So the minister has ORDERED these things be done, lets see what happens now.
haha indeed. i have a friend who works directly for the minister of transport, a few years ago we were discussing the dangerous van drivers as it was in the news due to a spate of accidents. i told my friend the minister should do something, she said he had, he had told the van drivers to be more careful(!), and that's was the job done.

Favorite free tool for actual photo edits at the moment. Photoshop EXPRESS (NOT PHOTOSHOP, Photoshop is too techy for me)
(I use the iphone version, but there is desktop too) https://www.adobe.com/photoshop/online/photo-editing.html
For easy and free Graphic design: https://www.canva.com/
i've been using lightroom free for mobile for a while, it's good but the screen small... i've just tried this online version and it's pretty good.

here we were thinking 1200 tourists per month was a measly amount, but in reality they can't even find 10% of that number wanting to visit...

OP when you've been longer in thailand, or have become more aware of how things work here, then you'll know thailand has pretty ineffective sales of goods and services legislation, and even if it did have fit for purpose legislation there is the issue if being able to enforce such legislation in a fundamentally corrupt culture. caveat emptor.
in my home country warranties and guarantees work well.

Their time & efforts would be better spent focusing on those that want to come back (still leaving at 14 days quarantine).
At present running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
There are enough people that have had or still have long term visas, have money already in Thailand, own or long term rental
accommodation & would be easy to manage along with spending once back
all true and very obvious, other countries seem to manage it...

Thailand may get some vaccine for those treating covid, about 100-200 doses I imagine, but if it does not all go to health professionals but instead is used by others, Oxford and the UK will close the door very quickly
agree, the vaccine should be prioratised for essential workers, the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions. a cynic may say that as there is so little virus in thailand they would not be a priority country for the vaccine. but i couldn't possibly comment.

just saying having 15k euros in your bank account for six months isntt the most astute of financial management decisions... maybe you disagree, but as they say; up to you...fyi; i have plenty of saving, they are invested and making me a very nice income, thanks ???? and i'm not stranded, i'm exactly where i want to be.- 4

comments like this say more about you than the people of thailand. my thai friends are well educated with professional jobs, most speak very good english, many have bachelor and/or master degrees from western universities (have you attained a degree in a second language?), they are widely travelled and well informed.
if you stepped out of the bar and discovered the real thailand and its wonderful people you'd be able to make better informed comments.

there's more to thailand than the poor, often uneducated, farmers and their families. get out of the bar and find the real thailand, it's a great place and great people.

not that excellent as someone could put on a mask to pass through the machine and then take the mask off... about as effective as a mall security guard, or a chocolate teapot...

with almost daily changes and/or postponements i'd let things settle down and allow the various government departments and agencies get their head round what's going on before investing any money or time in coming to thailand for a holiday/returning to thailand.

Hmm, assuming these Chinese tourists are actually locked up for 2 weeks what difference does it make what festival is going on outside.
now, now, you're applying logic, common sense and reality to the situation, that's simply not acceptable.

No way would I contemplate this absurd STV.
that makes sense to you and me but the government wants to placate the tourist sector and Non O retirement extensions dont tick that box.
foreigners are not wanted in thailand while the pandemic exists, STVs only came about to reduce the criticism and complaints from the tourist sector. it's all about domestic politics.

Tell her not more to do the "open door-lock door" service and pay her, what she gets from her boss for this service.
Problem solved.
good idea, take away her self respect and boost your ego by 'taking care of' (controlling) her. she's thai, she's worked for the company for years, she knows what's acceptable and not acceptable, she's an adult and able to make her own decisions. butt out and let her deal with it.

sorry you're having problems but such situations can easily be avoided. i've lived in several apartments and never had any issues, i dont know of any friends who have had problems either. i recommend putting effort and research into where you choose to live, check places out, speak to people who live there, if you have friends ask for recommendations. my current apartment block is managed extremely well; the owners are educated and speak english, courteous staff who speak passable english, good security, any problems are sorted efficiently by in house staff, anyone causing noise or other problems gets one warning and is then evicted. there are good places out there.

oh it will, this stuff is for domestic consumption, they want to be seen to be doing something, even if it's ridiculous, it keeps the people from complaining too much. this is all about internal domestic politics.
