  4. Actually, I think having the PM's and other high officials offices at Don Muang Airport is a really good idea.

When they are found guilty of something, its slip out the back door and fly into the sunset. No getting caught in traffic on the way to the airport.

Is somebody counting the number of suitcases being put on the plane.

    :o

  5. Are we talking of between CM & CR or CR & Mae Sai.

I too was stopped at that miserable police check point that is between CR and Mai Sai about 6-7 weeks ago.

Detoured around thru Thaton & Mae Teng road.

No one seems to have stated that it is closed or other than TP closed occasionally, or exactly where.

Be nice to the OP and give him a straight, honest answer to his question. Lots of us may like to know also.

    Thanks Guys

  6. Someone asked me earlier today, what I thought would happen for the busy season this year.

My answer was that it would probably be about equal to a normal low season.....

    Somewhat tongue in cheek. Maybe.....

Thinking about opening a suicide hot line business, I understand people would be dying to call

Cheer up guys, were only 2 years away from high season 2010 :o

  7. I will admit to not reading each and every post on this thread, but I have a question or two.

There were obviously thousands of people involved in these incidents. Many shots were fired [alledgedly]

Were there any reports filed on gunshot wounds?

I've read of being run over by a truck.

I've read of a person being speared with a flag pole.

I've read of legs, arms, fingers, being blown off.

But I don't recall any report of any person of either side being treated for gunshot wounds. If there were, I would be interested in knowing if any has any infor on the ballistics report like what cal. etc.

It sounds incredulous that with thousands of people in the area, any gunshot could not find a target in someone or something.

  8. Numbers for the past 2 months have been absymal. Both Customer volume [count] and revenue. This is compared to same months previous years

But if you have a job to do, then there is only one acceptable answer,.... YOU DO IT !

Anything else is just an excuse.

If the mountain won't come to Mohammed, then move one of the two

I would say to those others doing some type of business here in CM, if you keep on doing business in the same way as in previous years, in this upcoming busy season, you will be making excuses in true Thai Fashion.

    Rethink, Revamp, Adjust

  9. PB, I'm In Cuenca Ecuador now at 8310 ft. I had Altitude sickness for two days here, headaches, trouble breathing, not sleeping well. Never had the 4 years

    I stayed in Chiang Mai.

Rx: Coca leaves and an orange. :D

Coca Leaves I can understand, but how do you smoke an orange ?

    :o

  10. Not to defend Chuwit, no dobt he has problems, but

sometimes the jacka$$ media persons, try too hard to make points for themselves , just like the politicos, and go too far. T......

Isn't that the point of good journalism?

What would have happened in BBC's HARD TALK to Tim Sebastian then? :D I wonder... :o he would probably have shot him!

Nobody, especially Public Figures should "lose it" as Chai Chidchob lost it in front of 250 Students, there is simply no excuse for it - if they "lose it" - there is something to it... because they hurt or feel cornered! Just a thought...

    Actually I say no.....

Ask hard and difficult questions, Yes

Ask direct and pointed questions ,Yes

But to repeat over and over trying to cocerce an answer you would accept, in front of a live & TV audience, in order to blow your own smoke to further your own personnal agenda in not good journalism.

You ask a question, you get an answer, it doesn't have to be answered by only what you would accept.

To many reporter/personalities try to make a name for themselves at the expense of others..... This is not journalism, I say its looking for sensationalism.

Now this personality will no doubt play it to the hilt and have big hospital coverage and court suit of course with coverage.

    IMHO

  11. Not to defend Chuwit, no dobt he has problems, but

sometimes the jacka$$ media persons, try too hard to make points for themselves , just like the politicos, and go too far. They cross the line , and in all probablity if someone tried to push and push them like they do others, they would strike out also.....

Obviously common sense and courtesy are out of style, all over the world.

Maybe Chuwit will get his, but I hope he got the MC good

  12. Thanks Thaimiller,

I knew someone would give me a good answer. What are the coordinates to your freezer? I remember getting some bacon in amelika that was Danish. It came in a tall can and I used to pack it on my burro, Shadrack on my excursions into the many high mountain lakes in central Washington. Love to find more of that stuff

The burro was that good , Huh??? :o

Up in the higher elev's, you ever find need for a "three burro night"/

  13. I can remember the first Arbys restaurant anywhere, was in a place called Youngstonw, Ohio, in the USA. A couple guys called the Raffel Brothers hence R B's.

this was in the mid 60's.

In those days when you went in you saw a real hunk of Roast beef suspended and dripping from Stainless Steel Chains.

    It was deeelicious.

then in a few years the group modernized and went to the squash pressed beef hunk.... to me it was downhill from there

  14. I'll probably go out and get some company as well.

    Why worry, be happy! :o

If you go out to Gunther's and have never been there,,,,, suggest that someone in the group knows the way

Hard to explain how to get there, even if you know the way

  15. UG, where does Bake and Bite buy the best bacon?

Just to stick my nose in..... If its really salty, its probably Gunther's , marketed as G&M . You can find it in Rimping and other places.

    or

when you want to go on a real safari, you can try and work your way out this place out in Doi Saket.

Gunther is German and really a great guy. He has been here for a number of years and has a restaurant out there that despite being really on an unbeaten path , in the middle of nowhere, does a trembous business. Its good to see that hard work can pay off with success.

His bacon is great if you like the salty smoked type..... I use his bacon and Thai German for the not so salty.

  16. they do great pizzas there! ^____^

but , notice the delivery is slow..... and only at the beach.

    :o

    have you been there gonzo??

No I haven't. but I'm sure its a fine restaurant. My statement was made in a somewhat humourous vein as the photo posted was of a ship that sailed some 400 years ago...today they use motorcycles. However the delivery time is about the same, 400 years or its free.

    joke----joke :D

    hi gonzo!

i agree with your statement! =) and at no point did i feel offended ^______^

if your ever around you should try it!!

    andy!

There in lies the problem , Andy, I am already too.... a round ......

  18. Jeeezzz today was a total TOT Disgrace Day

TV which is usually my strongest connection and the one easiest to connect , could not connect until 3PM.

Since about 6:30 this morning, I have been trying and/or calling the 20 + tel numbers given for TOT and ADSL only to hear recorded messages like " this number has not yet been assigned" or the likes. they keep changing and changing the call numbers. One way to avoid getting calls.

Got all the usual BS stories re lights on modem/router, dial tone, then they say network down or server down or the trouble is in Bangkok, etc.

Well as TV is now back on, I'll try my email.

    Gonzo
