Cheers mate, we have both decided to quit beer, I'm thinking fresh orange with maybe lemonade and ice, in the bar we go to I noticed cartons of 100% fresh juices so all good.Re 'long' drink options to beer i have always considered ice tea. For me though i am not a fan of sweet and it always seems to be the sweet version is the only one the bars have. Nice non sweet ice teas can be found in supermarket for home consumption.

Don't know what the bill is but I'm sure it's going to be 150k up.Sounds like a very very mild case of Dengue.
200K !!!! As in 2000,000 Baht ?
I had quite a bad dose of Dengue lost 10kg in 10 days didn't want a beer for three weeks.
Didn't go to hospital.
Why go to hospital unless your bleeding from any part of your body all they can do is as you've found out give you a crazy bill.
Hope your friend recovers soon and I hope his insurance is in order.

Anti biotics are for his diarrhoea.Dengue fever is not a bacterial infection it is viral infection so anit-bs will do nothing except push the hospital bill up and make your body more resistant to anti-bs when you DO need them. Best treatment is stay at home, loads of fluids, Tylenol or codein to relieve any headaches....NOT NSAIDs like para or ibuprofen. Maybe next month or year, a nice dose of cannabis will be able to help. If you fancy a beer or two....have them.

I think it's been mild, he has maybe lost a kg or two but no more, he doesn't want to eat because of diarrhoea(not bad) he does fancy beer but will not as doc advised against it, he has been on saline drips and lots of anti biotics plus tablets, and many blood tests, want to see final bill!Just as I experienced. Thankfully it doesn't sound as if the mans had a serious bout. If he fancies a beer he cant be too bad. I wish him well.Sent from my SM-G610F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

No non-alcoholic beer in Thailand.
Soda water as suggested, or soft drinks or fruit juices.
Dengue recovery is slow and leaves you pretty washed out. He may not find he's really up to going to bars for a while.
Warn him to expect depression during convalesence and it can be severe. They often forget to tell people this. It helps to know it is normal part of the disease.

He's been in hospital since Tue, not lost any weight and fancies a beer, blood test was Dengue positive obviously not serious, got insurance but I'm guessing bill so far must 200k or more.

Mate is in hospital with Dengue, Doc says not drink alcohol when discharged, can you get non alcoholic beer etc on Phuket, any suggestions on nice long non alcoholic drinks, do bars have non alcoholic or is it a waste of time thinking they have.

Okay, easy to do.As far as I know Phuket immigration will want a new power of attorney everytime.

Quick question regarding the power of attorney form, would I need to complete this form everytime I need to re register my address or is it a one time only?

Sorted out my address registration this morning, would appear now that the power of attorney form is needed, very easy this morning.

This is getting to be a pain here, my mate has never reported his address and has never been in trouble, what colour pen do you use in forms black or blue?Badrabbit: also make sure the landlord signs with blue ink, they don't accept black even if the landlord is there in person. Been there, done that.
Also would be really good if you tried to talk to them about what Maestro said if you are renting a house on your name and hence are the house-master as far as the law is concerned and should be able to report yourself. Chances are they might not know about this case and maybe don't even want to know about it but it's worth a try. It would make things much easier for a lot of people if they accepted this in accordance with the law. I tried before in Phuket but didn't get far. If more people try to speak to them about it, maybe eventually they'll adjust?

I'll go back tomorrow with everything yet again, rental agreement, owner ID, owner house paper, now power of attorney form plus my copies, last time 6 months ago I reported my address after returning to Thailand with just the form, arrival card, extension copy and had no problem.Have you read this thread? OP was given wrong information from a volunteer before he got the chance to talk with in IO or hand in his correct documents

Well I assumed he knew what he was talking about, plus I was pretty stressed by a Chinese lunatic in front that I thought it was best to go!!Then you should have insisted on talking with an IO, because obviously the volunteer gave you wrong information

I didn't see the IO the volunteer told me to come back with the correct documents, never had a problem before now all of a sudden I need power of attorney form!!Because the immigration official with whom you are dealing is abusing his authority.

Told I don't need rental contract etc as they already have it all.No
They only need to sign copies of their own documents. You only need to sign yours.

Do you mean landlord has to sign every copy that is needed from my passport? And original Sign from the land lord not copy on every paper.
