I guess there is nothing that works 100% on everything, but the acupuncturist I talked to who did the work on my friend, claims it is a fairly straightforward process.

Aikido. Did it professionally for many years.
The shoulder and the locking finger are related, and not arthritis.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply.
I have two lingering injuries from many years as a professional martial artist. My left shoulder has limited movement and one finger on my left hand locks up.
Both guys were getting results but the amount of pain each session was more than what made sense to me. For me, it was a metaphor that was not working- Experiencing a lot of pain in the treatments, to get over much lesser pain than I feel on a regular basis.
I could not relax during the treatments, which makes the treatments less effective.
I am trying a good massage person currently and she seems to be slowly helping.
Again, thanks for your thoughtful reply.

A very cheap and nice guest house is Cumpun Guest House. They have a website.
Well located.
If you stay there, tell them Charlie from Chiang Mai sent you.

Ok, yes, so acupuncture has already been shown as an alternative.
My problem with acupuncture here so far-
I have been to two different guys here, each with a vocal group of fans, and both of them hurt me a lot. I had about 12 treatments with each of them, and they both speak some English, AND I did not have any serious condition. I very much understand the need to get energy running, but at least one-three needles a treatment, with each of them, when they "twizzle" the needle it send an electric type jolt down my leg (either leg) that is quite painful, and I would scream out in pain. I asked them both to do less of that, but neither one of them really listened and they would both chuckle some most times.

I forgot to mention before-
I have a friend here in Chiang Rai who had a stroke that sounds similar to what the original poster described, and he has gotten truly gratifying results from acupuncture.
Really impressive!

There is a great form of physical therapy that comes from the States, relating to recovering from strokes.
The basic process is that the patient is ONLY allowed to use the limb(s) that have been negatively effected from the stroke.
In other words if the right arm is affected the left arm is wrapped next to the body so it cannot be used. Very hard for a person to do something with the effected limb, but apparently this method has great results if stuck to over time.
Sorry to not know the name of this therapy. I think it is from a researcher in Georgia.
When I read about it a while ago, it seemed to be well documented.

Wow, am I calculating correctly?
Maybe about $1,600 as a late fee?

Again, I am just trying to get educated, and not looking to scare anyone.....
Here-
Schistosomiasis is a disease of poverty that leads to chronic ill-health. Infection is acquired when people come into contact with fresh water infested with the larval forms (cercariae) of parasitic blood flukes, known as schistosomes. The microscopic adult worms live in the veins draining the urinary tract and intestines. Most of the eggs they lay are trapped in the tissues and the body’s reaction to them can cause massive damage.
And-
Public health authorities report no new human cases of S. mekongi and await WHO evaluation and verification. Cases were previously reported in the region of Chong Mek (near the confluence of the Mun and Mekong rivers) in Ubon Ratchathani province on the border with Laos. Snail intermediate host: Neotricula aperta.

So, I am thinking this should not be a problem in my area, which is Chiang Rai.
Anyone with further thoughts or knowledge?

Here. I found this post from someone to me, a while ago...
Wiki says
The life cycles of Schistosoma japonicum and Schistosoma mansoni are very similar. In brief, eggs of the parasite are released in the feces and if they come in contact with water they hatch into free-swimming larva, called miracidia. The larva then has to infect a snail of the genus Oncomelania such as species of Oncomelania hupensis within one or two days. Inside the snail, the larva undergo asexual reproduction through a series of stages called sporocysts. After the asexual reproduction stage cercaria (another free-swimming larva) are generated in large quantities, which then leave (shed into the environment) the snail and must infect a suitable vertebrate host. Once the cercaria penetrates the skin of the host it loses its tail and becomes a schistosomule. The worms then migrate through the circulation ending at the mesenteric veins where they mate and start laying eggs. Each pair deposits around 1500 – 3500 eggs per day in the vessels of the intestinal wall. The eggs infiltrate through the tissues and are passed in the feces.
So... people pooping in rivers etc. can be a big factor.
Trying to imagine a possible chain here...
Snails would need to be infected in nearby water, and then the infected snail would need to make it into the swimming pool, yes?
Perhaps the first question then becomes- What is the likelihood of such parasites in the area I live in? -
I am quite vague on the specifics, but since I have a similar interest, I read a long time ago that in certain parts of the world, their are organisms (was it snails?) that can bring serious infection into the water. Sorry to not be able to be more precise. Not sure where to point you for further info.

There is a nice red Aussie wine that Tesco sells, called Laughing Bird.
Comes in a very large bottle and is only B399. I have had people over for dinner and they said "Wow, nice wine, what is it."
Give it a try.

So, I am an American, and I have a document from the Social Security office stating my yearly "income" from them.
Am I going to have to get this document verified by someone?
-
And oh, the form did ask about vehicle ownership, and I just left it blank, and they did not ask anything.
-
Office officially opens at 8:30 but get there earlier and they will take you.
I was in at 8:15 and out by 8:30.
Friendly, helpful staff, and they also recognize me.
This time around I needed a photo, and I don't remember that before.
And there is now a two page form to fill out.
You need the name, address, etc. of a Thai national that they can contact if necessary.
They asked (optional) for social media contact details, and I gave nothing. I did give them my email address.
The form also asks for places you frequent regularly!
I put nothing and the guy said, "Would you mind putting down Central and Big C?"
I said "Sure. No worries."
Also need an address from your home country.
I said I didn't have one.
He said to put down the last place I lived.
I did not fill in all the details, because I could not remember, but I gave a basic address.
All fine!

In my case, I have a document from the Japanese government stating what I get from them every year.
This document only comes once a year and will be more than six months old when I need to extend.
What to do?
And related- Do I need to make a written statement in English stating what the document says, and then get both the original document and my statement notarized?
-
Wonderful info!!!
Thanks!

I never filed FBAR until two years ago, when my accountant said "You better start."

Re-entry permit in Chiang Rai airport?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I am assuming I cannot get a re-entry permit at Chiang Rai airport, am I correct?
I will be flying to BKK and then off to Japan from there, and not enough time in BKK to mess with a re-entry permit.
So I am assuming I will need to go to Immigration ahead of time.
