I prefer tiger cubs to be rescued , even if that means their life in captivity

Other and better solution :I've seen documentaries on the internet of facilities where baby animals (not just tigers) are rescued  ( for instance in Africa when mother has been killed ) and bred until they can be released back into the wild (of course you have to make sure that they do not depend on humans for food): obviously, no visitors and selfies in these centers

Sorry Mac, but the fact you think tigers live in herds discounts any view you may have on the subject as educated.

A wooden spoon stirring failure there mate.

Yes, it shows that Mac doesn't know tigers ( he confuses with lions ) tigers are solitary animals, there are looking females only for reproduction, and after they live alone again

as the rest of your posts, you don't seem to know tigers

BTW, here in my village, many many cats, impossible to stroke them , they are with people only to be feed

In the past many farang did this. However, when I made my wills about 3 years ago there were many reports from various expats that the amphurs were not accepting wills for farang any longer, so I didn't try that method. My Thai tirak made a will herself about 2 years ago and that is lodged with the local amphur. So you could try the amphur method, like many things in Thailand maybe some ampurs accept foreign wills and others do not. I did mine with Isarn Lawyers, from memory it cost me about 5000 Bt.

My wife will ask the amphoe if they accept

otherwise, 5000 bahts, it's not expensive ( I have seen one lawyer on Internet who asks 14000 bahts )

you have an e-mail for this lawyer in Issan ( I shall also in my familly in law if they know someone ) ?

I stiil hesitate between lawyer and myself, but 5000 bahts, not expensive !

Can't you just leave your people in Thailand your pin to ATM?

of course, but what about for a fixed deposit ( 800000 bahts, not bad ) , there is not ATM for it

You need a Thai lawyer to draw up the will. Have it translated into English independently to ensure it is what you want.

I can't do it myself, in my language and have it translated in Thai, and go to my amphoe ( as I said above, i know someone who did like this ) ? He also gave the reference of his bank account in his home country, his bank told him it was possible

If you want her to get them, you have to execute a will in her favor. If you don't, it will disappear into government bureaucracy, and it may take years for her to get the money back. If at all.

ok, thanks ... is there on this forum a special thread about making a will ? the forum is so vast, I have seen one day a special post  about it, but very difficult to find it

    thanks

... but have a sizeable bank balance, and when I croak I want tirak to get that dosh, not have it disappear into the bank through some redtape BS.

I have a saving and a fixed deposit account  ; can my wife have them if i write a will for when I am dead ? normallyl, only me have access to my fixed deposit ( not atm card for it )

    thanks

..they know im in thailand but have asked for bank account anywhere that i have so that reads its not only for people living in france ..

How did they ask you ? declaration, letter , mail ? I know it's on the declaration of taxes, but we don't have to fill the case if we don't live in France or Monaco

here is the official text ( of course, only in French , sorry for the moderation )

    Dois-je déclarer les comptes ouverts à l'étranger ? | service-public.fr

first line translated in English( Google translate )

If you are domiciled in France or Monaco, you must declare to the tax authorities the accounts opened, held, used (at least once) or closed during the year abroad.

do you still have to complete a declaration impots? even tho you no longer reside there

Every French pensionner has to fill a "déclaration d'impôts" ( even if " non imposable "  because it's money earned in France, but nothing to pay in Thailand

For the fine of 1500 till 10000 €, it's for people who reside in France and don't declare they have an account abraod ; for me, for instane, I have an account in France but I live permanently in Thailand, so I don't have to declare my counts ( 2 ) here

Why do the French treat their expats so much better than the UK?

I have paye deductions on all my pensions and am still told I can't use the NHS unless I intend to permanently reside in the UK.

Coupled with an entirely unnecessary and expensive Brexit and having to put up with a government of clowns who are more right wing than Le Penn let this be a warning to all French presidential voters this Sunday. And I haven't forgotten that french expats in Thailand were vaccinated by their embassy whereas the UK ambassador said he wasn't the NHS- And that the French embassy still issues income letters whereas the UK Embassy refuses

Let's answer ( I am French and live as a retired in Thailand)

first, it's true that so far and in my experience, our embassy is very helful, fast to answer, and for me, nothing to complain

second, for taxes ; under a certain sum ( about 1300 net € a month, ) we don't have to pay anytax ( it's my case ) ; but if I were in France with the same pension, I would pay taxes ( about 300-400 € )

but over 1300/1400 € , pepole who live  here pay more taxes that if they were in France ( pensionners too )

third, if I understand what you say, you think that to have Le Pen is better than Macron ? Apart Islam , immigration and security, Rassemblement national has nothing to offer ; French are not all stupid, and they will vote for Macron ( I too )

where you live but here in Isaan they are very abrupt and direct, and I think has a lot to do with their very basic / primitive language. Seem to have one word that could apply to many different things....particularIy if to do with something foreign. Like "nom" can be milk in a bottle or breasts. Cow can mean rice or the color white, and I think various other things too.

    I don't know Issan language, but I know Thai language and I don't think it's a basic /primitive language

for "nom" which means "breast" and " milk", every language ( including  English ) has words which have different meanings

for " cow ", you don't seem to know the language well, spelling is different and they are not the same words ( even if for you it's always the same " cow " : in fact, 13 different spellings and meanings, with different pronounciation ) , common in Thai language, but 13 is uncommon I admit

I have a Decathlon Domyos 500 rowing machine and am very happy with it.   You mention about amplitude, I haven't experienced it with mine at all, although what you must do is tighten the locking wheel when dropping the seat leg in position.   If you don't do that there will be some slight movement of the front unit.   It's also very quiet.

    20210901_084850.jpg

The amplitude problem means that the movement does not go far enough forward, as rowers do, which means that forward movement is impossible; look for example from Concept 2, the front is very forward, the Decathlon stops abruptly, which prevents having a forward movement as for rowing
It's the only ( but very important ) problem of this rowing, pity because otherwise it's good and cheap

  12. i am very suspicious, too,  I have sent a message to the seller ( Lee ) to ask why it's so much cheaper than somewhere else : he did'nt answer yet, I doubt he will answer ( or maybe a second hand, but it's not written on the site )

Last time I checked it was 65k but not in stock any place, same price delivered from Malaysia.

Same status I see now but lower price, so they might order for you

Why I have found a much cheaper one here ( 28700 bahts ) ? con it be a "fake" , like some in Lazada or Aliexpress ?

Not sure but if you talk about rowing look at the concept 2 model d

This is one of the best rowers but expect to pay 55k or so.

But buy it once and your set for life.

Its all about what you want to spend. The rowing machines of concept are indestructible.

I find this model at 28000 bahts ; is it the same ? on a review on Youtube, they say it's very noisy ; enough to disturb other people around ? thanks

  15. Hello, I don't know if it's the good forum

if not, could a mod change it for the good place ?

I intend to buy a rowing machine in Thailand ; I am small ( 1m68 , 66 kgs ) ; I have already a Decathon elliptic bike, very satisfied, but for rowing, i have read that their rowing machines ( 120 and 500 ) have a small front amplitude, so I would like an other brand

Lazada  have some, or somewhere else : nordictrack r800 seems very good, but are they available in Thailand ?

    Thanks

Whether buying or renting...ABS a good point to consider...

ABS will save your ass from the Thai driving style.....daily.

If you stay in Thailand, buy , of course ; i have a nmax Yamaha, ABS, cheap to maintain, no punctures , only tyres and oil to change ( every 4000 kms for oil )
