Do I have to get the bank to show my bank book for the entire year?
-
Thanks so much folks!
I am on my sixth year here. I had a money issue a year ago (maybe due to my misunderstanding?) and I did a Mae Sai border crossing and immediately back, and then got my new visa after that.
Am I good to go with 2 months? My account never went below B500,000

My Non-O for retirement ends on April 22.
My bank account had the proper amount of money in the bank starting on Jan. 25 2020.
Can I go to immigration a few days late, and show them the money in the bank for Jan 25-April 25?
TIA,
Charlie

The tourist was staying at my friend's house. The friend did nothing when the tourist left for a few days and then came back. The tourist went in for an extension and got fined.
So ok, this is possible, but wow I take this to be really bad if a country is looking to create a friendly environment for tourists!

Someone on a METV supposedly got fined for not alerting Immigration about his going in and out of the country.
Is this possible?

A friend of mine has a friend visiting...
He is on a METV.
He wound up getting fined by immigration for not reporting via TM30 movement in and out of the country.
Is this really possible?

Good people and good food!

Back several years ago my money slipped below the proper minimum for about 3 hours, and they forced me to leave the country and start over again. This was for my retirement extension. They quickly scan every line of your bank book, and it doesn't seem to matter to them if you are below the minimum for a very short amount of time.
And yes, depending on the official you get, your mileage might vary. The official I got knew me, but he said he had no choice, "because the law is the law" and he would be putting his career in serious jeopardy if he did not report me.

About 40 minutes out of town, I believe Regallo is the best.
Some people have liked Food Wishes, (IF that is the right name) in Bandu. I had a mixed experience there.

So it seems that you have to bring your bank book with you at the first 90 day extension. Yes?
-
Ok, I didn't know that only 2 months prior to extension and 3 months afterward.
Thanks.

I read this-
DeeMoney transfer and currency exchanges are fully transparent (the rates are updated on the app, website, and the company’s Facebook page daily) and as close to the real mid-market exchange rate as possible.
Please show me where it says "interbank exchange rate".
-
Good to know that their rates tend to not be as good as banks!
Thanks

I do not currently have al Elite visa but I am thinking about it-
Here is my thinking- I have a fund I have been investing in that has been returning 10-12% per year for several years now Let's say 10% for easy calculations.
B800,000 = roughly US$25,000 these says.
So if I invest that in the fund I have my other money in, or research another fund, I can likely make $2,500 a year on the $25,000, but of course no guarantees.
$2,500 = roughly B75,000.
Keeping to five years for the Elite visa at B500K, my first year would be close to a wash, since I had to pay B500K all in one clump, as compared to keeping it i the bank and getting close to zero interest. After that, I make about $2,500 in investing my $25,000, while averaging a yearly spend of $3,000 with Thai Elite. Close to a wash depending on a lot of unknowns.
So for such a small difference in money, Thai Elite is starting to make a good deal more sense to me.
What do you think?
