  1. Police confident to arrest suspects in Koh Tao murder in 2 days

    9-27-2014-1-06-33-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

He disclosed that police had narrowed down the number of suspects to about ten who are to be requestioned. These ten suspects who include Thais, foreigners and Myanmar migrant workers were at the AC Bar on Koh Tao on the night of September 15 between midnight to 4.40 am of the following day.

Pol Lt-Gen Panya said that although these group of suspects were not held in custody after they were once questioned they are being closely watched by plainclothes policemen to prevent them from escaping.

He explained that these suspects were to be questioned again because police had obtained some evidences which he declined to disclose but which are linked to the forensic evidences.

    This is a real report?

Got to be a wind up surely?

No one, and i include Indians and the darkest reaches of Africa could be this dense?

  2. The likes of Gulfsailor who like others say they know who's behind these attacks or at least they know people who know but they're more interested in self preservation than seeing justice and perhaps knowing that justice will never be served need to hang their heads in shame and do the right thing but they won't because they're cowards who are willing to stay in their own little paradise bubble.

    ONIONZ.

Can you blame them when they're have seen the way these families rule

They would be taken out to sea and shot and be fish bait. The bodies washing up on shore that we are hearing about now I can assure you is nothing compared to who and what has actually been lost at sea.

I know people on two of those three islands, and bodies are often "found" on shore or out at sea Many more than we hear about. Just as now the bodies that have been found the last few days, that we are hearing nothing about anymore. Sweep it under a rug somewhere.

That is the top of the iceberg in regards to who goes missing. Friends family and neighbours are advised that someone simply left town overnight or decided to relocate overnight.

Superficially it's a happy existence if you know your place.

You owe your home livelihood and family existence to these very people. And who will help you in this - the coppers ??? Now there s someone to turn to - your local copper.

I would not dispute anything you have written.

However, having seen the uncensored photos i can say hand on heart i would be back home now singing lime a canary, how anyone whether they live there and have livelihoods or not can just shrug it off and do nothing is beyond me.

Its telling not one of the westerners on the island apart from Mcanna has so much as been quoted in a newspaper.

  3. Maybe, just maybe the noose is tightening on the "familly".

The sons statement, the fathers press conference, maybe they doth protest too much?

Lott of dissinformation being leaked deliberately, someone above aludes to needing a witness to force a DNA test?

Maybe they know they are heading for a fall, or have been tipped off higher levels of authority are after them, and this is frantic riggling to escape.

We can only hope, maybe im giving the Thai coppers a bit too much credit here.

    Heres hoping.

  5. Look at the vid mataleo posted and then look at this heading pic http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/764534-koh-tao-police-look-for-man-in-vdo-footage-as-a-key-to-provide-clue-of-murder/

from 11 seconds on. In the vid his arm swings like a fast walk yet in the still pic his arm and leg give the appearance of running. I've frozen and played slowly and I can't put his arm and leg in the same position.

The police were using something like overlaying technology a week ago to place a man in custody !!!!!!!! I just can't work out why they would be different.

Perhaps he ran past and walked past and they are from different footage but the still looks blurred and the vid is much clearer.

From the blurred numbers on the bottom of the screen on the still it looks like a different time so maybe he walked past and ran past at different times.

There is a video somewhere of someone running, i remember seeing it early on in the case.

  6. David and Hannah left separately with their respective friends. David went back to the room with his friend and at some point said he was going to look for Hannah. They were not doing it on the beach. He found them and tried to save her. He is a heroand lost his life trying to save this girl. You should stop making it sound like they were somehow responsible for this.

I wouldn't be so sure about it. Jonathan Head of BBC published a different story. Allegedly they walked together towards the beach.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29225672

Thai police believe they have CCTV showing David Miller and Hannah Witheridge before their deaths

By Jonathan Head, BBC south-east Asia correspondent

The shocking death of the two young tourists has cast a pall over this scenic island resort.

Locals say they can remember nothing like it happening before.

The police say they are focusing their investigation on Burmese migrant workers on the island.

One senior officer told the BBC he did not believe a Thai person could have committed such a crime.

Police say they have examined CCTV footage showing the two victims leaving a bar late on Sunday night, walking towards the beach - but they were killed in a hidden spot behind some rocks, and no eyewitnesses have yet been found.

That has since been proven to show the couple was NOT them.

The report you quote was over a week ago.

  7. I'll have to be careful what I write. Most people on Koh Tao know who are responsible. They also know who took the main perpetrator of the island by private speedboat around sunrise. Media and UK reps were not allowed to witness DNA taking of certain suspects. But everyone on the island is too scared to talk. And who are you gonna talk to when the guy leading the investigation is a friend and partner of a certain local family in a mainland business venture? I think there will be quite some foreigners who are planning their departure from the island. And hopefully when one of these people is back safe in their home country the full story will come out.

So do you live on Koh tao, who was it then?

Whoever it was it will be too late.

Soon the patsy will be paraded on the beach, doing the reconstruction like he has been shown too.

And all the while people who are in the know sit with their thumb up their <deleted>.

Its just that if people know who they were how can they justify keeping their mouths shut when if they spoke out and were murdered by the Koh Tao mafia then surely that would really do damage to Koh Tao business. Im meaning surely in the long run it is worst to keep it a secret than to know these killers could come back to the island.

They could leave, and sing like a canary when they touched down.

Too busy worrying about their poxy lives on the island, i suppose for some the thought of going back to the UK or the States is keeping them from acting.

I mean how many of the islanders, apart from Mcanna have even spoken to a newspaper or taken to facebook?

Nothing, just a wall of silence, and apologists on here trying to rationalise it.

Sorry, and maybe your one of these people but its just not good enough,

If the above is the case then these "people" should have been back home in their respective countrys now and appearing on CNN.

Its a case of turning a blind eye to look after themselves im afraid, its not as if most would be walking away from millions of investment is it?

  10. If its a foreigner gets fingered then im sure the story will be that it was consensual with the 2 asian men.

Win Win for them, The Thais come out smelling of roses, maybe even get the the perp to claim he had consensul sex and anything after that was nothing to do with him/them.

Wouldnt surprise me at all if the bar owners/bar owners familly suddenly start to remember.

Consensual sex with 2 locals, DNA suddenly matches, later on murdered by a Farang.

    Case closed.

Maybe got one of the script writers in from the awful soaps.

  11. There was definitive advice early on that there was CCTV footage of a female running, that police had under wraps. Do you know if this has seen the light of day yet ? Or if it even exists? It was purported it was possibly hannah running ..

It probably does exist, the police seem to be keeping any CCTV footage under wraps that hasn't got out yet.

Not seen this reported anywhere, there is so much disinformation its getting difficult to follow.

  12. Seems like life has moved on looking on those Ko tao community fb pages. I think sadly some posters are right that soon the media will lose interest and this case will forever remain unsolved.

Koh Tao murder cases doesn't really seem to be known as being solved previously either, but even though that i am also losing more and more faith in this ever getting solved, i do try to remain hopeful, so the close ones can see some justice.

Lads I can back up each of elsonquick points -it's the final conclusion to this I hope is in line with his and not mine. and the one I choose to accept this time is his.. Just perhaps this is THE one that breaks the pattern in Thailand. Or at least the three islands. This has received so much international and social media coverage that perhaps we can assist in keeping this alive long enough to assist with a new outcome.

I believe social media was criticised because we won't let this simply die. We are annoying and we are getting in the way. That's marvellous is it not?

How can you back them up exactly, please elaborate?

  13. Has the southern police chief and the Ko Tao village headsman come up with a solution to this investigation so that everyone wins? The police, the Mon family and the general public. A scapegoat is in the waiting and is about to be revealed very soon. This is why there is no new news on the case today. A plan is being formed.

The news are awfully quiet today. And a quiet day today explains the outburst the police had about the social media, so a reason to keep things quiet.

Anyhow, i honestly hope that things are quiet today, because some are very busy investigating their own ranks.

Hot off the press, several amphibious assult boats have just swept onto the four corners of the island carrying Thai special forces, (if such a thing exists?).

They have arrested all the local police and rounded up all suspected mafia members, seized large amounts of firearms and confiscated massive amounts of narcotics,

If only Carlsberg did crime scene investigations.
