Another important factor is whether you were "contracted out" of SERPS at any time. According to my NI record, I have 36 full years of contributions, but since I was contracted out of SERPS while working for local government, I don't get the full weekly amount.
Yes new state pension can require anything between 35 and 47 years of contributions depending on how many years someone was contracted out.

My birthday is early March. I deferred my pension for two months thinking I would get the increase from April. I did not get the new increase. But because I deferred for two months, those two months bumped up my pension a few quid. That is my experience of doing what the OP is thinking of doing.
The annual increase doesn't apply, there's a separate calculator used for deferrals after state pension age, equivalent to 5.8% pa.

You must have had an existing Thai bank account.
That's an added item prior to obtaining non O for many that don't have bank account in place.
Yes, I was shifting from Non O-A extensions to Non-O to get rid of the insurance requirements, so I had everything in place and was familiar with the extension procedure.
-
I think I did this in about the minimal time possible. Arrived on visa exempt entry, went to CW the following day to switch to Non O, given date for collection three weeks after arrival date in country. My visa was stamped with around 9 weeks remaining, and I went back to do the extension 3 weeks after that, 45 days early. So allowing for holidays and weekends etc, minimum time between starting the process and getting the extension stamp at CW will be 6-7 weeks, or a couple of weeks more for offices that only allow extensions 30 days early.

Anybody heard of this before (I haven't). Seems because it is a retirement extension they are demanding bank book and letter to transfer the stamps. The wild card is that the bank may not recognise my new passport as valid unless the stamps is transferred and Immigration won't transfer without the bank book and letter. Anybody have experience of this?
I was told this as well by CW immigration last month when I did non O retirement extension. My passport will need renewing this year and the IO told me to bring updated bank book and letter when I come in and transfer the stamps.

In case all that come across as prudish, I used to smoke in the 1970's and I have seen first hand extensive links between the use of ganja and harder drugs.
Presumably because they were all illegal at the time and anyone who smoked weed was hanging around people who also dabbled in other stuff. You had to mix in the underworld and interact with a dealer who had other substances available. When I was growing up the consequences of getting busted were quite scary even for cannabis.
Agree with the OP that a foreigner would have to be nuts to willingly go on a police database for buying weed in a country so famous for u turns.

But still, 4 month? I thought you can stay 6 months or exact half a year but not a day longer... (within a twelve month period)
There used to be a rule on the books between 2006-08 which had a limit of 90 days out of every 180. Although rescinded 15 years ago it still gets mentioned, and some border officers no doubt use it as an unofficial rule of thumb.

There is no such thing as non O-A to non O conversion.
Thinking you mean changed the reason for your extension from retirement to marriage.
Very different.
A visa exempt entry to Non O conversion (basis of retirement) after killing off the Non O-A.

a) Is the house registration the TM30?
d) Can I just print a Google map with a pin dropped on the condo?
If you're renting you'll need copy of the TM30 and the rental contract. I did O-A to O conversion at CW in November and all docs were accepted without quibble, only surprise was need to have a home visit the following week to verify address.

I was showing someone this the other week (from the NI website) and their quote was about 800 a year.
£800 is the class 3 rate, £150 is class 2. Eligibility for class 2 contributions is much more restrictive, any expats not working here will most likely have to pay class 3. Even at class 3 it's a bargain though, amounting to 6-7x immediate annuity rates.

I'm not commenting again until I found how how much money??????? " a lot" of money should be at a very, very minimum of 300,000 and it is almost 2023 so I'll bump it up to 500,000.
OP mentioned earlier in the thread that it's in this ball park:
"They would probably fall down laughing at my measly (not to me) amount of a few hundred thousand B."

Should find these in Villa, Gourmet, Tops or Foodland. In the Foodland restaurant I've seen Worcester sauce as a condiment so for sure they'll sell it.

Put the wallet in the front pocket of your shorts then twist the pocket through 180 deg.

Pro tip - never try this with your testicles.

As per comments above new UK state pension is above £200pw from next April, almost double what it was a decade ago, and almost 3x from 20 years ago. Until April 2023 it's possible to catch up missing years all the way back to 2006-07, after which it reverts back to previous 6 years.

Don't know where you're getting your info from. I just received my 5 year evisa for the fee of $80US. US, British, Japanese and Canadiens are allowed 180 day continuous stays, other nationalities 90 days. Whether one can return immediately is not quite clear. Could you please post a link from GOI stating a maximum 180 days per year. TIA
Apologies, I wasn't aware of the new rules in India. I actually had a 5 year visa in the late 90's during which you could genuinely stay there long term (and get resident permit for cheaper domestic flights etc), but that all went away after the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. Encouraging to see the country is once again welcoming long stayers.

Not everyone's cup of tea but India issues 5 year tourist evisa for round $80US. Easy to get, no paperwork and few requirements.
The 5 year option is considerably more expensive. Plus you're not allowed more than 90 days per entry and maximum 180 days in a year.

Is this a usual procedure (2 officers, took photos of me, passport, condo, etc.) or did I get a special treatment free of charge? ????
Background: I just recently applied for conversion of visa-exempt to Non-Imm O (retirement) in Bangkok, am due to pick it up next week.
Same as you, I did the VE - Non O ret conversion at Chaengwattana last month and also got a home visit the following week (they called to make appointment the night before). It was over in 10 minutes, but at the time it was quite disconcerting as I hadn't read of it happening to anyone else at that point.
I understand this is a new thing in the wake of the recent irregularities that have been reported in the news.

I was informed by my IO a few weeks ago, that orders from above dictated that applications for a change of status VE/TV to Non O are now subject to a home visit, regardless of whether based on Thai spouse or retirement.
I know of 2 (retirement) who had such visits in the last month, before the Non O application could be approved. Reports elsewhere as well.Yes, my VE conversion to Non O last month also prompted a visit from Chaengwattana. Interesting thread - good to shed a bit of light on why these visits are becoming more common recently.

I got my stamp this morning. according to the ticket there was only one person in the queue but I waited one hour.
I remember that for previous times, they gave me a slip with the date for 90 days notification.
This time I got nothing.
Does it start from my entry in Thailand (nov th), from the beginning of my Non-O visa (nov 14th) or from the day I got my passport stamped with my new visa (Nov 28th ) ?
Your 90 day notification would not fall due until later in January if you entered in November. It's counted from the date you last entered the country, or 90 days on from the last report. I do mine 15 days early by mail, so it comes around every 2½ months.

By the way, they told me an appointment was not needed on 28th to get my visa stamped on my passport.
I guess therefore therefore will be no queue... but I wonder
Got my stamp this week, allocated a separate queue number for this, only one person was in front of me.

Yes , rare I believe , I did have one previously at this same IO, Ayutthaya.
TM30 was done on application for O visa and print out supplied ( and returned ) today, copies of landlord (gf) id and house book also supplied, plus a hand drawn map . Pretty much as done for previous retirement extensions so they have all the address information already but as it’s a new visa might as well do it all again …….. now where did I put that blood pressure medicine ?
Just happened to me as well in Chaengwattana, albeit at the initial conversion stage from visa exempt to Non O (retirement). All went well during the meeting, copy of contract and TM30, and proof of origin of funds from Transferwise were all accepted. The officer gave me a collection date 19 days later, but then just when I thought we were done when she told me I'd be getting a home visit. They rang me last week to make an appointment and showed up the next day. The condo manager was around and came up with them, and it was all over quite quickly, 3 or 4 photos at the door and inside, holding passport etc. Due to collect the stamp this week, so hopefully it'll go smoothly, ditto the extension a couple of months from now.

So when I got one from the yellow bank last week with a letter as well.
Can Krungsri bank provide a 12 month statement on the spot, as with the bank letter?
unusual question concerning 90 day report

I think this is correct and Phuket are wrong. Did you get a date of notification slip from immigration the day you did the extension, saying next report would be 90 days from the date the extension was given?
