  1. Its the same day as her birthday so she says. Well if she doesn't go she can be found guilty in her absence just like the rest of her crooked family.
  2. I find this a bit strange when the data reports I have seen say single parent black families are a very high percentage in the US (and other counties), and many of the kids with a mother as parent have different fathers. In the 1960 there was a wonder drug called the contraceptive pill and since then there are other treatments to stop conception without condoms. Promiscuity without precaution is very bad news for kids and those many fathers dedicated to their children.
  3. So many of this type of post are subjects of the usual problem in Thailand: Inconsistency. With every authority here it depends on who, when and where as much as the regulations. Some times that is good news, other times it is bad both to differing degree depending on the circumstances. All part of the fun!
  4. Passports don't have an address on them. You can renew an expired driving licence from overseas. I did it earlier this year.
  5. Poker is not a sport it is a game. You need no physical ability to play.
  6. This article looks like an advert for his book to me. How many books are there about the pitfalls of moving to Thailand? I have no intentions of buying his book. I have lived in Thailand and worked here on and off since 1991 and had been on holiday many times before. When did he move, before or shortly after 2007-8 ?
  7. Shock Horror! Thailand isn't going to put the price UP for once when they have less customers!
  8. Another misleading headline that states: "tests now mandatory", which is not true, yet... I took the test 30 years ago and passed but I have lost my licence card. Can I get a new one? Enforcing this could be very detrimental to tourism. I wonder what the percentage foreign nationals is in the cause of road accident figures?
  9. "National Justice" she says, that's a laugh. Her father seems to have got away with mass murder among other things he was convicted for but spent less than an hour in prison. The elderly couple caught gathering mushrooms were locked up for two years or more and Red Bull heir who killed a policeman is still, as the local press say "in self imposed exile".
  10. Two far left leaning publications that don't bother with foreign (non financial) trivial news stories.
  11. I would suggest what is wrong with the article is the headline. The article points out the obsession Thai governments has to shoot itself in the foot with ill-considered schemes or proclamations, and the unthinkable loosing face by U-turning. There is some hope but the alternative venues for retirement look better every year. I have always resisted buying property here as it is a closed market to foreigners with high prices, short term leases or dodgy deals. The latest wealth threat to hit us is the Income Tax scheme, and the news on that is "no news" 18 month into the proposed change. Vietnam, Cambodia or the Philippines is fine by me if the Thai billionaires who run the country don't want us.
  12. "The Revenue Department of Thailand is gearing up to draft new legislation..." Here we go again, back on the roundabout of ifs, whens and buts.
