  1. The tragedy is that it appears this man it seems has a mental age of 12 years old.

One  must ask what were his family doing with regards to letting him travel  here to Thailand  with 4,000 pounds in cash say around 200,000 baht.

Too many  unasked or unanswered questions in this case to ascertain the truth of the matter regarding the seemingly lack of interest and care shown by the mans family in the first place.

He has my sympathy  however  there needs to be an in depth look into the matter to hopefully prevent such a situation arsing again with this unfortunate man or others like him

My 28 Day vacation I only spent $5000 us, but I wasnt going for luxury.  Simple accommodations and simple tastes... Some people have to spend a lot of money to have fun, some people dont.

PHUKET: Tourists unable to prove the legitimacy of their trip to Thailand are being turned away despite having tourist visas issued by Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed Lt Col Banphot Kittivira, deputy superintendent of the Immigration checkpoint at Sadao.

The Sadao checkpoint, the portal for Phuket visa runners bound for Malaysia, sees about 100 foreigners denied entry into the Kingdom per month, Col Banphot noted.

“If tourists can’t provide us with details about their trip to Thailand, we will refuse them entry,” said Col Banphot.

“We are being very strict about this because some foreigners are using a tourist visa to enter the country and work – this is the wrong type of visa for this.

“Foreigners who are using many tourist visas to enter Thailand multiple times for nearly a year or more are very suspicious.”

Col Banphot explained that legitimate tourists need to clarify what activities they plan on participating in while in Thailand. Additionally, proof of hotel reservations will help them gain entry.

“I think between 60 and 90 days is enough for most people to travel in Thailand,” Col Banphot said. - See more at: http://www.phuketgazette.net/phuket-news/Crackdown-tourist-visas-sees-dozens-turned-away/31171#sthash.egpnZ7EQ.dpuf

  3. This is an outlier suggestion ... but I have some bear qualities myself and my general feeling is that Thai gay guys are mostly NOT into that type. HOWEVER, a place where I have been amazed by the (non-commercial) response to my look has been MALAYSIA. Visiting there makes me feel like a movie star! Again I wouldn't suggest such a long trip for a man his age who has NEVER left the USA. I would try international travel out first with a shorter trip.

I don't have "bear qualities" but I was overweight at the end of my tenure in Taiwan. I blame it on the food; I weighed 81 kg as opposed to my current 68 kg. I liked the Chinese food, and I had no "problem" with my weight.

In Taiwan, I was also approached by cute-looking guys that I had no chance of getting when I was "not much to put the hands on". There is a scene for everything; in Japan I was at a gay club that had posters of naked Sumo fighters all over.

As long as you like yourself, and radiate it, your weight does not matter.

I need to know more about this. Anyone else have the same experience in Taiwan... I would certainly go with him if he was going there, it would be fun for both us I think.

That rings true regardless of sexual orientation. Confidence is sexy, I'm such an arrogant bastard I have scored many times outside of my "league".

My friend however is not, he's not exactly shy but he's not the outgoing or confident type.

  5. Does your gay "friend"...take selfies in the mirror...and they look a lot like you?

    No

In college I was curious, thats actually when I met my friend. Nothing ever happened... I dont hide behind anything for anyone, I am not conventional...

Also they should stay in the Gay Village specifically in a gay B and B

    Bed and breakfast?

  6. I am dog sitting right now, today is the last day! Last night at 3am I woke up to one of the dogs barking for 10 minutes non stop. This is a dog who doesnt bark at nothing, turns out its trash day an bum we digging through the neighborhood trash bins looking for things to recycle. I just let it go....

Get a box fan and put it in your room. Box fans make a lot of white noise and dont have to pointed at you.

  7. Right the first thing is men who have relationships with cross gender are not gay. Gay people are just the same as straight people in that we have feelings to.

Thats a matter of opinion and I respect yours, I certainly was not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

No; it's a fact, not a matter of opinion: Gay men like men. Ask any gay man.

The purpose of this thread wasnt me getting into a debate. I respect your opinion...

He's definitely not ready for Thailand, I doubt many people are :D . I mentioned the Gay Cruises to and now I know wny he's never gone on one before, he has a irrational fear of boats. So thats off the list. I am pushing for Montreal due to location and that there will be many english speakers there. I've never been, who knows I may go with him although if I'm heading that direction I'd rather visit Newyork for the first time. I travel where my stomach leads and Newyork is famous for its variety of ethnic food.

    Thanks Everyone....

There's always Canada ... Montreal staying in the gay district with a side trip to Quebec City is so close but foreign enough to be a soft adventure for him.

I think Montreal sounds perfect thanks, no culture shock but still a slightly different culture. And the trip is easily repeatable if he meets a man out there he wants to see again..

  10. Hatching some ducklings, in here we have 12 Cayuga's, 4 Swedish Blues, 6 Magpie duck and 10 Shetland duck, quite a mix!! So far so good! I think maybe some of these are new breeds here.

There is just something wonderful about this post :)

  11. The submissive in any relationship is always thought of as weaker. As far as bottom jokes they dont make it far enough outside of the gay community for straight people to hear them. I've never heard one.

    1. ready to conform to the authority or will of others; meekly obedient or passive.
  12. Not enough info.

What types of leisure activities does he enjoy?

Would he prefer a big city, beach, or mountain, etc.?

Is he looking for a holiday of gay abandon?

If so, what age group is he attracted to?

Are there ethnic groups that appeal to him (or don't)? What is his ethnicity?

There are hundreds of possible choices all over the world, but with the info you gave, impossible to give a good tip.

He's a bit of a computer geek. He loves watching movies and he listens to heavy metal music, goes to more concerts than anyone I've ever known...

He's a bit chubby and not comfortable with his body so I think the beach is out. In the nearly 20 years I've known him he's never once mentioned going to the beach or the moutains.

He's not looking for holiday, I'm trying to talk him into one. He's depressed over his fathers death and I think getting out of town and doing something new and fun will help him. He was living with his father when he unexpectedly died from a heart attack, he's still living in the same house (with his fathers things).

    Age group? 20-50 I think...

Latino or White I think is his preference, but he doesnt seem to mind much about race.

  13. I'm not gay but I have a gay friend who is a bit of an introvert. He's in a slump right now, his father died a while back and he's still dealing with it. I think he could use a vacation and I'm trying to talk him into taking one. He's also a bit of a homebody and has never left the USA. I guess you would call him a bottom bear? I think he's within a few years +/- of 40. He's not rich by anymeans, but can afford a reasonable Vacation.

I've mentioned to him that Thailand touristy spots seem to have a lot of ladyboys which must mean there's a lot of gay men right?

Anyhow I'm looking for suggestions, forums, locations, cruises and ect. He's mild mannered and bit shy so nothing to over the top...

Not just thailand locations.. anywhere in the world...

  14. When your car gets a flat tire do you change the shocks to fix it?

When your house is infested with rats, do you add more rats to fix it?

It's always the same old manta. More guns, more guns. Well the parents and people don't believe that even more guns is the solution any more, which is why the gun vote was a shameful day. What is it with guns and Americans? Go search through the 'general' section of the forum regarding where, how, what visa do I need to buy a gun in Thailand. I don't recall one (ever) that was not posted by an American.

FYI... I'm sure you're paying attention, but just incase you didnt notice I didnt say that. That was someone else.... Have you told your doctor about your memory problems and complete lack of logic skills?
