  1. It was very interesting to read the posts in "Marrying Bar Girls" but now it's closed. Someone wrote that the thread belongs to www.barladies.com. I think there are thousands of threads that belong rather to some other forum and should be closed. For example threads of football teams in England that have nothing to do with Thailand. If the thread is not interesting I skip it but forum policy is up to moderators.

having just looked at Bargirls.com, I would say that the threads generally started in TV are not the same type at all.

There most of the posters seem to be sex tourists asking each other where to go for a quicky, or telling of their fascinating experiences

here are mostly "normal" people who get upset and aggravated that anyone may consider having a BG for a friend or wife. Lots of nonsense gets posted, but of a different kind from BG.com :o

  2. What would you do if you won 20 million Baht?

I would not tell a soul I had won, but I can guarantee that the Bahtbus.com led supporters of Father G’s Camillian Centre would have an inkling as the 2005 JAIDEE APPEAL JW DRUNKATHOLON: IN MEMORY OF AOM would break all records… :o

Edit: If you have not read the thread started by richardb, please click on: Dying Girlfriend?

Thanks for the pointer Noel. I just read it all and was crying

so yes, all the money must go to causes like that :D

  3. I was pointed to this thread by Noel on another thread

I am still crying, it was so sad. It is so good to know people out there can be so selfless and wonderful

    I cannot continue

  4. It's started and it's raining tofu.  It's amazing what they can make it taste like. I had tofu which I swore tasted, smelt and looked like fish last night.  It even had tofu skin.

I used to be vegie too. Wish this food was available not only during the festival.

I am in KL at the moment. There are Chinese restaurants that sell Tofu based food all year. As you say, they make it just like meat, fish and fowl.

weird but nice , and cheap

so maybe can find in Chinatown

  5. On the next Thailand Today,

Mr. Condom says AIDS cases are increasing in Thailand and if we don’t watch out, it’ll only get worse.

Online gaming revenues jump…great for profits bad for online gaming addicts.

And Felix Lynn asks in desperation: Why can’t I get a decent haircut in the Land of Smiles?

All that and seven and half reasons why not to drive in Thailand, on the next Thailand Today, each weekday, every three hours, beginning at noon only on http://www.radiobangkok.net

poor Felix, why can't he get a decent haircut?

do you have strange hair Felix? most farang I see look fine, maybe their wives do it for them (I do). :o

  6. We live in central Chiang Mai and get our neighbours cocks all through the night...you just get used to it (almost)

and the dogs, and the bikes, and the drunken sister a couple of times a week, and our housemate stumbling home from her bar job....

and the local arguments (usually the drunken sister is involved)

this is city life too :o

  7. The flop was 'Going Straight' which followed Porridge and the characters on the outside. When I see some of the utter garbage on TV today that passes for comedy like 'My Family' and 'My Hero' 'Little Britain' and the talentless no marks like Julian Clary, Graham Norton, and <deleted> Ant and Dec, I wonder what happened to the next generation of Barkers, Morcambes, Rossiters, Coopers etc and my heart has bled for British Comedy since the 1970s with a few exceptions.

Oh come on!! lots of good things have/are on TV. There always has been a lot of rubbish as well, of course.

League of Gentlemen, Monty P, anything John Cleese, News at 10

what more would you want?? :D

mind you, Ronnies made me squirm, not my sense of humour :o

  8. If you marry a whore from any country you will be in for a rough ride. They have little to offer. And the woman unlucky enough to be stuck with a punter is equally shortchanged. Maybe the punter whore combo makes for a good match.

    Common ground.

    I can't believe I'm agreing with George f'ing Bush.!

The question could also be why does a Thai bargirl want to marry a "whoremongering farnag"?

I wonder how many farnag , married to a BG are not whoremongers.

  9. My wife-to-be has had 'ownership' of some of my assets for months (a couple of bars worth about 4 million baht total).  We are selling up (moving to Samui to build a hotel).

What did she do when the first bar was sold?  Put the money straight back into my bank account, not hers :o

    Simon

oh there goes a quiet one!!

thanks Simon, and your wife is quite normal :D

  10. and i dont think that is an isolated case.

i hear stuff like that a lot , and not from forum boards.

finding a thai girl from any background who is not 95% motivated by money is like a search for the holy grail. they are out there , but they take some finding.

your arguments sound like a smoker denying that smoking damages your health by saying his grandmother is 96 and smokes 2 packs a day

yes, money is important in a marriage. One of the main reasons cited for arguments in UK marriages was money. But to say that 95% of Thai women are motivated by money is ridiculous. You do hear a lot of it, as those are the people shouting; the quiet ones are not saying that.

  11. Scouser, her weight is normally about 5 stone and a few pounds! She has lost a few kg when she should be putting on the weight :D Right now she is at home resting.

BTW, we still have our interview at the UK embassy in December for a visitor's visa.  This is because the nice embassy guys think we are not in a real relationship.  I wonder what their take will be when they see her bulging stomach!!

I am sure those nice people in the UK embassy think no such thing!!

they are too arrogant and lazy to have any time for thinking :o

anyway, good luck for the wedding, health and visa :D

  12. My wife is not a bar girl and never was to my knowledge. She is still obsessed with money. It is no doubt the # 1 priority in her life, ie MY money and how to spend it. I think that is the primary motivation for most Thai/woman - Farang/man relationships. Family is the next priority with you (the farang) placing somewhere further down the list. It seems that the expectation that the rich farang will run out and buy/build an expensive house (for which he has no rights to ownership) is part of the "package deal". Also include car and set the lady up in some sort of busines.

I am trying to "convert" this mentality into a normal "real world" situation. It is a constant battle to het her to understand that the longevity of our relationship will be enhanced by the my/our financial stability, ie you don't "blow" every last farthing on material possessions.

I am sure you are a nice man, and sorry about your wife....but your extrapolation to every Thai woman is insulting and stupid. For instance, my main motivation is not money, so that must be every Thai woman minus 1

Try to learn a little more about life before you use your small experience to make big assumptions

  13. Richard does have a point, although it is stated in an arrogant way.

The Muslim extremists are not some single person led army against the west. The journos would have you believe that Osama is in charge of all the bombings etc. The phrase "al Quaeda hallmarks" is in common use, as in the Bali bombs yesterday.

Most bombings are carried out by individual groups who subscribe to the arguments that the west and pro-west islamic goverments are bad. They are not controlled by an individual. The Muslim leaders around the world should therefore try to educate their followers, to try to follow a peaceful path. Iy all begins in the mosques.

The idea of one "pope" like figure would hardly be possible as the Muslims have several types of Islam...as do the Christians. The pope does not speak for all Christians.

  14. You forgot to add the Eastern (Pattaya, Chonburi, Rayong, Trat), Central (Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Singburi), and Central Southern (Hua Hin, Prachup Khiri Khan, Cha Am) regions to the Poll...  :o

I live in the Eastern Region (Chonburi Province) and I'm only as old as the woman I feel...  :D

    :D

and she is as old as the man feeling her :D

  15. Southern people are the darkest Thai people I've seen but it doesn't stop them discriminating.

What a dumb statement. Look everyone, we have among us a person who actually thinks that skin color has anything to do with quality of character.

And everyone knows that people who have at least five syllables in their name are the darkest people. :o

that was taken out of context, as the people who have looked have seen!

Thai people do discriminate against darker skin colours, and don't like it. If I have been on the beach, my friends will not say "nice tan", they say "oh you are so black", in a bad way. I am not sure that it would make a difference in getting a job etc, but ceertainly in the street it can.
