I used All Clear and even with a pre existing condition it was £144 but I did not take up the cancellation cover - maybe that's the difference?

You will almost certainly not be allowed to enter on 30 day exempt if you have a ticket that returns 3 months later - you probably won't get past check-in.

You'd need to buy a fly out from Thailand within 30 days (or  is it 29 ?) after arrival so that the immigration let you go through.

That's literally what the Thai embassy told me yesterday on the phone and telling me that their e-visa system was broken and i will probably not get my visa on time.

TBH i already knew that trick but i was just surprised to hear it from the embassy.

I've wondered about amending the bookings but isn't the QR code only for the date and flight of arrival that you entered into TP and got approved for?  Does anyone know for sure?

Yes the Thai pass QR contains the date you've entered in the online form.

If you amend your trip just submit another Thai pass request with the new documents, no problem

I'm in the same boat as you.  My flight is also on the 13th, haven't heard ???? from them outside of the confirmation email.  I've got a feeling I'll be eating a $1500.00 plane ticket.

And for me it was approved instantly however the Thai embassy still haven't delivered my visa, finally managed to call them today and they haven't been able access the E-visa system for a while, and it will maybe be fixed on the 12th but they have no idea for sure.

I already amended all my bookings from the 8th to the 15th because of that issue, now what, amend again !?

When one system is working the other one is down, can't have both !

I made an inquiry to a shipping company a few years ago. Here is the info they sent:

Yes we can ship for you no problem. You need to deregister and hand the plate to the Registration dept. They will then give you a letter to deregister as you need this when you ship the bike for Customs at destination.
We need to know type of bike & cc rating plus measurements
& or a pic of the bike.

You also need to tell us port of entry and country destination for
LCL shipping rate costs. We can arrange all the paperwork no problem as we ship many
motorcycles. Hope this helps and my Director Nisarat can assist you further. Feel free to ask me
    any questions.

    Was a Canadian company. In 2005 - 555 So been a while

Can't remember the name - but if it comes back to me will let you know

Have no idea if they still around, or if they operate in other locales.

But you may find one based in SE Asia, or one in Europe that sends stuff here. Check with some freight forwarders there. Quick email should answer a yes or no question anyway.

Thing about shipping to AUS is they are very strict about it being clean - no dirt, etc to bring pests into the country. I spent a whole day making sure !

Yay i found one company (emailed them) and it seems that they (mostly ?) ship to AU and they had questions about steam cleaning and fumigation i was like, sorry what now !?

    Anyways they haven't answered yet.

FYI - when I shipped my HD from Vancouver to Sydney I asked for quotes from shipping companies. Rates Sky High.

Found a company who does LTL - less than load - of shipping containers i.e. they book passage for the seacan and then find stuff to put into it.

Cost me $500 CDN dollars - not a mark on it.

Used them for the return trip too

    Damn 500 CDN dollars ? that's nothing !!

Can you share the company details or they only work in Canada / AU ?

I have a EU Vaccination Certificate and it only shows ...overall doses... 2/2.

I was told to load up the same certificate twice. Date of 2nd Vaccination must be later than the first one. I gave in 25.6. instead of 24.6.

The application was accepted and I received my confirmation email immediately.

Lets hope they understand the problem (only 1 certificate) when they check my application.

    Glad the trick worked !

To be fair I'm sick and tired of the whole thing at the moment - as my wife (Thai) says - only Thailand!

They do this with everything they lay their hands on, sometimes you could scream - ITS NOT BLOODY DIFFICULT!!!

How do they make it so?

I don't travel until 29 December, I think I'm going to take a few days off from all this before my brain is totally fried.

Yeah they really <deleted>*cked up my mind when i started to understand the whole SHA+ certified hotels vs SHA+ bookings vs SHA+ hotels giving AQ bookings vs normal AQ bookings.

WHY would you do that ? it's like if you wanted to <deleted> someone's head that'd be perfect.

The information below would fit with several threads running at the moment - I'll lave it to the mods as to where it should go.

I've seen several posts regarding entry to Thailand and Thailand Pass that mention an ATK test on day 6 or 7.  I've even seen a booking confirmation for a 1 night stay under 'Test & Go' that says the Antigen Test Kit will be supplied.

To the best of my knowledge you do not need an ATK if you are entering under Test & Go - once your negative RT-PCT result arrives, you are free to go with no further restrictions. ATK is for Sandbox entries.

If you read this, its quite clear

    3. I will be responsible for all relevant costs associated with COVID-19 diagnostic tests by RT-PCR technique at locations designated by the Thai Government. I shall undertake the first test upon my arrival in Thailand and should I stay in the Sandbox Programme for 7 days, I shall undertake a second test during the 6th-7th day or as required or deemed necessary by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.

    4. For the Exemption from Quarantine scheme:

4.1 I shall be quarantine for one day.

4.2 After a negative (not detected) RT-PCR test result, I am permitted to travel without restrictions in Thailand.

    https://tp.consular.go.th/en/policy

But this (which I believe to be incorrect) from:

    https://thaiembdc.org/2021/10/21/enterthailandafter1nov/

contradicts the above (bottom section under exemption from quarantine).

    %E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B2%E0%

    Yup,

And that's why so many people are confused.

Because of the way the hotel call their bookings, everything get mixed up.

a SHA+ certified hotel will issue a AQ booking for the "test and go" scheme.

But a SHA+ booking (in a SHA+ hotel) is only necessary for the "sandbox" scheme.

And at the same time some website like Asq.in.th sell some "Test and go" 1 night package clearly marked as SHA+ while they're ... AQ bookings.

Do you know what i'm saying !?

    God help me.

PS : it's all clear to me right now, but i don't think it's clear for ... lots of folks here.

This has probably been mentioned before but I suspect most of us are applying for the Thai Pass as we have a vested interested in Thailand

    HOWEVER

How frickin' insane do you have to be to go through all this hassle as a first-time tourist ? If I meet you in Thailand then I'm giving you a very wide berth!!!!!! ????

    Guinea pigs you said !?

Well I'll give it a go regarding the insurance but I still find it difficult to believe that they've employed such technology yet limited it to png/jpeg formats.

My vaccine certificates, hotel booking and insurance policy (55 pages approx) are all in PDF format so I have to scan them all in and save as jpegs.  The insurance pages will, I believe, have to be merged (free online program) in order to be able to send enough. So, loads of mucking about and this is just the paperwork - all the above items had to be obtained - and they want tourists?  Not a hope - just us mugs that have no choice.

Oh yeah totally agree on that part.

The system is <deleted> and unpleasant (at best) to use, especially because of that JPEG format.

But trust me it's automatic when it works.

Sorry I don't buy it.  All insurance policies are written differently - mine has very little detail in the schedule.  To get all the information they need I would have to send at least 5 pages.  I've attached the schedule.  Knowing Thailand as I do, I very much doubt they are using the technology you refer to - they just don't do that. Nor do I think it could cope with such requirements/varied potential responses.  I'd be very happy to be wrong.

    Sched 1.jpg

    Sched 2.jpg

    Then it probably doesn't even read these  / some of these ? documents ;

It just link your document JPEG with the insurance policy ID you've entered in the form and embed it into a QR code.

Then when the immigration officer check your QR code he'll ask you for all those documents and review them.

Do not think of that Thailand Pass - QR code as something really high tech that check if you hotel booking ID / insurance policy actually exist.

The QR code is just a link to a page / database, when you put all those informations it just put all your documents in one of their database and generates a link = a QR code.

While some of these informations might be read by a software (Vaccine (if standard) and passport) it maybe doesn't read everything.

For those with multiple QR codes, is a QR tied to a specific flight, or can I use a duplicate QR code to come back to Thailand in December?

    LOL that's a good one.

    Edit : Don't ;

The QR code is just something that opens a page with all the details you entered in the form :

Flight details / vaccine / hotel booking and so on.

So basically what i'm trying to say is NOPE

That is correct : fully vaccinated allowed in. but as I mentioned in an earlier post , I got this in the QR code email

    1. 1.3 Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected through RT-PCR test (issued within 72 hours before departure). If the Port Health and Quarantine at airports in Thailand discover that you have invalidated COVID-19 RT-PCR test result or if the type of the test is not RT-PCR method, you will not be eligible to be exempted from quarantine, but you may be allowed to enter Thailand by quarantine only.

That only says that if you test positive upon arrival (at your hotel) or that IF before departure you used a non PCR test (antigen test), you may still be allowed to enter Thailand but THEN you will have to do a 10 days quarantine.

If that is true all I have to do is type out a form that says Mr. XXXX XXXXX has health insurance for $50,000 US which covers Covid 19. Another fake booking letter from my AQ hotel and I'm good to go..............................right?  Naaaa.

I feel like i'm on reddit, when people don't understand how things work they call it fake.

It doesn't have to read everything, it just have to find a field like "insurance policy ID XXXX" and check a field like "Maximum benefits".

When i say it's automatic, just to be clear :

There's no background check whatsoever, it's not going to check if you have a valid hotel booking ID, or a valid insurance policy.

I did not take this route. I went for the third category. When I chose Test and Go whatever Sha or AQ I never got a QR code. Only when I took the Alternative Quarantine did I get it

I'd be cautious with that one.

It's like if you were unvaccinated and still had to go through a 10 days quarantine.

Wait, let me check again : are you fully vaccinated and from an "quarantine free" eligible county ?

Thanks to the posts on the various thread I applied via the AQ and got the QR Code labelled "Alternative Quarantine" but one thing I find odd is the accompanying message Aren't the applicants supposed to quarantine for 10 days already?

    Travelling to Thailand

    1. 1. Please prepare your documents to present at the check-in counter and to the agencies concerned when arriving in Thailand. The documents are as follows
      1. 1.1 Passport with visa (if required)
      2. 1.2 Thailand Pass QR Code (on mobile device or printed copy)
      3. 1.3 Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected through RT-PCR test (issued within 72 hours before departure). If the Port Health and Quarantine at airports in Thailand discover that you have invalidated COVID-19 RT-PCR test result or if the type of the test is not RT-PCR method, you will not be eligible to be exempted from quarantine, but you may be allowed to enter Thailand by quarantine only.
    2. 2. When arriving in Thailand, please present your documents and Thailand Pass QR Code to the immigration and disease control officers.

Remarks: if your airline requires additional documents, kindly prepare the additional required documents, or you may be denied boarding.

Aren't the applicants supposed to quarantine for 10 days already?

Also (worrying) is the "if airline.......denied boarding" What other documents can they require apart from the above and the ticket ?

You got the QR code with Alternative quarantine written on it at the bottom ? how so ?

    Do not confuse
Exemption from Quarantine (Test and Go) / Alternative Quarantine choice on the first page.
And your hotel booking type (asked at the "end" of the form.

Given you're fully vaccinated and from a country that's eligible you should choose Exemption from quarantine (test and go) ON THE FIST PAGE.

Then later on when they ask you about your hotel booking you should choose AQ (alternative quarantine) instead of SHA+

  18. Yep,

So after years in Thailand and a year stuck abroad because of the Covid and other reasons i got a job offer a man can't refuse.

Gonna have to sell all my stuff and go back to the motherland.

Does anyone here have some experience / recommendations about shipping a bike from Thailand to the EU ?

(I'm not looking for legal advises on the EU side, i just want to know what companies can pickup the bike, pack it (crate), ship it and so on).

So if you know what company can do that (from BKK), can you share your experience with the process ? (and costs).

    Thanks

  19. 1 hour ago, Sandro777 said:

Again - why are you saying that SHA+ is improper? Here is the THAI EMBASSY WEBSITE:

"Fully Vaccinated from the Listed Countries
Fully vaccinated travelers, both Thai and foreigners will be allowed to enter Thailand without mandatory quarantine or sandbox stay. They only need to stay for 1 night in an ASQ or SHA+ Hotel while they wait for the COVID 19 RT-PCR test result that was taken upon arrival. "

Furthermore, many applicants have been under review for more than six working days, so please do not say it takes 3-5 to applicants.

    Edit / Update.

ASQ = AQ hotel and a Hotel can have the SHA+ certification, however if you book for 1 night with PCR test this will be a AQ booking, not a SHA+ booking.

If will be a AQ booking in a SHA+ certified hotel.

Just like for my booking :
