Kaboom, and unless there is now a need and specific reason to get to Thailand it appears the UK folks will not be heading here to Vacation. Today will also see the CCSA reduce restrictions in preparations for opening the country in the near future. Unfortunately, for tourism issues it will only be domestic tourism for now, but hey I hope to be able to visit Phuket again as well as a few other locales instead of being just stuck in BKK. As always traveling safely by my own vehicle and ensuring my family is safe as well. Maybe by mid 2022 or for 2022's high season the country will still be around and not destroyed by this government. On another note, the shopping markets have been obviously depleted of the imported foods as many shelves in Villa, Gourmet foods, and Tops have many empty shelves and freezer sections.

However, there are many that say unless a PCR test and confirmation has been done then the death will just be another one classified as a unknown cause.

Chasing the cases instead of getting out ahead and in front by doing mass testing as we discussed back in April for here in Bangkok. Not all are retested using the PCR test unless they need to be admitted to a hospital or facility. Until then they self isolate at home taking the meds the government has given them.

If you believe the numbers they post and not being open and transparent, but then that is my view. Many believe the numbers are actually correct or for that matter even to high, but then who really knows. One thing is for sure and that is that the vaccinations are lacking and far behind the other other countries, and many of those in say the US and UK that are now falling ill are the unvaccinated......

Unfortunately, they will never add in the ATK positive tests, and will never tell how many folks that are in the Bubble and Seal locations have tested positive as well. In my view they are trying very hard to whitewash the case numbers and see if they do not drop as far as the numbers of walk-ins and community cases they have tested for. When they decide to only undertake the ATK tests and slowly move away from PCR tests unless folks are admitted to a hospital then the numbers will drop even more. However, another true metric for cases is the numbers in the field hospitals and hospitels that daily keep intaking more folks for treatment. I would like to know all of the field hospitals and hospitels, what the capacity they have at each one and how many are currently being treated. They can not keep pushing this under the carpet. If the numbers were truly waning then they would be trumpeting the closure of field hospitals and stating how magnificent of a job they have done at stopping this wave. Of course this is my view only and if you take what some doctors in the rural communities are saying in relation to cases and such then you can see that only half truths are being spouted by this Government. Just be clear and transparent Anutin, MOPH and Prayut. Tell us how many are truly positive as one total and then tell us what the numbers need to be for you to take the risk to open up the country instead of hiding behind the false walls put up. All people want to know is the true numbers, the locations of the spread and how they can do the best to stay safe and keep their families safe. I am not just talking about Expats here, I am talking about all people residing in Thailand. Sure there are many who do not care and just want to open up no matter the number of cases, but even then unless mass vaccinations have occurred then opening up is a mute point as the infections will spread unabated at that point. Sure vaccinated tourists do not pose a problem to the residents of Thailand, rather it is the other way around. At the end of the day we all need to be our own keeper and protect ourselves and families. Stay safe folks and keep abreast of the ever changing landscape of cases so you can understand what's occurring around you. As of yesterday Udon Thani's cases had gone from below 100 two days ago to over 200, effectively doubling in two days time. Lets see what todays provincial numbers show.

When my now ex and I moved back to the US/California, she obtained her DL but had to take the written test as well as do a driving test even though she had and was still licensed here in Thailand. The insurance company only accepted her 10 years of driving as having been driving for 1 and the insurance rates for the car I had increased as long as she was driving it. I always keep my license valid for the states even though I live here, it has been easy to renew on-line, but I am sure when I turn 62 and my current license expires I will have to go into a DMV and take a vision test as well as a new written. Insurance companies are another creature all to themselves.....wish the OP well and hope he gets it sorted. My Ex could never get Thailand to give her proof of being licensed like you can in the States.

Claims and promises by Prayut. When has ever fulfilled any of those promises. Has he returned happiness to the people, has he stopped the corruption, and better yet has he succeeded in helping out the lesser than people who are caught in this terrible Covid closure of the country and who have lost everything? He claimed that covid would be contained, he claimed that it was 100% under control, and then he encouraged travel during Songkran and said "It will be what it will be", his claims and promises ring hollow, and he has brought the people to the boiling point, but instead of seeing the error of his ways he has the police summons the parents of the protestors who are minors. Sad state of affairs and my heart goes out to the people of the country I now call my home.
