  1. Unless a fully itemised bill can be scanned and posted it is not possible to determine or comment on whether the bill was "expensive" or not.

You obviously have no experience of hospitals here.

Itemised bill or not, that is way over the real price.

What should the "real price" be and what costs are you basing the "real price" on ?

I am not on here to argue with someone who posts on every topic, not through experience, but posting for postings sake.

He was in for medication only, no operation etc., it should not have been that much.

Should not have been that much but it was!

I'll get to see the bill on Friday and decide myself if it is way over the top.

  2. My point is, he could not have been that poorly to be let home after 1 night ?

    Infections do not clear overnight.

As stated he has been in 2 days 1 night, the medicine he was given at private hospital had immediate effect, sorry this is all 2nd hand.

I have no experience of hospitals here in this way, so far I have been problem free!

The bill has been paid and he is on the mend.

  4. Surely the infection could not have been that bad if he only needed 1 night hospitalization ?

He got the infection following the operation, he went back to mission 3 times they still could not fix the problem, it came to a point where he was very poorly hence going to private hospital!

He has a bill but I have not seen it, I think 4100bht to see a doctor can definitely be classed as expensive!

  6. It has been explained here, so many times, how extortionate the private hospitals are here.

I do not see how he was forced to go to an international hospital ?

I had 7 days and nights in a government hospital last year, everything, including acceptable meals was 4,800 baht.

That also included take home medication.

He was forced because mission caused infection from the tubes(had op on back) and gave him the wrong treatment for the infection, international stated " you are very lucky as this could have been very serious" that's the story!

I've told him " don't get ill again"

  7. Friend has been in Phuket International hospital for 2 days and 1 night, just had a bill for 31k, 4100 bht to see the doctor for less than a couple of minutes, nothing major just some tests, antibiotic and drip, can not believe this country sometimes, he is in shock over the bill! I have insurance here but dreading the day I might be at the mercy of the greed here!

Friend has Social, very bad experience at mission forced him to go to international hospital!

  8. The bill was 1600 bht there bill was 1900 bht my gf paid then showed me the bill, it was obviously wrong so I sent her back to question the amount, don't know what was said but it was obvious the guy was not happy, the prices are clearly shown on the menu! I doubt it was an honest mistake we will not be going back, the food was poor!

Maybe he didn't know how to use a calculator!

If this particular BBQ place is listed on TripAdvisor, I would be sure to post a review, including the bit about being overcharged. The only way these people learn is to hit them in the wallet.

Yes, post a review. Let others know. This sort of 'bad adding' happens everywhere in the world. No-one wants to create a fuss on a night out and the restaurant staff know it. Might not even be the owner ... I remember a very long time ago in my home country I took a large group of family members out for dinner in a fancy place, the bill arrived and I started counting it up .... I was paying. I had been overcharged quite a big amount and I sent the bill back for checking. Everyone at the table was horrified that I challenged the bill ... and that's how these places get away with it ....

I doubt this place is listed with trip advisor, it's a place that sprung up all of a sudden, it has mostly Chinese customers in fact on the night We was there everyone seemed to be Chinese, I will ask a friend to check this out and if it is listed get him to post a review on my behalf.

    Classy joint then coffee1.gif

You have something against Chinese people or do you think Chinese people lower the tone?

  11. Went to a local seafood BBQ, meal was average to say the least, Bill arrived, I already knew what it should have been, 300 bht added but strangely included in the total, sent the gf to query, she came back holding 300 bht, dirty look from I assume the owner, obviously Falang tax added!! this is something I hate about Thailand, along with duel pricing of course!

  12. the reality is that the PCX and the N Max are cheap, efficient little scooters - which ever you buy, i'm sure you'll be pleased....

But making up tales that as a new N Max owner, you've seen a PCX owner skid, is absolute tosh in my book....

i've had a PCX since they came out - currently on my 4th..if someone took it away and gave me an N Max, i'm sure i'd be happy with it, but please stop keep harping on that the N max is infinately superior to the PCX, when it obviously isnt.....

    Lol
  13. Hi Guys! I just bought my Nmax this morning. Does any of you got a first class insurance? How much did you pay and what is the name of the company insuring you?

The Yamaha dealer gave me a quote of 16600thb for a first class insurance with Falcon... Really a joke since it is more than what I pay for my Kawasaki Versys 650 which is 3 times the value of an Nmax...

On top of the compulsory third party insurance Yamaha Dealer was offering a theft insurance (2000thb for 1 year, 2500thb for 2 years, 3000thb for 3 years) and an additional accident insurance 1700thb for 1 year for which he was not able to explain anything about...

If any of you got a descent second or first class insurance please let me know.

    Thanks

Send aa insurance an email, they are very good and 1st class should only be a couple of thousand.
