  1. We rented a '15 PCX for a day and the Nmax was tried at the dealer.

She hated the Nmax seat angle, kept sliding down and forward.

Loved the PCX from 2015, no issues with tire size on either.

So '16 PCX it is, even if it has to be ordered, and the dealer is farther away.

Brace your feet against the front of the bike and there will be no movement down or foreward, PCX a good choice if you are small!

  2. PCX gets the nod. NMAX tires too small making it look worse plus a disadvantage for highway cruising. NMAX no usb charger. PCX better top end. PCX brakes sufficient for scooter speeds. Yamaha misses the mark again.

Nmax, ABS makes it better (same price) smaller wheels but much bigger tires makes it safer, highway cruising superb as bike is so comfortable from standard, the bigger tires deal with holes far better than small tires, more leg room than PCX, 12v socket under seat cheap to fit, bike looks way better than PCX (my opinion) yamaha have done a superb job and at the same price as PCX, the facts are there, two bikes same price one has more than the other, which would you choose?
  3. Not mentioned because it's double the price and the thread title is Yamaha NMax, a comparison would not include the Forza but does include the NMax competition i.e PCX.

No problem with the NMax on long journeys, I've been to Cha am from Phuket on mine, over 2000kms over two weeks, very comfortable bike!

  4. Just bought the NMax 155cc and after only 135kms I am feeling vibration through the bars and the feet. Anyone had similar problems and any advice to reduce or eliminate the bad vibes?

3000kms completed and no problems, slight vibration with the wing mirrors which isn't a problem.

  5. That's halo. Ice crystals on the upper atmosphere reflect the light. A bit similar what happens with rainbow.

Cheers for that, just seen a news report regarding this, thought I was seeing things after two big Heinekens!
  6. Anyone know of a shop selling NMax accessories or can provide a link within Thailand that sells accesories, Yamaha only do a few, have seen a bike with some accessories so they are being sold somewhere, just back from a 2000km trip on the NMax, awesome bike.

  7. Pharmacist gave me Neurox-500 sorted the problem out quickly.

I'd suggest a 2nd opinion, as Neurox-500 (Piracetam) doesn't seem to be indicated for use in ear infections...

Used to Treat Mental retardation, Learning problems in children, behavioural problem and confusion state in elderly patients, cerebro-vascular accidents, cerebral insufficiencies

Piracetam is used, alongside other medicines, to treat a movement disorder called cortical myoclonus. This condition causes short jerky muscle movements, particularly in your arms and legs.

Why would I need a second opinion when the tablets have worked??

  8. OP, can you get back with what exactly you are using?

Couple weekends back we had some decent sized surf here in Phuket, I spent some time getting slammed bodysurfing which entails having sinuses and ears flushed with saltwater. Developed pain in my ear and have been using some old amoxcillan I had laying around. Sort of seems to be going away but still interested in what the pharmacist got for you. Thanks, GOM

Pharmacist gave me Neurox-500 sorted the problem out quickly.

  9. Basic self treatment would be Ear de-waxing to eliminate blocking. Then any of the broad spectrum anti biotics. Amoxy etc.

Cheers, last week when having a shower I did let a lot of water enter my ears(I don't normally let this happen) the girl explained about this and said to use ear plugs in future, my ears were de-waxed last year, I never go straight to a doctor or hospital for minor ailments, in the UK you are constantly told to visit the Pharmacist before a doctor this is something I agree with.

  10. Doctor needed I would say

Would rather get help here first, all you get from the doctors is loads of unnecessary tablets at great cost, had this before but can't remember what tablets I was given by the pharmacy.

Most probably Antibiotics will fix it......But if not you are delaying the right treatment and risk a lot. infections that are on the head shouldn't be taken lightly.

Problem is you can't look into your ear...

Doc for the ear should be cheap. And I would expect that he can explain what you have, explain every tablet and let you keep away the unnecessary one (like painkiller if there is not much pain).

Expensive it is if you go into some of the private hospitals....but in this case a small clinic may do the trick.

Cheers mate, just visited my local Pharmacy( very nice English speaking girl) I explained to her what was wrong, she then explained to me what was happening and what I needed(she was spot on) superb service, as I posted previously I have had this same thing before but forgot what tablets were prescribed.
