It would be medical cannabis without THC according to the guidelines, which is not the medical marijuana available in the west, and certainly not what I would need or accept. Tourists are also not going to obtain it as medical weed.

Pit Bull Mixed-Breed Dog Attacks, Seriously Injures Five-Year-Old Girl

Khao San Road in a Frenzy as Authorities Crack Down on Laughing Gas
Spock replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I don't think age has much to do with it. Some people including me at 70 are not averse to taking a drug to enhance pleasure in life. Weed in fairly small amounts is about all I require these days. I assume you are also a non drinker, because if not, you are being hypocritical saying that you don't understand people taking drugs. -
Hard to believe you would actually forsake eating at a favourite restaurant because the smell of a joint might waft your way! I am not so sure that the smells from the shops or of people smoking privately are in fact detectable from the streets. I did not once smell weed in the month I spent in Thailand last year - Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, and I myself am a user. Seemed to me that everyone abided by the regulations as to where smoking was allowed. None of the many shops I entered or encountered had an outdoor seating area. Maybe Phuket does but it is a tourist area so demand is probably high, and theoretically tourists would not be allowed to smoke it legally on their hotel balconies or smoking areas. I had so much trouble finding places to smoke last year that I have opted to stay in an apartment building from last year simply because I was able to smoke or rather vape on the balcony there last year.

Pita Declares His Readiness to Succeed Srettha as Prime Minister

How can he possibly become PM after last time? I thought his party had been disbanded or disallowed because of its lese majeste policy. Thai politics is difficult to follow and understand. -

Apology from Pattaya Pub Guards after Assault on Tourists

It was the same in Patong when I lived there 6 months in the 90s. Twice had my beer bottle snatched from my table and broken over someone's head. -

If they haven't realised by now they never will. -
And then they beat and kick them to death or close to it and that's fair enough is it? ! In this case you are making assumptions that the incident occurred because the farangs disrespected the culture. Not that you have any idea that this is true, but it supports your irrational belief that Thais can do no wrong. It's a bit laughable anyway suggesting that culture and genuine local ways can be found within a girlie bar in Pattaya.

They are no doubt tourists. Do you expect foreigners coming for a holiday to be aware of the subtle nuances of Thai society and behaviour? Bouncers in tourist areas need to act with restraint and professionalism and defuse rather than inflame situations that they are called on to sort out. These guys are out of control thugs and to suggest that tourists bring a severe beating on themselves by yelling is an absolute nonsense, the sort of crap that a certain unfortunate sector of expats and others tend to spout each time an incident like this occurs.

Man high on marijuana crashes car, cuddles pets & smiles at cops

An awful article from a junk media source that produces no proof of type or severity of impairment. Just another cheap shot at legalised weed. -
Cannabis crackdown: Only marijuana buds return to the blacklist
Spock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The plants will be treated like flowers were in the Adams Family home, with the buds cut off and thrown away and the stalks retained for God knows what purpose. Stalks, seeds, leaves and oils with no THC are not going to support a medical marijuana market. -
Cannabis crackdown: Only marijuana buds return to the blacklist

It might have many uses, but one of them is not getting you stoned. You ever hear of anyone using seed, stems and roots to get high? -
Cannabis crackdown: Only marijuana buds return to the blacklist
Spock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes it would. Only the buds have THC which is what is tested for. The rest of the plant is utterly useless even for medical purposes. Medical marijuana in Australia is largely about bud and potent ones too. No one is going to buy any medical product that is devoid of THC. No one in the business or who uses would have been relieved by this decision as claimed in the poorly conceived article. It 's a disaster for all concerned. I coming in July for a month and this will no doubt be my last opportunity to buy buds. Pretty sure this will be my last visit as the illegal stuff is much easier to get hold of in neighbouring countries. -

What a fun person you would be! Obviously not a veteran of the early days of travelling Thailand. -
What has that got to do with being stabbed by five men? Surely the tourist is entitled to be wherever he likes whenever he likes on vacation. I can think of plenty of reasons why a foreigner might do an all nighter. Get sick of reading comments suggesting the English guy is at fault.
