  1. The UK Embassy stopped providing the required letters some years ago. From your response I understand that for the first 12 month whilst money is being deposited from abroad I have to find another type of visa as I would not initially have such a record. Again no mention of the combination of income plus deposit.
  2. Thanks Dr. Jack, I am aware of the income requirements. My query is related to being able to use the combination of pension income and amount deposited in a Thai bank.
  3. Instead of depositing 800k in a bank. If I provide proof that I am receiving a Pension income exceeding 800k how much do I need to deposit in a Thai bank?
  4. I might be mistaken, I have been under the impression that to be granted a Annual Retirement visa one has to prove an income of 800k per annum and this could be in the form of a Pension Income paid regularly. If the pension income is below this level then funds deposited in a Thai Bank making up the difference must be deposited and retained. I am querying this as i have noticed that all recent responses regarding this Visa type have ignored this option. Is it still available? Rick
  5. The Tourism Authority of Thailand says 78,523 Malaysian visitors entered the kingdom in the first 5 months of the year. But the Minister failed to take into account that the vast majority of the travellers from Malaysia, particularly through the southern immigration turnstiles, were just day traders and locals going about their daily life – not tourists.????????
  6. LOL, corruption in Thailand is righteous already. Why change the status quo?
  7. It is not the eVisa system but online access to the Embassy which is the block. One has to login to the Embassy for all sorts of transactions.
  8. i recently posted an item regarding my inability to sign in online to the London Embassy. I had forgotten my password and used the link provided to obtain a code on my phone so that i might continue with the need to sign in. The promised code was never received. Rather than trying to sort out their IT deficiencies I received today an email advising me that i will have to create a new gmail or hotmail a/c. in order to proceed with my application to obtain a visa. Anyone else having online communication problems with this Embassy?
  9. I am in the UK trying to access the Royal Thai Embassy London online to apply for a STV. I have forgotten my password. The online link is via the receipt of a code in my email. I am advised that a code would be sent to my email address to enable a reset and gain access to my account at the embassy, Unfortunately after three attempts over five hours I have yet to receive an email from the embassy. <deleted> do I DO NOW.
  10. On arrival in Thailand a person is photographed, fingerprinted, has their passport stamped with their arrival date. Visa applicability dates. Why is there a need for the TM6? Do the Thai authorities have a fetish regarding paperwork and form filling? Surely a valid passport with a valid visa should be sufficient! O! Sorry I forgot that many an IMO would have a problem with their lifestyle cost! When, during a person's encounter with an IMO does one receive a smile? after all they are the Entry Guards to the LAND OF SMILES????????
  11. Thanks Ubonjoe, I only posted that info to keep you up to date on the status of the obviously busy Thailand Embassy in London who are unable to update their website. Misinformation or just plain idleness! It is clearly not helping TAT in their efforts to attract more tourists.
  12. There are Insurance companies in Thailand advertising their services for Covid Health Insurance. Some are persistant even when they have previously rejected my application on yhe grounds that at age 82 i am to old. Does anyone know of a firm that would provide me a policy that would meet the requirements for a Thailand Pass?
  13. Ooh! What a surprise! There is no corruption, there is no prostitution there is no profit in "transferred" ???
  14. Just copied from the Royal Thai Embassy London website.
  15. Yes, I visited the local Immigration Office four days after arriving.last December, having first visited the local Police Station to make my presence known in the Tambon. I was stating with a local family at their home, not a hotel or Guest house. I was on a Thailand Test and and Go plus one month visa exempt visit. My visa was extended for 12 days, fee B2500, and told to report again the following week. during this second visit my visa was extended a further 14 days, fee B3500 and told to return in 10 days. Finally I obtained a 60 day visa, B5200. Many months ago I bemoaned the fact that the Laws pertaining to Immigration which are published in the Royal Gazette are applicable nationally and should be implemented consistantly nationwide. The reality is that the foreigner is at the mercy of the individual dealing with their application. One soon realises why Thailand is the LOS. Just hang onto that loose change in your pocket. you may get lucky!
  16. Would someone please clarify whether the required Insurance Policy documents for a Thailand Pass are for a Travel Health Insurance or just required to cover COVID. Given that most GB and EUR citizens have by now received at least one booster jab Why the insistance?
  17. Well, the pdf mentioned contains 43 pages. Do ineed to state more?
  18. I am confused as to what type of health insurance is required to obtain a visa. The London Embassy website onlyrefers to COVID insurance and not a General Health Insurance policy. Is this correct? Their website does seemas if it requires updating!
  19. Someone in BKK has got their head up their jacksie! What have they done to ensure that motorbikes with 3,4,and 5 kids on board travel around the country. Some of the drivers are themselves just 12 year old. Drive around the rural areas , past schools and see the number of bikes parked within the school grounds or just outside. AND just a a few klicks into the nearest town and one is likely to see the LOS PLOD stopping kids for not wearing helmets. LICENSE!! INSURANCE!! What a effin joke!
  20. Perhaps they cannot cope with the flood of foreigners they are expecting to arrive when the floodgates open and are testing their logistic and bureaucracy systems first. Not many Thais wanting to return just now?
