So, Billy big-time folds up like a wet paper bag, like all aggressive bullies do once confronted; perhaps he will now go back to Kansas and start adding to his string of felonies, which so far include drink driving, drugs, 4 firearms charges and impersonating a Federal Agent ……
And still we have apologists for this disingenuous reprobate on here.
Is there any truth to this?
Has someone checked and the guy has a record?

Seems to me like this- The guy goes into a restaurant and is outraged that he can't bring in his own drink without a fairly stiff corkage fee, so he decides to "get even" and now it turns out that he is faced to realize what an <deleted> he has been. Where in the civilized world can you bring in your own drink without paying a fee? In most countries you would not even be allowed to bring in your own booze, no matter what. After all, the restaurant owner is attempting to make a living! So for instance, in Manhattan (a fairly large city) you would quickly be told "No way" and you would be free to leave of course, but their is not a restaurant in all of Manhattan that will allow you to bring in your own alcohol, even with a corkage fee.
Imagine going into a ribs restaurant and brining your own ribs, and just wanting to order a salad and fries!!
Do I agree with the guy getting arrested?
No.
But this only happened because he was an <deleted>.
JUST my opinion of course!

There is a small food give-away activity in Chiang Rai, run by the Chiang Rai Expat Club, and it will run into the middle of Oct. or so.
People ARE very much in need.

Not sure about recently, but the Russians have been huge players in the used car market for years. Lots of cars go there after being stolen (high end models) and lots go there legitimately, but still within Russia the Russian mafia is very much involved. So somehow all of that experience winds up being used in Thailand.

Might be living more in a cave than I thought.
I thought that people from certain countries were let in these days.
So, currently basically still zero tourists!
Ok, thanks for the info.

Oh wow, no tourists at all allowed yet?
Geez, didn't know that!
Thanks,

My daughter, with a Japanese passport wants to come and visit me in Chiang Rai.
Anyone know for sure, exactly what the current restrictions are?

Not at all claiming this to be "the" answer, but I am 72 and I take a supplement called Prostate Support by Now (see herb) and I went from getting up 2-3 times a night to rarely getting up once.
But as others have suggested, there could be other factors involved.

I look at ads here with people selling units for 15mil and MORE, and often the prices seem like they are quite inflated, and I can't imagine anyone paying the asking price.
Is this mostly because I don't really understand the market, or....??
Especially when I see places selling for in excess of 30 mil, I say, "holy mackerel, are people really spending more than $US 1 mil for a house here?!?!"

This is an excellent article. Please have a read.

Beers and Rest. is owned by a husband and wife. I would be quite surprised if they are now separated, and they always seem to get along quite well. But maybe....

In Chiang Rai today I needed to show the bank book pages for 3 months after my last extension as well as the two months prior to this extension.
-
Oh well, I thought getting a new visa would restart the clock on my 90 day reporting, but that is not the case.
-
For the time being... extended until April 30th, so I thought why not get it done.
Bank book wise-
Turns out that now they want the last three months after your previous extension, as well as the two months prior to your coming extension. My bank was happy to comply.
They said my TM7 was not current so I had to fill out a new one, but I could not tell how the new one was any different.
Lately in Chiang Rai, they make you come back in the afternoon to pick up your PP with the new visa.
They are doing a good job of being "clean". They make you wash your hands before you go in, one at a time, and they take your temperature. I believe masks are required. Almost certain.

Hi all,
I live in Chiang Rai.
Is this what I need to renew my Non-O with retirement extension?
Completed TM7- Printed 2 sided, and gotten at Immigration office. How many "side" or pages is the latest form?
Do I need to fill in a Thai contact person on the form?
Passport-
Passport photo page, visa, entry stamp, current extension and all other pages that have something for Thailand on it.
TM6 departure card COPY
Bring my Bank book-
COPY of bank book pages for the last two months. (Provided by the bank)
COPY of Bank book ID page
Letter from Bank confirming balance and statement.
Photos- 1 required, 2 would be best, just in case 4 X 6 cm.
Proof of residence, and a COPY of the rental contract.
Anything else?
TIA,
Charlie

Thanks Joe.
That is what I was guessing.

Non-O retirement extension.
Same province.
If I show new address will I need to show a copy of the house book?
IF I show new address, but no house book copy, and say the owner is out of the country, then what might happen?
-
One more thought-
Would it make sense to just show my old address for now?
-
I have moved to a new house, owned by the same Thai person. I need to extend my visa in five days time, and the owner is stuck out of the country.
Will I need a copy of the house book to show my residence?
-
turns out it is made in an electric fired oven. I bought from them yesterday, and will not go back.....
-
Is it made in a wood fired oven?
Looks like it!!
-
We can extend again, as far as 30 days in advance?
Joe, do you have a similar doc for Non-O on a retirement extension?

Wow, an outstanding arrest warrant puts it all in context for me!
This guy seems like he might be competing for idiot of the year!
If so, he might have the early lead!
