When you deposit money with a Stock Broker/Securities until you buy shares, and you are under no obligation to buy shares. They will pay at quite a high interest rate, your money is absolutely safe, but they don’t like you making to many withdrawals. I did this for a while, while I studied the Thai stock market.

I have heard some banks do not pay intrest to foreigners. rumour or fact I don’t know. So it would be best to check beforehand. But if anyone can confirm or deny please post.

blizzard From the level of the spelling on your post, I would say somebody also did not pay for your schooling. But I think I detect a note of jealousy.

Why I don't believe the story is because it is a round figure, My 22 year old Thai girlfriend (I am 66) came up to me a few days a go and wanted money to pay for her studies coarse at Ramkhamhaeng Uni, she asked for 1,720 Baht (far more plausible). Because she was so precise I laughed and jokingly said 1,720 Baht and 25 stang.

I am with UOB on Wireless Rd I don't know how many foreigners they have, but I am treated special, although my investment is not large, I also got internet banking, without meeting the stated criteria. Charges are only a fraction of what they were in Australia. I am therefore able to trade at a much smaller increase in the value of the stock. Although the system works differently here.

Briefly I have had a Kasikorn ATM card for 6 years (it was Thai Farmers Bank when I opened the account) I have made several trips to Western Australia where I have used my Kasikorn ATM card at Australian bank ATM's in Perth. My ATM card is just the standard no special account.

this sounds like the minor Soi that runs from Soi 3 into Sukhumvit Soi 5, that would make the Pharmacies (chemist I'm English) on Sukhumvit Soi 5.

I am going to Sukhumvit Soi 3 tonight (Sat) so will give you names of Chemist tomorrow.

But back to the subject over a 5 year period at Chemist in Thailand generally speaking other than at a hospital a prescription is not needed. (in my experience)

With regard to the tranquillisers in tourist areas a copy of passport has been required (outside of tourist areas not required)

I have used my Kasikorn ATM debit card to do ATM withdrawals in Australia. It has a Visa sign on the card, but it is the standard Kasikorn ATM card. I also use it in George Town. Penang. Malaysia.

Try and get your pension paid into a UK bank, Nationwide is good (no charge) If you tell the BPS you have left the country they will not pass on any increase in pension. Stay stumm and enjoy any increases in the future.

You are absolutely correct “Lite Beer” I also get the Australian Pension and the Centrelink (the pension service) computer is linked to the immigration department computer, they know the day you enter and leave the country. So to deceive a government department like “slam-i-am” suggest is stupid.

I as some other post have stated stand by the KBank or Kasikorn Bank it used to be called the Thai Farmers Bank. All they needed from me was they photo copied my passport and they asked verbally for an address, the previous night I had stayed at the Rajah Hotel Soi 2 Sukhumvit so I said Rajah Hotel Soi 2. that was it, any branch will replace a lost ATM for just 100 Baht their and then, if you have your Passport. Outside of Pattaya the service I receive is A1.

I have recently become eligible for the British Pension. I have made the application and it is approved. The problem is the British Pension Service do not pay via SWIFT directly into a Thai bank account.

Will other British pensioners in Thailand let me know how they receive their funds from the British Pension Service into Thailand. , without giving personal details. Thanks

I have recently had an Australian Passport renewed and today went to Immigration at Central Lat Phrao (Bangkok northern suburbs) for the transfer to be done “fill in form” “we do not require passport photos or a letter come back at 2 o’clock”
