  1. You're at it again. Most think we will see God, that there's a heaven. BS. Fact free assertion. No one can prove otherwise... You don't get it. If I say. "There are aliens living at the centre of the moon", it's up to me to supply supporting evidence; it is not up to anyone to show that it is false.. That one cannot prove a negative was shown by Karl Popper in 1930. - Prove that blue elephants exist. That is easily done - produce one. - Prove that blue elephants do not exist. Can't be done. ...so it's best not to argue the subject. Rubbish. Now and then, the facts will sink in, and someone will walk away from the lies and nonsense, and start thinking for themselves. And your evasion of my "malaria" argument is what religious people are good at - intellectual dishonesty. You turned it into talk about mosquitos, and later falsely claimed to have not ignored it. To repeat: Malaria kills about a million infants a year. The infants cannot have knowingly sinned. Now, god could, by his fiat, make malaria harmless. He does not do so. The only rational conclusion is that he wishes to slaughter millions of infants. He is, by definition, the world''s greatest serial-killer. To be fair, there is another possibility - god is a bumbler who stuffed things up bigtime So which one is it? - god wishes to slaughter infants - god doesn't know what he is doing - there is no god
  2. You are right - religion was a useful tool for control, as well as being an explanation for adverse events - why did my crops fail, etc. That otherwise-intelligent people cannot discard such absurd waffle is tribute to the power of brainwashing small children. Controlling education allows the Church two important things: - a source of compliant suckers - a source of children to molest and bully Imagine if religion were taught in later school, alongside physics and chemistry. Virgin births! Parting of seas! The earth was created before the sun! The kids would laugh themselves sick.
  3. Gibberish. Why are you making straw-man arguments? - that we all die has no bearing on anything - no sane person plans on living forever - what lunatic says there has to be a god because this world is flawed? Irrational You lack the ability to scrub the whiteboard clean and start from scratch. You want to hold on to absurd waffle because you find it pleasing, not for any sound reason. That's why you had no choice but to ignore the "malaria" argument. It is a rock-solid refutation of a decent god. Either he doesn't exist, or he is a deranged serial-killer. No getting out of that one, is there?
  4. Incredible how you go around in circles, refusing to step back and evaluate the evidence. There is as much evidence for damnation as there is for a god - zero. Why do you insist in clutching on to nonsensical, fact-free opinions? Here is an example of the stupidity of religion: Malaria kills about a million infants a year. The infants cannot have knowingly sinned. Now, god could, by his fiat, make malaria harmless. He does not do so. The only rational conclusion is that he wishes to slaughter millions of infants. He is, by definition, the world''s greatest serial-killer. In a sane world. people would say, "Well, such a god is a vile entity; I will have nothing to do with nonsense like that". But they don't, because they have been brainwashed as small children and cannot think clearly. Meanwhile, you maintain that missionaries save lives by telling idiotic stories! Wow.
  5. "Everyone has the same God" What sort of fantasy-land do you live in?
  6. Rubbish. That the Catholic Church has willfully and knowingly engaged in many thousands of instances of cover-ups of paedophilia and child abuse is hard fact. Example: When i lived in NY (around 2000-2005) the police attempted to investigate many paedophile priests. The local church authorities went palms-up... those priests had left! Couldn't be found! Then the truth came out... the Canadian paedophiles were being moved to the US, and the American paedophiles were being moved to Canada. All official, organised cover-ups. Example: my mother (an atheist, of course - she had a brain) went to a convent. In 1942, the nuns bashed a girl to death. All covered-up, no prosecutions. After all, what are friends for?

  8. In the absence of sufficient supporting evidence, *suspend judgement*. Unfashionable, but it's the right way to go. This "faith" stuff is total bs, and very damaging.
  9. Bertrand Russell: "Faith. The name given to a belief for which there is no evidence". Meanwhile, the Catholic Church is the largest, longest-running and most successful paedophile organisation. How anyone can support them is beyond me.
  10. That is "The Argument of First Cause", which was debunked over 300 years ago. Are you really saying that an entity with incredible powers must be the cause of the universe? So, what is the cause of that astounding entity? If you hadn't had your brains pickled by religious lunatics, you would see the irrationality your position
  11. That is not how science works. The onus is upon the submitter of a hypothesis to provide a case. There are an infinite number of entities that can be put into words - blue elephants at the centre of the moon etc, but no sane person concerns themselves with evidence for such things. If we had just one generation where small children did not have their brains poisoned, religion would die out.
  12. An individual's likes, dislikes and preferences have no bearing on the fact that there is not a scrap of hard evidence in favour of "a god, and/or an afterlife exist". People believe in such fact-free nonsense because they were brainwashed at an early age. The damage that such gibberish does is monumental.
  13. My TGF (Thai citizen and resident) has a well-paying professional job, and (like many others) is concerned about how to safely invest her savings. My opinion is that the share market is too volatile at the moment; she is looking for other options that pay a useful return. An example is a Thai REIT. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.
  14. If you go to the food court in Central (basement) and walk in the direction of 2nd Rd, you will see a tiny Khao Soi stall on the right hand side.
  15. You are aware that Fox News is a dishonest "news" outlet, aren't you? FN testified in a court of law that they do not employ fact-checkers, and their aim is to provide entertainment and not fact-based news. The purpose of FN is to fool people into voting for legislators who will benefit the wealthy. That is why Trump's only effective legislation was lower tax cuts for the wealthy. Do yourself a favour - move away from the lies FN puts out.
  16. No. Just get a Bolt. If that's not on your phone, download it.
  17. So take a photo of him... follow him for a while. See how he likes it.
  18. Is Rapamycin available in Pattaya, from medical clinics or hospitals? Is a prescription necessary? It's not for transplant rejection, but to inhibit mTOR.
  19. I visited the jail just north of Pattaya a couple of years ago. I gave the authorities maybe 10 books (novels) and a pile of magazines - New Scientist and Economist. Maybe they will fill in some time for some of the inmates.
  20. Look up: prostate cancer nanoknife

  22. I do not know for sure, but I am confident there are quite a few... foolishness, stupidity, dishonesty, bad luck, unfair mistakes etc all add up to many poor buggers being stuck in there. Given the size of the Pattaya tourist crowd, surely quite a few are from the US/UK/AU/NZ etc.
  23. I had a pile of books... I took them to Pattaya Jail... they will help to fill in the time for some inmates.
  24. I am an Australian citizen and resident, and I intend to spend six weeks in Thailand later in the year. My current plan is, enter on a 30-day visa-exempt, and get an extension while in Thailand. My question is: Can I enter with my flight out being in six weeks? Or do I need to have an departure flight within the 30 days of the visa-exempt?
  25. I confirm that Jade House, off Thappraya Rd, is PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
