Better still, go to luxuriant Ubud in Bali, or Cambodia. The Philippines has some totally exotic locations - cheap too. Sri Lanka is studded with some spectacular locations. And you won't have to look over your shoulder or lock yourself up in your hotel room to write emails.

You'd think that authorities would be delighted that people have actually found a reason to stay in Chaing Mai. Let's be realistic, it has its charms, but its not exactly exotic or interesting.

I am so sure that these places are better, this is why everybody wants to stay as long as possible in Thailand...

Two times a bike has scratched me - both times they drove off. No point to chase them, and they may not want problems if they don't have money / unlicenced / unregistered bike, etc. I have first class, and they just pay for it. Last time I got half of my car sprayed for little scratches. Very little excess to pay. I've probably had more done on my car through insurance than what I wold have had to pay out of pocket. Don't know how insurance companies make money here

So why the question here: why do we have to pay? This thread really does not make sense.

Now in the original thread, if it later becomes clear she was at fault the insurance company will pay, if not they will not and neither should that OP or his wife.

Not all of are old people with failing vision.

I had my first black window tint in LOS when I was 27, so no failing vision. It was free stuff from the dealer, so I´ve no idea what it was exactly. I just told them to not make it very dark. It was awful at night, it was even worse when it was raining, since then I don´t have any tint at all. Yes, maybe there is some good stuff that might compensate almost all sunlight without disturbing a lot at night, but I prefer to see 100% of what´s going on. My car is parked inside all day anyway and Ray Bans suit me well I don´t miss tinted windows very much, maybe there are some days with brutal midday heat and sun which make me think about at tint but for 3 years I managed to live without it.

If you guys can convince me that there is something that doesn´t disturb at night (at all) I´ll try it 3M clear?
