  1. I might be lucky, I live on 5 Rai, surrounded by a mix of small farms, high end villas, and a few small housing estates.

The locals burn stuff, and also on the land I live, but I always assumed they did it when the wind was favorable as to not disturb. It always fascinated me as one of the niceties of Thailand though I never inquired about it. Why would I, it seems respectful to the neighbors.

I've witnessed a big pile of whatever being built up maybe 30 meters from my house, sat for days, and burned in correct winds away from the local inhabitants.

  2. it this what a Banned stamp in passport would look like ? this is 2010. cant find any new ones 2016 be nice to see some, to see what they would look like

This appears to be a phony photoshopped photo. Too little info and nothing in Thai. Very lame troll attempt.

    good job

    Terrible photshop

  3. Failure to follow those options and (assuming you are working legally) the department of labour will defend you (even as foreigner) and take the company to court (for free) if needed.

Would LOVE to see real-world proof of your assertion smile.png

Actually, the Department of Labour does have a good reputation in this respect. Indeed, it is not uncommon for employers to complain that the DoL is over zealous in defending the rights of workers. Strange I know since in Thailand the rich can usually get away with anything.

Links please, especially in regards to a foreigner facing a reduced salary smile.png

  4. ever hear of comprehension you obviously failed . taking euro out.

Yes I failed. Considering you never said Euros, but thats aside from the point.

You can open a foreign currency account at Bangkok Bank.

Information required when sending funds abroad
To transfer funds overseas you will need the following information:
    • The recipient’s account name, account number and address
    • The name and address of the recipient’s bank
    • The SWIFT address of the bank that they have an account with (if any)
    • Supporting document (Thai citizens – A document stating the purpose of the fund transfer; Foreigners - A document stating the source of the income).

    As far as fees

    0.25% of the transfer value

(minimum 200 Baht, maximum 500 Baht)

You are faced with a maximum 500 Baht Fee.

    But hey, <deleted> do I know :)

  5. Maybe just carry 20,000USD ?

    Incredibly simple

not convenient or prudent to switch into USD then back to the original currency when you want to use it. lose to much of the double exchange

assuming just 1 percent loss, that is 200 dollars lost on USD 20000 but you are looking at closer to 5 percent depending on where you do the conversions.

So you are leaving Thailand with 20k usd in Thai Baht, Then you will take it somewhere where it will be useless, and return back to Thailand with said 20k usd in Thai Baht?

    Ever heard of a bank?

  6. I apologise TacoHell... You jumped the thread..... Sangsom is not my preferred beverage.... Thus , I do not get into altercations.....;Cheers!

Apology accepted. I also follow your philosophy, and it seems this Frenchman should follow the same. Never get into an altercation you know you're going to lose.

    Cheers!

  7. Never mentioned racist. Reading the report....the guys name has been withheld.....He actually could be an every day Jean Pierre average fellow..... Lets wait & see, before jumping to the conclusion that he's not just white......Maybe you are correct......maybe you are not.... Please forgive me, I don't understand your last line......( I am at all mixing with Thai women)..Cheers!

The deceased name is Akim Boukstbbouma . Google it :)

  8. they have made you new offer and its yours to take or not, if you decline the new contract, you have effectively resigned

    No, totally wrong.

If you decline the new offer the old one is as valid as ever. That's like saying if you decline a promotion you have resigned, same logic, equally wrong, never the case.

Based on this tot could raise prices of Internet to 1 million baht per month despite signed agreements and we have to pay or cancel? Not even in Thailand!

When a contract ends, renegotiation is optional, but mid term it's binding. And unless employment was time based, contracts not over until fired, quit or made redundant.

If you decline the new offer they have to either fire you (with valid reason), pay you redundancy if they want you gone (rate set by length of service), force you to quit (illegal harassment) or keep you on your current agreement.

Failure to follow those options and (assuming you are working legally) the department of labour will defend you (even as foreigner) and take the company to court (for free) if needed.

Would LOVE to see real-world proof of your assertion :)

  10. I don't know, seems more than meets the eye.

If a Thai guy intentionally drives his motorbike into some tourists, there must be a reason even if and likely illogical.

The article really isn't clear if it was an accident, "drove into them" and then was easily able to produce a knife and stab.

My GUESS is these guys did some shady business, like taking a lady and not paying or worse which can't be mentioned here.

pretty hard to get stabbed by a Thai unless you are way out of line.

    My 10 years worth.

  11. Thai women upset with Thai man, gives the scissors to the mistress, 500baht fine

Thai women upset with Farang, gently stabs herself, fake doctors report, 50,000THB.

I have been on this road before. Rent only.

I was dating an Issan girl once who had a shopping list a mile long,

so to please her please me i would buy her trinkets to shut her up

keep her happy, now i would laugh at the above post if it wasn't for

the fact that she said the same thing to me '' if you don't do / buy

for me blah blah blah, i can call some bad police and put you in jail ''

i'm thinking, is this how my life will be in Thailand, my future wife,

the mother of my children ? i planned an exit and i was gone and

still here to tell the tale.

I was married to a USA woman. In the process of the divorce, she listed MY business for sale in the WSJ. That was insane as I didn't know and only found out as one of my partners saw the ad.

    God bless her.

Nothing to say bad, but she'd probably have gotten more mileage by stabbing the crazy coke whore I was at the time smile.png

BTW my ex USA wife is set up for life, no children with her, she has not lifted a finger in her existence.

    If only she had stabbed.............
