarded? An option is, evidence-based thinking (science). Prayers did nothing to help the millions afflicted with polio, smallpox, leprosy, diabetes etc. God could have clapped his hands and made them go away, but maybe he was busy with something more important... and, as a consequence, a great many people suffered. When the Enlightenment came, religion was exposed for the useless pack of lies that it is, and science was allowed to progress and benefit us greatly.
  4. You are making a joke, yes? Quoting some nonsense written by silly old men is in no way evidence. You SAY that what we see constitutes evidence. You SAY that the cause of what we see is god. SAYING is not evidence, is is worthless, fact-free assertion. The purpose of EVIDENCE (observations and measurements) is to conduct an evaluation that others may reproduce. There is no fact-based, peer-reviewed evaluation on the existence of god (funny, that), so why do you make such a ridiculous, evidence-free statement? Even for a religious person, what you put forward is especially silly.
  5. Sigh. Another poor individual who had their intellect pickled with the disease of religion when a small child. Do you have ANY supporting evidence for your assertions? Any FACTUAL reason for supposing a god exists? "It's what i was told when I was two" doesn't count. The bible is silly nonsense written by silly old men. That's why it's stuffed full of absurdities and ridiculous gibberish. Its purpose was to control the plebs. The only way the church can keep going is to indoctrinate small children. This is genuinely evil - it causes many people to be unable to think clearly. The faster the cancer of religion is eradicated, the better. Most people spend their entire lives creating out of a sinful heart and a corrupt mind their own image of God. Gibberish. There is no evidence for a god. None whatsoever.
  6. Psalm 137:9: Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. Yet again you are showing that you cannot understand the basics - a belief with supporting evidence is not in the same class as a belief with zero supporting evidence. You have to pretend they are the same, otherwise it would expose the nonsensical nature of your position. You are as right about god as you are about my "changing your usernames"... there is no evidence for either. I have not changed my username. You are absolutely correct: I dismiss assertions for which there is no evidence. Why have you repeatedly avoided the malaria subject? Because it exposes your position as untenable, yes? Over and over and over again you have had to avoid the fact - you have nothing to support your case other than "I believe". Feeble.
  7. Au contraire! Religion and a "personal relationship with God" ARE the same thing - they are each the product of the corruption of the intellects of small children. This is a dreadful thing to do. You want to quibble about a few trivial details, while you are forced to ignore the elephant in the room - there is no case whatsoever in favour of "a god exists". All you can do is say "I believe". Pitiful. As a "personal believer", you operate under the delusion that you are being wise and selective in choosing the bits that you like out of the plagiarised nonsense that comprise the bible. Blasphemy! Since when are you the arbiter of the bible's authenticity? There was a time when you would have been put to death for that. As I said before, malaria kills about a million infants a year. God could fix that in a jiffy. He hasn't. Therefore: - god likes killing small children, or - god has stuffed up, or - there is no god Like all the other fact-free god-toadies, you want to hide behind an absurd "it's god's plan". Really? Tell me more about this plan. Explain to me how it's good/wise/beneficial to kill millions of infants and cause untold harm and distress. Bertrand Russell: "I should think his ethics highly-suspect, and should most certainly not think him worthy of worship." Confess! "I was fed a load of nonsense as a small child, and as a consequence, I have a lot of irrational points of view. To repair that would be a big job, and I'm not up to it right now."
  8. Wow!! Let me get this straight. The only thing necessary is your own personal relationship with God then you say: I'm not "religious" And you expect to be taken seriously!! I'm thinking it's you that needs to learn a few things, but seeing a few of us tried to explain them, and you dismissed them... All I want is supporting evidence for an intellectual position. When will you provide some? I haven't made any errors. Says the guy who believes in magic apples and talking snakes, and thinks the universe was made in seven days. BWAHAHAHA!
  9. we as believers go by faith... We don't need evidence... Congratulations! You have finally got to the point. Rational, post-Enlightenment people base their views on an evaluation of evidence. You don't. You can't afford to; your position would be exposed as stupid and untenable if you had to provide a factual basis for it. Bertrand Russell: "Faith: The name given for a belief for which there is no evidence" You don't believe, your deal. I believe, my deal. Do you still not get this basic concept? You are correct. The error you are making, over and over again, is that of false equivalence. I am a believer in evolution. The supporting evidence is beyond overwhelming. There are believers in creationism. There is no supporting evidence for this. For you to say "my belief, your belief" ignores the elephant in the room: supporting evidence. Suppose I were to tell my friends that I was a believer in numerology, for which there is zero evidence. "I believe, my deal", yes? No, they would rush me to a hospital. But when you waffle away about gods and the afterlife, you think you should be taken seriously. Beyond bizarre. You can't prove there isn't a God. I repeat, yet again, proving negatives is not possible. "Prove there isn't a magic dragon flying around Alpha Centauri". As you see, 'proving negatives' is ridiculous. Even though you are religious, it still could be possible for you to learn simple facts. So start with that one.
  10. Even for a christian, you make an enormous number of errors in thinking. Over and over again you talk about "proving there isn't a god". Over and over again, I tell you that "disproving a negative" was dealt with in 1930 (Karl Popper). Why do you keep making the same blunder? As well, you have a ridiculous notion of what constitutes a valid belief. If the topic is important, we require supporting evidence. Einstein was ridiculed by the uneducated in 1905... he asserted that time could move at varying rates for different observers! How ridiculous! But, Einstein's assertions tested, measured and verified around the world. People changed their minds based upon an evaluation of facts. There are no facts to evaluate, regarding the existence of gods. You are making another blunder - false equivalence. Belief in the existence of gods requires supporting evidence, not an empty assertion of a belief. A fact-free belief is worthless. You assume I and others had our thinking process screwed up. Damn right. You can't even get the basics of clear thinking correct. You can't afford to - the absurdity of your position would be beyond obvious. You were told some bull<deleted> when you were small, and you lack the intellectual skills to discard it and move on. Preying on small children, and ruining their intellectual skills, is criminal, You are a victim of this process.
  11. Double-WOW!! Your gross errors: - you keep mentioning "proof there isn't a god". I keep repeating - "evidence", not proof, and it is up to the asserter to provide supporting evidence; it is not up to others to do the work. As well, I told you that "proving a not" was debunked in 1930. Why do you keep making the same silly mistakes? - you keep making the same mistake - thinking that you have "free will" and are "making your mind up", when you had your thinking processes scrambled when you were a small child. i repeat, if you had been told about invisible magic dragons at that age, that is what you would be going on about now. But of course, you had to ignore that. - people who were brainwashed as small children are not "choosing their beliefs". That is what is truly evil about religion - targeting the defenceless. You are an example of this horrible process.
  12. There are billions of people in the world. Probability dictates that we will find outliers. Failing supporting evidence, leave the outliers to their fantasies. Some people had mystical experiences. Therefore there is a god. Hmmm....
  13. I was, again, for the 6th time, taught about God when I was young, along with other things. I later grew up and made my own choices. I was raised a Catholic, and went to catholic school for 8 years, not being brainwashed, like others assume, but taught all about God... so I then called myself a Christian, following Jesus' guidance and word, again of my own free will. Wow!! You really are unable to follow simple statements! Once again, it is the brainwashing that deprived you of free will. There is no case for magic apples and talking snakes and stars being made before the earth. You can waffle away to the contrary for all eternity, but you can never make a case for a god. You cannot see how silly your position is. That is what brainwashing small children does. You are a victim of this process.
  14. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6707356/ https://www.mdpi.com/2077-1444/15/5/537 https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychiatry/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2023.1077311/full https://psychedelics.berkeley.edu/religion-spirituality/
  15. Yep, you are at it again - religion has made you unable to think clearly. If a person is brainwashed as a small child, there is a good chance they CANNOT exercise free will regarding a particular topic. You are an example. Suppose, when you were two, instead of silly nonsense about talking snakes and magic apples, you were told all about invisible dragons that fly above us. If that had happened, you would know be telling us about "free will" and "choose to believe" regarding dragons. In that case, as now, you would be unable to see that it is the dreadful hijacking of small children's' minds that allows religion to continue. It has no basis in reality. Brainwashing small children is wrong. Don't do it. Don't condone it. Don't pretend it has anything to do with choice or free will.
  16. Are you seriously saying you can read that list and keep believing in a god? Are you seeing a psychiatrist?
  17. Empty statements, free of reproducible observations or measurements, do not constitute evidence. More specifically: - it would be weird to place much value on what comes from a mind that is in the process of shutting up shop - many of the "mystic" texts have been shown to have come from hallucinogenics - some people are mentally-ill, and see/hear things that are not there. Jesus is an example - an itinerant schizophrenic who only woke up when on the cross - "My Lord, why hast thou forsaken me?" Because gods don't exist.
  18. Just imagine, there are some people who think the bible is not a complete crock. BWAHAHAHA!! https://www.buzzfeed.com/tomchivers/call-me-bald-again-i-double-dare-you
  19. There is no doubt that religion has made it impossible for for you to think clearly. All very sad, but the church needs people like you, to make more people like you. Ignorance breeds ignorance. I will say it AGAIN: If a person puts forward a conjecture, it is up to them to provide supporting evidence (NOT proof, which is very hard to come by). It is NOT up to others to do the work. There is NO evidence in favour of a god, the afterlife etc. Religion pre-dates logic; it's just an ancient power-play designed to keep control of the plebs. The extent to which you are unable to approach this subject rationally can seen in the fact that, when some of the gibberish of the bible is listed (earth made before stars etc) you don't say, "Well, such a text is stupid beyond words. I will give it up". No, you tie yourself up in knots, desperately clinging on to silly nonsense you were told when you were two. Pathetic.
  20. When will people grow up and tire of this ridiculous, fact-free gibberish? https://lifelessons.co/spirituality/bible/
  21. A great many small children are told that there is a Santa Claus. They believe it. Some time later, they are told it was all a story, a bit of a joke, and there is no Santa Claus. They stop believing it. All that has to happen to eradicate the damaging disease of religion to die out, is for parents to tell their children it's all a complete fact-free fiction. No, we won't spend trillions of years in paradise (and by what means will that not be hellishly boring?) No, the earth was not created in 4004 BC No, the earth does not pre-date all stars No, all animals did not crowd into a small boat It's all just silly plagiarised nonsense from silly old men.
  22. Very mistaken. What is taught to small children can be very difficult to unlearn. Not impossible, of course... many do indeed walk away from the nonsense of religion. But to say, of early childhood propaganda, that all people can decide for themselves shows a deep lack of understanding of how the mind works. Far too often, it takes root in the brain, and is immune to the cleansing process provided by reason.
  23. You're at it again. Most think we will see God, that there's a heaven. BS. Fact free assertion. No one can prove otherwise... You don't get it. If I say. "There are aliens living at the centre of the moon", it's up to me to supply supporting evidence; it is not up to anyone to show that it is false.. That one cannot prove a negative was shown by Karl Popper in 1930. - Prove that blue elephants exist. That is easily done - produce one. - Prove that blue elephants do not exist. Can't be done. ...so it's best not to argue the subject. Rubbish. Now and then, the facts will sink in, and someone will walk away from the lies and nonsense, and start thinking for themselves. And your evasion of my "malaria" argument is what religious people are good at - intellectual dishonesty. You turned it into talk about mosquitos, and later falsely claimed to have not ignored it. To repeat: Malaria kills about a million infants a year. The infants cannot have knowingly sinned. Now, god could, by his fiat, make malaria harmless. He does not do so. The only rational conclusion is that he wishes to slaughter millions of infants. He is, by definition, the world''s greatest serial-killer. To be fair, there is another possibility - god is a bumbler who stuffed things up bigtime So which one is it? - god wishes to slaughter infants - god doesn't know what he is doing - there is no god
  24. You are right - religion was a useful tool for control, as well as being an explanation for adverse events - why did my crops fail, etc. That otherwise-intelligent people cannot discard such absurd waffle is tribute to the power of brainwashing small children. Controlling education allows the Church two important things: - a source of compliant suckers - a source of children to molest and bully Imagine if religion were taught in later school, alongside physics and chemistry. Virgin births! Parting of seas! The earth was created before the sun! The kids would laugh themselves sick.
  25. Gibberish. Why are you making straw-man arguments? - that we all die has no bearing on anything - no sane person plans on living forever - what lunatic says there has to be a god because this world is flawed? Irrational You lack the ability to scrub the whiteboard clean and start from scratch. You want to hold on to absurd waffle because you find it pleasing, not for any sound reason. That's why you had no choice but to ignore the "malaria" argument. It is a rock-solid refutation of a decent god. Either he doesn't exist, or he is a deranged serial-killer. No getting out of that one, is there?
