  1. Hello, I do the monthly transfer of 65,000 baht for a Retirement extension.  I transfer from my bank via Wise to my Kasikorn Bank acct.  I also have a pension document that I have printed out.  I copy the Wise PDF and highlight my bank account info and the Kasikorn acct information listed on the Wise transfer.  It shows the amount transferred and what amount the conversion was on that date.

I also copy my monthly bank statements from the US and highlight the Wise Transfer showing the amount transferred, the date and that the money was transferred to Wise.

Now, I have 3 documents showing that I have at least 65,000 coming to me in a pension.  I have a Wise PDF Transfer showing my bank name and the bank the money was transferred to in Thailand (Kasikorn) and I have my personal US account showing the Wise transfer on my monthly statement.

No need for photos as it is not a marriage extension.  No need for 400K or 800K in the Thai Bank.  Pretty simple so far.  I print these things out as I transfer the money and at the end of the month I print out my personal bank account document.  I get a Bank Statement from Kasikorn for the year.  I line up the monthly documents by month and put them in a folder and hand it all over to the IO.

    I hope this helps you.

Immigration will not accept proof of transfers into a Thai bank to apply for a non-o visa. They only accept proof of income from a embassy that you cannot get if you are from the US.

Since you are married to a Thai you your best option would be to apply for non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai.

Then you could apply for a one year extension based upon marriage by showing 40k baht of income or 65k baht for a extension based upon retirement. For marriage you only need 400k baht in Thai bank for 2 months.

If you have a Thai bank account I suggest you start transferring the 40k or 65k before traveling to here.

Ubonjoe, I lived in LOS for 3 yrs on a Non-O, based on retirement then left to work in the U.S. (4 years later) now retiring for good.  I do not have a bank account right now.  I will open one when I return.  Our marriage was done in the U.S. and not certified in the Amphoe.  Can I get the extension based on Retirement if I only have 2 months of income in the bank at the time I apply?   I am really hesitant to tie money up in the Thai bank.  Do I need to get something from my pension agency to prove I have one or just show bank statements showing it going into my U.S. bank and then transferred to the Thai Bank?  Sorry for all the questions.  I have read dozens of these questions/answers before but sometimes it just does not sound simple.  Thanks.

  3. I wonder if someone can answer me something.  I want to obtain a Non-O Retirement but not use the 800K version.  I want to use my pension as proof.  Why don't I see too many requests about this type of Extension?  What proof is needed?  I can show the money going into my bank in the U.S. and then I transfer that amount to my Thai bank account.  What other proof is needed?  I don't want to stick 800K in the Thai bank as I invest my money.  Anyone help me on this?  Maybe I don't understand the PENSION version of proving my income.

    Thanks

  4. Again....for those non-conspiratorial people...they convicted the right people, this one they got right. The appeal process is what every murdering scum has the right to file. Even if they had a video of those ba$turds swinging the hoe that disabled David. While I personally think this a waste of time and resources I guess they can have their day.

The scum who did this were rightfully convicted and after this appeal maybe the death sentence will be reduced to 100 years. I am ok with that also and actually like that better. This way they can rot in jail and maybe get their som nam na!

  5. Good job RTP. Just because their DNA was not on the "hoe" does not mean they did not use it. Mistakes are made by the police in every single investigation. Some minor and some big but mistakes do not in themselves make the subjects "not guilty". The judges heard all the evidence, the objections, the Defense objections and after all that they decided "Guilty". I agree with the conviction and believe based on what I have heard it is a just decision. The weight of the world was on these judges and they ruled appropriately. Good for them, good for the investigators and sorry for the two defendants. I hope now they get the ultimate sentence. "Death". In my opinion.

  6. Hello......do you think the fact that every currency has weakened, except the dollar and the baht to any significant level has anything to do with it? When the pound exchange rate was in the hugh 60s and the dollar near 40 it was easy to get people to travel. Thailand should be weakening the baht.

  7. Why don't you pay for a small apartment for the daughter if you want to help and buy a small house for you and the wifey in CM. Then when you die you can leave it to the wife and when she dies can leave to the daughter. That is usually the way it works in the West also.

I am sorry but this does not sound like a smart idea as you have described.

  8. So what????? What are all you brain surgeons doing? I will bet many of you are sitting on your fat <deleted>...drinking beer....watching some football...sleeping....getting ready to deink beer or sitting your fat arse in a bar somewhere. Let them play FB if they want. Do you think they would like a little more out of you!! Really...calm down.

  10. Great job AleG....a great summary of the information in this matter instead of the idiot spouting "hearsay" as you rightly stated.

The problem with the conspiracy theorists is thst they will never believe these two did the deed...no matter what the judges decide.

Give a 14 year old a hoe and a surprise attack on the back of your head and tell me the kid could not have killed someone...really stupid people out there. No one knows how it really went down in those moments of life and death except the victims and the two on trial.

That's my opinion. Let the court decide.

  11. What are you talking about? If you are a Thai man with money and you marry a girl here, you pay sinsod! It can be any amount that the man can afford to pay. If they don't have money then they don't pay. Just like in any Country! If you have some money you pay for a lavish wedding and if you don't you have the wedding at the local Fire Department Hall. They serve chicken wings and salad in giant troughs.

I personally know of several Thai men who paid 400K sinsod and built a house for the women. It is a custom here and only if you don't have money is it not done. Farangs like to say it does not happen with Thai men but they are wrong!!

Most farang men have some money and can pay something. I gave 100K Thai Bt to the mom and dad and paid for the wedding which cost about 200K. So all in all less than 10,000 dollars. If I married her in the U.S. I would have paid about 20K for the wedding alone. The trolls who don't want to pay some respect to the family are doomed to be slugs in the marriage and most likely will end in divorce. Cheap ba$tards I call them.

Find a wife in your own country and tell me what it would cost you to get married. If you had some money and wanted to have the reception in a Fire Hall I doubt very much if the bride would be very happy. Come on think about and what this costs you...its peanuts unless you are destitute people and why are you getting married if you don't have anything?????

  12. There must be some new laws coming into action. I have Vanguard IRA and Brokerage accounts. Prior to establishing the Brokerage account just last year if I asked for a wire transfer to Thailand from my IRA account it was ok. However, this year, after establishing my Brokerage account I asked for a transfer of funds to a Bank in Thailand. They told me that they could not do it anymore since I established the Brokerage account. I asked why and they just told that it is the rules now. If you have a brokerage account that they cannot send money out of the country to me.

I said to them well cancel the brokerage account and they said no it is too late you already combined the accounts. It sounded ridiculous to me. I had to ultimately transfer money from the IRA to another Bank in the U.S.A. and then have them transfer the lump sum to me in Thailand. I think there is something going on with the U.S. "G" forcing banks to do this. Maybe there are other reporting requirements for Banks who do this from Brokerage accounts. Just a thought.

  13. This is the most stupid comment I have ever heard. A generalization that has no basis in fact. My wife's son is 6 (and Thai) is the smartest kid in his class. I am sure that if your kid and he were the same age this Thai kid would put your kid to shame. This boy can draw, remember entire songs after hearing it once or twice and sing it from beginning to end, he is the leader in any group of kids and seems to just take over in play groups and all the other kids follow him. He is a natural leader. He can take clay and make models of anything he wants to make. He has the mentality, language skills, personality, knowledge of kids probably twice his age. He can name every Indian Buddha image and he can recite stories in great detail. This kid is a natural leader, has feelings and insight that is well beyond his numerical age.

I think you making this blanket statement is so close to racist that it is stupid!!
