Macron appears to be making the right moves just now but he needs a substantial number of M.P's in the coming elections, being in the somewhat unique position of starting with none.

Time will tell if the French people will accept his total enthusiasm for the EU and, more importantly, his proposed liberation of employment laws designed to help corporations to hire and fire.  The French people have a history of rioting in the streets for much less than that.   However, they did vote for him, so we shall have to wait and see.

When you see the professional experience of most of the different ministers ( even the work minister is appreciated by CFDT, first Union in France ) , we can hope good results , this time they don't come from politic world , but from the civil world , it means they know what they speak about

During the last 30 years, not a single French start-up company managed to get into the CAC 40, just compare this to the US, Singapore etc.., hey people !!, these euro policies does not work, there were an experiment in Portugal where the local government gave zero tax incentive to corporations and could not create a single job, the reason given ,Portugal could never ever compete with Germany as long as they have the same currency, those countries(Greece, etc..) needs massive devaluation in order to attract investments again. Argentina recovered successfully from the financial crash but not Greece guess why ? because it does not have its own currency.

France needs a genius politician who mix and match between liberal and protectionist policies according to the situation just like Switzerland does, otherwise how do u explain the low unemployment rate, more submission to Brussels wont solve any problems, the EU is doomed to failure Italy, Greece and Portugal are time-bomb that will explode sooner or later. imagine if Thailand had Japanese yen as its currency ?? think of the horrible consequences of that ?

555: I just wonder : what means your avatar ? EUCCP : You are Russian, friend of Putin? ; I understand your bitterness

of course we don't know what will happen now in June for the legislatives but what is important just now is that Le Pen (maybe you don't know because maybe you don't understand French , but as everybody says, she is stupid ) and FN have lost

I just hope that FN and equivalent in Europe will disapear for ever

3BB has always automatically upgraded my package when the speed at that price point has been increased.

Sent from my Cray II supercomputer

True, 2 years ago, I was with 3BB adsl and I had an upgrade from them for the same price ( I learned it when reading this forum, I checked the speed and it was true )

Until now we haven't made any contact with TOT to complain but our Fibreoptic 599THB/m has now changed from 15/2mbps to 35/16mbps for same price. No complaints with that, so thanks TOT!

I wonder if I have not the same thing . I got a 30/15 fiber connection ( 750 bahts ) last september , today, after reading this thread, I made a test with speed test, and I have 50.4/19.35 for the same price, nobody told me anything : I can see films in streaming  from Europe several hours, no buffer at all . did TOT upgrade my connection , free ?

    Thanks

LOL…the french turned out to be bigger pu##ies than i thought.

All the interviews I have seen on the Beeb involve frenchies who think macron is

not the answer but voted for him anyway because they were too scared to give le pen a chance.

Doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

    Thats the definition of insanity.

In French, we have a proverb ( sorry, I dont' translate in English ,too complicate )

"entre deux maux, autant choisir le moindre "; maybe English have not the same philosophy

one thing Macron was in love with his teacher at 15 , it really is a bit strange , that in Britain there would have been an outcry ,but in France its a love story .

in France, we are not like the " Sun ", we don't speak of political people personal life, it doesn't count to be elected or not

    again, different philosophy

Personally i had hoped Le Pen would win.

She would have been a thorn in the side of the corrupt EU.

Macron will just be the EUs puppet.

    5555

now she will have to go to justice in Europe and France because she has stolen millions of € ; you said " corrupted " 5555  ; who is the most corrupted ? defaitists can say everything they want here, last night they have lost

I don't write messages here anymore about France, I am happy

you can continue to whine, whitout me :post-4641-1156694572:

Similar to the fact that while the UK pays 100's of millions of £'s to continental countries, for medical  treatment to UK citizens. The UK authorities fail to charge or claim for medical treatment obtained by other EU countries.

Difficult to say how many people profit of the situation, but in South east of France, there are thousands of English people who own a house and live in France, because of the CMU ( social security for foreigners ) , they don't pay anything when they go to hospital or doctor; difficult to solve this problem because the system between France and England is very different

I know France very well, which doesn't mean that I am an expert but from what I have seen, this kind of business as usual isn't what is needed.

You say you know France, so explain why ( normally, we''ll see it tonight ) French will choose Macron with a very big score ? in 2002, Le Pen father for the second round  had only 20%

We just don't want far right in France, that's all ; for me, that Germany leads Europe is not a problem; being with a powerful neighbour and friend is better than to be alone , future is union ,  we depend all of each other, more and more, everything which happens somewhere ( for instace USA or North Korea ) has influence on us , even when we live in Thailand, far from our countries

Like I said a while ago, Le Pen won't win this time around because she's too right wing. But the red flag has been raised. And Merkel will instruct her EU goons to ignore the red flag, the same as with the UK. Business as usual. But Le Pen won't be too right wing come the next round of French elections, and her FN party will be the major force in French politics. Things will get very complicated thereafter.

As usual, your stupid comment comes from your hate of Europe , EU and your love of Brexit ; poor guy, stay in your lonely island, it's s better for you  ; as for  me ,  I stay in Europe,  where the future is ( I live in Thailand, but my heart is European )

Quote please! In French if you wish

    Again, bullshit on TV forum

he said " il n'y a pas une culture française, il y a une culture en France et elle est diverse»."

" there is no French culture, there is a culture in France and it is diverse "

it is the opposite of " he also said that there is no such thing as French culture!"

the  intelectuals in France where angry with him after this ; please, before writing something, be sure of it

At least Macron does not need your vote to make ends meet.

At least Macron does not need to "divert" E.U funds to  hire people devoted to other tasks that has nothing to do with E.U but only with french presidential race. The European Parliament began a procedure that could lead to the lifting of Marine Le Pen’s immunity for alleged misuse of European Union funds.

And for your last point.... who cares?  It's none of your business.

for the last point, Johnnyonesock must know  that in France, personnal life doesn't prevent anybody to be elected

I know that , for instance, USA , personnal life can interfer with political career, for instance divorced, homosexual etc ... not in France, private is private : you think Macron will not be elected  because his or her personnal sexual preferences  ?  555

I tell you what I think ; TOUT SAUF LE PEN  ( everybody but Le Pen ) ; it's true she has stolen 5 millions euros from EU, not Macron

Well there's one thing for certain, the citizens of the 27 so called Union states are not in unison in support Of the E.U.. Last week for example, over 41% of the French electorate, voted for candidates who are anti the EU. The same can be said of the Italians,Austrians,Swedish and Dutch.Even in German  there is a growing discontent with this undemocratic disorganization.

    image.jpeg

Funny how people see only one side of the coin; first, you figures show that there is stil a majority of EU who want to stay in EU ( Austria, Netherlands, France, soon Germany ) and you forget your own country ; 48 % of people didn't want Brexit, and second the majority of Ireland and Scotland  wanted to stay in EU ; you are what we call a subjective man ; as we say in French, "look in front of  your  door first "

Europeans share common goal and unity in this negotiation.

Half of the Brits long after the old days, the time when UK ruled India, Australia and Canada along the other commonwealth countries. The glorious Empire times!

The smarter half will adapt to the situation and tries to make the best deal possible for UK.

The brexiters will once again do great damage for future British generations.

I agree with everything oilinki writes ; I am European 100% , I believe in the future of EU and Europe; in 2017 we need to be united, not alone as Britain will be, but don't forget, Britains, it's you have decided to leave

But presumably the litmus test will be pro or anti EU. That seems to polarize the candidates and presumably will do the same for the electorate.

If problem is pro or anti EU, sure Macron wins because a big majority of French want to stay with euro and EU . A poll showed that for French people , economics is more important than Islam and immigration, and finance likes Macron, euro is in a good shape because of the first round last sunday

    For " en marche !", I see it like " let's walk !", "let's go !"because of the "! "  I don't know exactly what " onwards " means

"on the move", yes , but without the " ! "which shows  an imperative

Lets hope Le Pen comes through

Polls are BS as we know after Brexit and Trump and hopefully Le Pen will win and Save france

May be you didn't notice that for the  first round, every poll was right , all said Macron first, 1-2  points ahead of  Le Pen  ; French polls are often right

don't  forget that FN has no political friends, that's why she asks the voices of Dupont-Aignan ( less than 5 % ) : she has the same followers for many years but is unable to get new people ( let's say 30 % , not enough to win ) , people who vote Le Pen are or not much educated people or desesperate people and they believe all her lies and are naive, she is a " bourgeoise ", don't forget , she doesn't care of " le peuple "
