I do not trade with Starbucks but i love the way people hate them, and claim the product is trash.

The product is okay and the stores are nice.

The new store is definitely very nice, river views are spectacular out on the terrace. I was in Iconsiam yesterday and had a look - long queues to get in, mostly local people as far as I could tell.

    I'll give Roojai compliments.

I've now been contacted by messenger and via phone by an English speaking representative.   Was told by the rep that I should receive a soft-copy via email in the next day or so.
That works for me. If I have the policy via email I'm good.
    I'll keep this open though.

Same here - they sent me a PM after my post above, and I got the email policy through a few hours later.

I purchased a Covid policy online from Roojai Insurance.  The policy is issued by Dhipaya Insurance Public Co. Ltd.
After purchasing the policy I was told it would be approximately two weeks before I receive MY policy.
I purchased the policy almost a month ago in January and have not heard a word, receive an email, or been sent the policy via mail.

I tried to contact Roojai via their "English customer service" only to be connected to a rep who didn't speak English.  I left a callback number but after living in Thailand for almost a decade and a half, I don't expect to get a return call.  But we'll see.......................

Has anyone else bought one of these Covid policies from Roojai?   Did you have any problems?
I just want my physical policy along with claim instructions should I ever need to make a claim.  But right at the moment I've received nothing.

So what's the next step?  What branch of the Thai government regulates the Thai insurance companies?  Who do you call if I need to file a compliant if it comes to that.  Hopefully it won't. But?  TIT.

Same as me, bought the policy 3½ weeks ago, so far no documentation (just a reference number and English translation of policy wording). Planned to chase them up later this week - from your second post looks like they have a backlog.

I bought a Covid 19 insurance policy from Dhipaya for 850 baht valid for one year in April last year. I just got off the phone with them and they assured me that if I test positive, I will be covered as long as the doctor is requesting for me to stay in the hospital. I asked him if this is true if I have no symptoms and he said as long as the government makes me stay in the hospital, I will be covered.

I guess you know by now that Richard Barrow has posted the new law that was published in the Royal Gazette on December 25, 2020, that in order to get an extension of stay  to remain in Thailand which most of us have to do once per year, you will have to supply a negative Covid 19 test certificate. The details as usual have not been provided. This law will go into force on January 25 so if anyone is up for their extension renewal, I would advise everyone to apply for their extension before this new law goes into force.

I asked Dhipaya if they will cover the cost of a negative test for Covid 19 and they told me that they will not pay for a negative test. However if the test is positive they will pay for the test along with all expenses up to 1,000,000 baht for hospitalization.

Thanks for the info, this is reassuring. I have the same policy taken out through Roojai (same premium and cover - Roojai is the broker, Dhipaya the insurer and Tipinsure their online operation).

I understand the 100,000 is for outpatients or observation. The 1,000,000 is for inpatients. I have posted the info I had on page 1.

Presumably this 100,000 would include cover in the event of being hospitalised after a positive covid test (even if no serious symptoms)? I'm guessing this would fall under "observation".

On further examination I found that Roojai are together with TIPINSURE.com

    Google Tipinsure

If you scroll down on the Tip site they have one more policy at 1950 Baht which is probably at better bet.

AS they say here  "Up to You"

I was looking for a better one at the 5-8,000 Baht premium but there does NOT seem to be any

The 1950 bt policy (Plan IS) has 2 million cover for coma, but only 30k medical expenses. Their 850 baht option (Plan 4) has 1 million for coma but 100k for medical expenses.

It seems that the $100k covid insurance required to enter the country for foreigners isn't available for those already here.

People from the UK shouldn't be leaving to go on holiday anywhere outside the UK - and there shouldn't be anyone arriving either.

This new strain had only just been reported in the news when the family arrived in Thailand on 21st December. At the same time Thailand was grappling with it's own home grown surge in infections from largely unchecked migrant workers from Myanmar (where covid had been rife for months).

With the extremely high bar of pre-flight screening and stringent ASQ regulations, regular tourists are a very safe bet in comparison, and this system has successfully prevented the virus getting here for many months. Blaming the British family for this is as ridiculous as it is unfair.

On December 21, Jupiter and Saturn will be just 0.1 degrees apart from each other – the closest since 1623. This is called the “great conjunction” and will require a telescope to observe.

I was anagramming King’s Castle to see how many eight letter words I could find from its 11 letters before the next song.

Slacking off early, I quashed my caginess and entered the bar, where I was directed to the seatings next to a couple of regulars in chang singlets. Before long I noticed the lankiest giantess stalking me from the stage. Her gnatlike nubbins poked impishly through the laciness of her top, and it was clear that behind the elastics of her scanties she was sporting a man's genitals. I was briefly entertained by her strange gestical movements and the slickest of sweet talkings, but her gainless efforts quickly came to nought and I was soon tackling her to the ground as I caught her stealing my wallet...

Letter from the bank must be dated no older than the day before you apply at many offices. Bank book updated on the day you apply and copies of it.

I have to do mine next week at Chaengwattana - is the bank letter dated one day before accepted there? It would be convenient if I could get it a day before at my local branch.

I also understand a bank transaction and bankbook update has to be made on the day of attending immigration - is there a problem that the amount in the book is different to the letter (due to the transaction)? Bank is Krungsri.

My local doctors surgery will not.

Some local surgeries will do it, my GP signed the form in 2016 after looking back over my medical history, and a quick turn with the stethoscope - I was charged the standard £15 NHS fee for such letters or documents.

Having said that, he looked at the form with some bafflement and seemed to be on the fence about signing it for a moment - I'm not confident other GPs in the surgery would have agreed to sign it.

  12. Just to confirm that the LMG application process is pretty painless and I got the acceptance today after filling out the application form last Thursday, along with the a pdf of the policy emailed a few minutes later after I transferred the payment. Thanks @Peter Denis for your help.

A quick thought - my permission to stay expires 3rd November and I got the policy dated a few days earlier than that (29th October) just to give a few days leeway. While I expect my upcoming extension to be capped to 29th October 2021, what would happen if I go to Chaengwattana and try to get the extension before 29th? Will they just send me away and tell me to come back when the policy is in force, or will they process it anyway (given the insurance requirement only pertains to the extension)?
