Always double standards. The thai hate farangs.Farangs are there to be abused.Thailand is finished as a place to visit.I have not been back there for 5 years now and have no intention to ever go back. One time .i thought i was going to retire there.I asked many thai girls why everything has changed in thailand. There answer is ,thai have money now.Respect farang for what.Even the big surprise. At 6pm they used to stand for the KING.this stopped even before the king died.Because less are going now,The place is becomming dangerous. And farangs are the big target. You might think i have gone off the subject. But i have not.Its all about targeting the farang. There interest is in the chinese and pattaya is becomming little india.Everything thailand was once good for has long gone.

Yep, I'm sure the Shinawatra's are having a good old laugh at that heading.
You never know, to balance things out and to appease the masses, tomorrow's headline might just read that the PM has now agreed to drop all charges relating to the Shinawatra's and that they are now welcome to return to Thailand.........well, we know that ain't going to happen, don't we.
Not happen.Because they would have to give him money back.

When GDP is set to decline 8.1%, does that mean the THB will finally adjust to a more realistic exchange rate than it is now?

Persons who hold a valid certificate of residence
Has somebody more information about this? I have a NON-O visa. Can I ask the immigration for a certificate of residence, then travel to Europe and come back to Thailand using this certificate of residence?Even if you can.Look at requirements to return. You have to have a lot of expence for certificates.and then have to stay in very expencive hotel for 2 weeks on return.Who knows what happens when you are out of thailand.and the 72 hours certificate, you cannot book a flight untill you have this and this is the last one you need to get.And the cost of flight to go within one day.very expencive.you have 72 hours from time of certificate,to be back in thailand.Stay were you are.unless you are leaving for at least the next 3 months. And then there might be another outbreak.

My guess it will be hard to get vouchers, and they will be for expencive hotels if you can get them.also knowing thailand .all prices will be raised for everything. So it will be even more expencive again.Seen it all before many times. Its the thai way.

Just wait until the Thai government puts up duties and taxes in the coming months to pay for their big 2 trillion loan
and we all thought Thailand had loads of money in reserve lol
evidently not
tough times ahead
they do have a lot of reserves, but they will not use them for ordinary people. They will simply tax them.Same as every other country. When this is over.the poor will pay.Sadly that is the way of the world.tax havens have been set up .so the rich do not have to pay.and if you tax the big companys.they simply move to a lower tax country. So the system is simple blackmail set up by the wealthy and theres nothing you can do about it.Same as these brainwashed global warming idiots.a system of lies to make big money for the banks. But same same media.people actualy believe the <deleted> that they are being fed.

Look at the names of the hotels.expencive.plus everything you buy is from the hotel.very expencive.and you are stuck there for 2 weeks. The people who own these types of hotels are connected with those above. This is were the idea has come from because they are empty.

A few years back I helped a guy in a similar situation, although not so serious and he did make it back to the UK too. On the other hand, I personally know two guys who were "topped" when they tried to leave with their money.

This was bad people that absolutely shall not be identified to present the greater group of Thais or Thai women. Why are you posting such silly things that we are just human ATMs? That is just a tell-tale that has been made up of people that visit Thailand and starts unhealthy relations with Thai bar girls a.k.a. hookers. That is a part that has absolutely no relation or connection with the real Thailand and the genuine Thai people. Exactly same difference that it is in your home country between a hooker and a person living a so called normal life.
Looks like you know nothing of thailand. He was correct in what he said.We are atm,s to them.and the days of respect have long gone.I think i know more than you about thailand, and i mean all of thailand.Been going there for over 30 years and lived there for 15 years. Not been for over 4 years now.and no intention of going back.I am not bitter about thailand.had many happy years there. But it is now a place to avoid.

This report does not make sense. You cannot sell your stake and cancel dept.First there is no stake left to sell. And the lenders ie airbus have a claim on the aircraft.Does not say who the depts are owed to.?

I agree a little bit of weakening would probably be better for the overall economy.
Out of interest, I checked the charts, last time we were at 65 was August 2008, from there, a straight dive to 50. Some occasional flirting with 55 since then but generally speaking been below 50 ever since.
As for the OP, we had -4% GDP contraction in 2008 (GFC) and 2011 (Floods), and a -12% year in 1997 (Tom Yam Kung), so I don’t understand their reference to 1957. How many TCC members were alive and working in business in 1957 and did Thailand even have any reliable economic data back then ? If things are biblically bad, how come the TCC member confidence index is only as low as January 2018 and not off the scale low? Or are they just trying to apply pressure for further government support for business ????
there was nothing in thailand in 1957 tourism or infrastructure. To my knowledge things were 1980 ish.back packers in huts by the beach. It was hard to get there and expencive. But very little spending money was needed.

Correct. So you go for a month. But first 2 weeks you have to stay in expencive hotel for 2 weeks.i dont think so.What is happening. The big money people who are close and linked to government. Are looking to make money from the few tourist that will maybe come. These comments by thai government are always about trying to apease the certain few that they think matter.
