  1. We have a few rabbits and one is not so friendly. I went to pat him and he bit me on my hand and there was blood. I washed with soapy water right away.

I asked the local vet and he asked if they are in enclosed area or not? Any contact with other small animals or rats. Maybe rats in the back yard.

I had a full course of rabies jabs in 2004 and a jab in nov 2012. Then I had 2 rabies jabs in dec 2012 and another one feb 2014........ Thus 8 years ago since the last one

I googled this subject and 10 years ago someone died or rabies (from a rabbit bite) in bkk having purchased a rabbit from the main market in central bkk.

Im about to fly out of thailand for a holiday this weekend and thus its a pain in the rear end

Any suggestions? I think its low risk. My rabbits are in good health and I had the last jab 8 years ago. I think they last 10 yrs?

If he goes back the the UK, the NHS will put him on an 'end of life pathway.'
That is, if he can find a bed in an NHS facility.
As a 70 year old all I can say is that he should have thought this out way before this.  77 imho is the span of a good life.  He should get his affairs in order and seek to check out as painlessly as possible.  Heck, 70 is a good life span.  I just want to be relatively comfortable before I go.  No asking family in the US to 'save me.'  My chosen family is here.  I'll die here.

But, best of luck to Mr. John.

Jesus wept. after reading your post I just want to throw myself off the 17th floor.

I imagine you're a dream to live with right now haha

I recently visited the UK and needed my Thai SIM to receive OTPs etc. I also needed a UK SIM for Internet. So I took two phones - one with my Thai SIM card and one for a UK SIM card that I bought. It was too much hassle...much easier to by a DTAC international roaming package (see picture). I am now in Australia and am using my my Thai SIM card via an international roaming package.

    Screen Shot 2022-10-05 at 13.01.06.png

thanks for the info. So if I buy the package now and then arrive abroad and turn on my phone does it automatically connect to that package or do I have to activate it somehow?

Also, do I put the phone in airplane mode or not?

If I turn on airplane mode and connect to the hotel wifi does it mean that Im not using the above package that I bought off dtac?

  4. I have all my banking apps on my thai phone and need access to Line etc when I fly to Europe.

I checked out dtac app on my phone and they offer dtac international roaming packages. Should I be buying one of these?

Or should I be just connecting to wifi where ever I stay etc.

What exactly does the Airplane mode mean? Do I turn that on to avoid local dtac charges?

Please educate me on this subject

    thanks

My CCTV system has cameras that range in price from 2,500B to over 50,000B; it all comes down to what they are being used for.  You need to understand the requirements for field of view, distance of interest from the camera, low-light performance, and then what you need out of the DVR.  I mostly like my system for my personal needs, but those needs are a lot more extensive than most people might have.

There is a big financial difference between knowing there is a car at your driveway and being able to identify who it is when it is coming down the road as an example.

so whats the difference between 3MP and 5? All cameras are just looking at small distances inside our business.

I wasted mine by not having kids. 41 now and i wish i could travel back in time to correct this. I have friends and their kids are about to go to university. This must be one of the most satisfying experiences ever. So jealous of them. Yes i have money but what's the use of hoarding it in the absence of a family and loved ones who are of greater value than any amount of material wealth.

Thinking of having kids at this age asap or adopting.

I was same as you at your age. By 45 I had one and its the best thing in life. Its hard work. The main issue is finding the right girl. Thats the hardest part. Good luck

  7. We have an existing CCTV system with 2 megapixel cameras (I think).

A few of them are not working correctly. The guy is quoting us 2250 baht for each new 5 megapixel cameras. Is this an adequate megapixel coverage for an average CCTV system or am I being taken to the cleaners?

First he says he has to come and check the DVR support for the new cameras... whatever that means.

Please help me if. you have knowledge on this subject

    thanks

There should be greater interest to collect and destroy the Soi dogs. There are a nuisance and attack people. The domestically owned dogs can then be contacted at the responsibility of the owner.

I think your comment is a load of old bullocks.

I adopted a soi dog 7 years ago. Best thing Ive ever done. Great personality and companion. Loyal to the core.

The govt should help relocate and re-home these animals.

Meaning the testator must accomplish one of the two forms of an Amphur Will? Otherwise, I'm still confused on what are the mechanics of showing up with a Will at the Amphur and saying, "register this." Or, is there some other official location for registrations of Wills?

Dont know why you are so confused...

    1. Must take a self-made will to be sealed to perform in front of the sheriff at any branch of a district office.
    2. There must be 2 witness aged 20 years or more and must be the same witnesses who signed the will at the district too.
    3. The sheriff will inquire and sign the sealed envelope.
    4. Wills are kept at the district.
    5. There is 20 baht. fee.
    6. It takes 30-40 minutes, depending on the queue at that time.

Don't want to sound nasty but I think I can explain: the young and inexperienced one is almost like a blank sheet of paper - you can teach her whatever you fancy, program to be your ***-doll, convince her that your freakiest perverted fantasies are just normal, everybody do that and so and so on.

You can't do it with 25+ and obviously that's the main reason.

PS: Meanwhile older women got similar approach to young boys, but that disgusting as well, but often they pay well.

you seem very knowledgeable on this subject.

  11. Can a westerner register a Will at the local govt office. I have a yellow book. Or can only the wife register her Will?

I read it could be necessary if one's Will has a 'controller of property' which is used in cases where one has a child. If both parents die then that person can manage the childs life up to the age of 20. But I read the Will must be registered.

    thanks

I agree with you DunR about a waste of money ...

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to car waxing lol ????????

Time between waxes depends on the 'wax' you use, the climate, the time out in the sun, the quality of the paint at application, the brand of car  ... "once a year"?

Polishing once a year is nowhere near enough if you want to preserve paint, deter rusting, and keep a deep shine and provide hydrophobic surfacing.

Carnauba in an ideal world needs to be applied roughly every 2 to 2.5 months.

Polymer waxes last a tad longer than Carnauba - there are devotees of both. Polymer/synthetic's [especially liquids] are easier to apply in my opinion.

I bought an expensive car in BKK a year and bit ago (my first here) and I looked very closely at a possible ceramic coatings straight from the dealer to be applied before delivery but decided against it.

I checked both with contacts in Oz and BKK just in case there was a product I was unaware of that might be amazing.

Ceramics don't stop chipping or scratching (micro swirl scratches from washing to a degree yes, as all waxes regularly applied will do [none will protect against micro-scratching if you use a rubbish wash and washing system e.g. dirty cloths, no rinse bucket between applying new soap to the mitt, if you use quality cleaning products e.g. like a pressure washer & around 2000 PSI no higher to blow the dust n grit off the paint before the soap is applied, using a foam gun and the pressure washer really helps with preserving the previous wax coat].

Properly applied quality cleaning products are always best.

Fine dirt flying past the paint will be deflected by a ceramic or good wax layer to a degree but heavy impact contaminants - no. Stuff like hot brake dust and sharp gravel particles will embed no matter what coating you have on the car.

In my opinion of owning and detailing cars for 40 odd years (and I'm damn good at it) I'd say Carnauba waxes produce the best depth of shine of all 'coatings'.

Regular clay-bar decontamination before waxing is also advised to help promote a mirror shine. This stop dragging of the  imbedded micro-fine gunk across the paint as you wax which simply adds more scratches.

if you want to take care of your cars paint ... NEVER use an automated car wash.

I clay bar my cars 3 times a year here and this seems to work very well.

I lived in one of the toughest countries on the planet for UV rays etc so I got some idea what I'm talking about. I also had a successful business detailing exotic cars.

Carnauba doesn't last quite as long as polymer/synthetics but looks deeper and better in the shine in my opinion.

Some say Carnauba wax is better on dark colours while synthetics on lighter colours.

My experience of waxing cars has taught me with light or dark colours Carnauba gives a depth of shine others do not, is well-hydrophobic, deters micro-scratching from drive-by particle strike too.

Carnauba over a year or so of regular application and buffing fills in really persistent, buffing compound resistant micro scratches far better than synthetic waxes do.

    Nice reply thanks.

I wanted to know if you can give step by step instructions how to wax ones car and advise the best brand. I don't know how to do it

    thanks

  13. I wanted to give my 2 cents worth on this topic.

I recently had an MRI on my foot. I thought about the cheap option described above. But decided that using inferior machines and getting no radiology report is unwise.

Instead I went to a private hospital who quoted up to 27,000 baht. Had it done on a 3T machine. A radiologist with 20 years experience and who studied at Ivy league university in the states did the analysis.

If one is having an MRI done it surely means you want the best for your body. You get what you pay for IMHO. Cost me 19,000 after 1 hour in that machine. (no contrast fluid)

Why did you stop your kids education? Besides being unlawful, it isn't very smart too:

A homeschool law passed in 2004, Ministerial Regulation No. 3 on the right to basic education by the family, governs homeschooling. Families must submit an application to homeschool and students are assessed annually.

    Oh, not you again

Maybe English isn't your first language. I didn't suggest that I stopped my child's education.

It was during covid lockdown that I did homeschooling along with her online studies from school because attending classes was cancelled.

Please stick to the topic before typing your next message on any future thread. Thanks for abiding.
