Not true.. Chinese people said in a survey some time back, that they only wanted to come to Thailand if it was 6 months covid free... besides that Chinese people have to get in quarantine if they come back for a few weeks... So fake news again. The Chinese don't come in October.. maybe they want to come yes, but not in a short term

That's after they started all this <deleted> in the first place!????????????????

Fat chance of the British Embassy in Bangkok being prepared to provide the necessary certification. Instead British applicants would probably be required to follow the cumbersome legalisation process described in all its "glory" in the following link:-

We British expat retirees can, I think, be forgiven for arriving at the conclusion that the British and Thai governments are actively engaged in some joint initiative aimed at making our lives here in Thailand as difficult as is humanly possible. On top of what the Immigration Bureau have inflicted on us over recent years (as well documented on this and other threads), the British government have inflicted on us over the same period cumbersome bureaucracy in the areas of passport renewal (how many retirees aged 70+ are physically up to making 2 potentially lengthy and difficult trips in person to offices located in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, and why should they have to shell out an extra 5,000 THB+ for an agent to make these trips on their behalf?) and State Pension Life Certificate witnessing - on top of the legalisation process to which I have already referred.

There hasn't been a British Consulate in Chiang Mai since 2016!????

So where the hell do those who are 73 with heart problems go to get the vaccine.  How the hell do I know where to go.  this damn government does not give us any information at all.  I am in Ratchaburi so what hospital or place do we go to.  We have no damn information what to do.  They do nothing. at all.  I hate these leaders they do nothing for the people

If you have a heart problem you will more than likely have a hospital you go to who will have your medical records! That's the place you go! Not rocket science ????

No, I think you are wrong, it's more like 500,000 shots a day for 1st shots, but dependent on how long they leave the second dose it could have to be up to a million shots a day. Either that or they'll be saying no first doses after September as they have to give the 2nd dose before 12 weeks runs out.

Thailand based on this roll out will need 30,000,000 doses of vaccine a day in the near future - I seriously cannot see that being available

I have this nasty feeling that at some point Thailand will run out of 2nd doses and nullify the 1st dose or something daft.

Not sure where you are coming from with the 30,000,000 doses a day!????

Exactly. Which is a problem in a country like Thailand with it's large undereducated underclasses. This is not an insult but a statement of fact. The working classes, which make up the majority of the population of the province of Buri Ram, simply don't have the capacity to make an informed decision on vaccination. Sure, some individuals do have this capability, but most don't. That said, those individuals who have heard of severe side effects after vaccination are in my opinion informed enough to decide for themselves whether they want to take the risk. They should also have this right granted by law.

Problem is, in a country like Thailand where governors and the national government in general rule with fear and intimidation, rather than reward, fearful local villagers may cave to these demands and suffer serious consequences and the government can get away with it.

Unfortunately, most Thais, especially the working classes, have zero awareness of their rights and even fewer are likely to sue (or even be aware of that possibility).

At the end of the day everyone educated or uneducated has a right to decide whether or not they want the so called vaccine!
