Looks like it's time to batten down the hatches, find a good VPN that still works in Thailand, get good wifi and stream and download everything. One legitimate US mobile service I have is DirecTV mobile.. I love it. It duplicates my entire satellite TV subscription for phone and tablet use. All those channels mentioned above and hundreds more. In addition there is, of course, Netflix US, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Fling and other streaming services. DirecTV mobile is free if you already have it at home. Otherwise I keep costs down by subscribing only to Netflix and Amazon. Overseas versions of Netflix seem to be a joke.

a vast vpn works for me here , has many locations in us to pick from as well as pp point to point works great for netflix ect

That would only be relevant if he was transferring the funds from Germany.

I think you need to do a little research and you will find there are banks in the US that allow international transfers online. They certainly allow it for domestic transfer as well.

yes if you use bangkok bank they have branch in new york  so if funds are in the states you just need to do a ach bank  transfer on  line from your us bank and  transfer to bbk bank . once its there it will transfer to your account here i thailand

  4. I agree, the terminology is very convoluted and subject to misinterpretation. You're saying I don't have an actual visa anymore but only extending my stay? That's news to me. What a crazy system. Okay, so apparently what I did was secure an an extension of stay based on Retirement. The one governed by form TM 7. I'm glad we guests don't have to pass a quiz about Thai visa rules every time we apply for an extension.

What if you had gotten there at 10am? Did you see anyone get turned away? BTW, thanks for the helpful report. The airport office would have been so much more convenient, and I even put my money in banks at AP Plaza in case they decided I needed to return to my bank. Not to mention things taking two steps backwards after the move.

I think they shut down the queue at some point in the morning, especially if a certain number of people have already showed up. Arriving at 10 and you might be turned away and told to show up another day.

I was #1 to extend my retirement visa (because my agent had gotten #1 somehow...I actually showed up when the doors opened) in late October. Took less than 30 minutes to process getting my visa stamped into my passport but as pointed out previously, the snag now is that the immigration office chief has to sign the visa. So I was told to come back after 1 PM to pick up my signed visa. As long as the requirement for the head honcho to sign the visa is in place, it looks like this will continue to be an all day affair.

In the past, I was able to get both my retirement visa extension and a multiple entry permit in one day...and usually before noon. But in October I had to go back another day to get my re-entry permit the week after I got my visa. I arrived without my agent right before the doors opened and was #1 to get a re-entry permit. The downside was that I also needed a 90-day and there was a line of more than 100 people to get a 90-day. I was told to complete my re-entry permit process and get a new number for my 90-day. It took less than 20 minutes to get my re-entry permit and then I got my 90-day number...something like #120...and then the waiting began as I was told to come back in the afternoon. Ended up staying at the office and talking with another guy who was in the same boat I was. We finally got out of there at about 3 that afternoon. I think there were about 200 people there that day to get a 90-day. The week before when I renewed my visa, I think there was probably less 30 people there to get their 90-day and they all were outta there by noon. So much depends on how many people show up on a given day as to how long you will be there...and the number of people can obviously vary widely.

Also, be aware that if you sit in the extra seating area just off the main office, there is no speaker in there so you can hear your 90-day number being called. If you miss your turn as a result, you can still get processed but it's at the whim of the staff as to when.

well i to did mine in oct extention of stay based on retirement. i was #1 in the Q that day as well , with out agents used . what was funny was the look on the agents when the showed up that i was already there , with wife for same . we did the 1 yr extension and her 90 day report and 2 multi entry 's and was out by 3 pm done with all 3

  5. well i think we will do it or try in the same day . i dont know if cm dose the 30 day pending or not she will do her 90 day , be in line for that ill be in extension line get 2 numbers her and mine if i can ,she should be done long before me . and then do extension for us both ,i hope . if we have to come back do we need to get a Q number again to pick up finished extensions

  6. She could do her report up to 7 days late including the report date in the count.

If you are ready to do it you could do your extension on the same day you do your reports. Immigration will allow you to do your extension 30 days early.

If you don't do the reports you will be fined 2000 baht each.

so she will have to do her 90 report due oct21 and then we can do extension after that or on the same day ?

  7. well i am sure this has come up before but i will ask again . my wife was due for her 90 day report in august 2015, She left the country on may 20 th 2015. was gone until july 23rd 2015. we both went in to do our 90 day report in august, but they told her she did not have to do one until 90 days from her re entry date . i am retired on extension for retirement . she is my dependent , she also had a multi entry permit same as my self . Anyway i did my report on line and as i said they told her not until oct 21st is the 90 day date. mine is the 25th of oct. our retirement extension is up on november 18th . so she tried to do hers online and was rejected ??? no reason given ,

so my question is can we skip her going in to do her 90 day and just do the retirement extension for both of us on the 20th of oct? really dont want to go to CM IM twice with in 30 days . thanks for all the help

  8. You should try doing it on line. Some people have gotten approved online reports after being out of the country.

If not approved then you would need to do it in person.

well i have tried 2 times to do it on line .the site is so slow and i never get to the 2nd pg of report is there issue with them there ? or do you have a better link ? i have used chrome and edge no luck . fill out first page then it hangs . nevers gets to page 2 , any ideas here .

  10. My immigration office is in Nan and they have never mentioned the TM.30 form to me after 10 yrs of living in Thailand. Like some have mentioned I guess it all comes down to the head Immigration officer and what he has been told or chooses to enforce.

Same for me here in Ubon.

Did my 8th extension based upon marriage in August and it was not asked for. I guess the rental contract for the house we are renting plus a map to it and my wife's house book for our house up in the village is enough.

OK SO WHAT IS THE T M 30 AGAIN?

  11. our one yr ends on 18 nov 2015 . our 90 day for both of us, was aug 3rd before she went to see her mom in st petersberg . my question now is her extention in her passport still says aug 3rd like mine. do we need to get that updated to her new date? she is under 50 so she is attached to my retirement . as dependant.

The report of staying longer than 90 days in the country is not an extension. The slip that says she is due a report on August 3rd can be taken out of her passport since it is no longer valid because she left the country before that date.

She does not need nor is it possible to get a new slip to show her new reporting date.

ok so oct 20 she goes for her 90 day report then on the 18th of nov we go to renew our 1 yr extension together right?

  13. no they stamped her departure card with her enter date july 23rd , same in under her multi entry and wrote 18 nov 2015 that is our 1 year and we need to do extention again oh yes we both have an extention of stay with multi entry permit

Okay, so what's the problem? She's stamped in on 23 July....her next 90 report is due 20 October by my calculations. Your extension is due in November.

ok i am just looking for information is all . i am not a immigration guru . just wanted to know about my wife . so now she is attached to me as i am retired and our year is up in nov .so if what you say is true she goes in 20 oct and then in november for our year ?

  14. 2 questions really , 1 my wife has been out of country for the last 2 months and is back now . we are due to do our 90 day report this week . she has a multi entry so getting back in was not an issue . did just fine .but they stamped her depatrure card with her entry day . ? will she have to report now with me for her 90 day . and also when i had my deparure card stamped when i had my retirement in place and mulit entry.and was coming thur saido he stamped it with the date of my 1 yr extension date not the day i entry in country

. so did the airport , stamp her with the right date ?

  15. Is this a new issue? Last year I left the US from LA, oneway to Chiang Mai. Didn't have an issue. Same when I went from Thailand to Viet Nam. And when I left Viet Nam. Same when I flew from Thailand to Ecuador. All on oneway tickets. Never had a problem. Is it just my innocent face that tells them I'm not up to no good?

no i have done same i always do one way tickets. to many country's that allow 30 60 or 90 DAY stays w/o visa. never been asked one. last year flew to thailand didnt have. same with this year never been asked. for onward ticket cyprus , egypt germany ect and never been asked to have a return ticket i dont like round trip tickets if i decide to go some where else i can, kinda of like country hopping lol

  16. The 30 day entry you will get can be extended for a further 30 days once you are in country, at the immigration office wherever you will stay. You will not have an issue at immigration at the airport when you arrive. The issue you might have is at the airport in the US when you check in. They can deny boarding if you don't have a visa or onward ticket within 30 days.

well last june my wife and i flew to thailand with no return ticket they didnt care. got 30 and extended 30 and there was no problem. even when i flew to cyprus for a month no one asked. and that was a different air line. same with egypt got 30 day when arrived in both . just call and find out but most ticket desks wont ask or if they do ask just you dont need one. some times its better to just by one way ticket and then buy one when your ready to leave. they dont ask when you get to thailand any way, never had them ever ask
