11 hours ago, LoeiI said:Hi, Just after some info really, my renewal is not for quite a while, my circumstances are as follows I live in Thailand on a non O based on retirement with a yearly extension i visit the UK at least once a year, given the choice would you renew in Thailand or the UK ? I'm wondering about stamp transfers Immigration issues general knob-ache etc. ? any help greatly appreciated TIA
If possible renew in the UK, use both Passports for return then transfer stamps when back in Thailand, I don't know this for certain but it would make everything easier if possible.

Do you still make an appointment at the Trendy building(Bangkok) for UK Passport renewal if so is there a link where to make the appointment.
Thanks.

Kbank can provide proof of all your transactions, the documents they provide satisfy all immigration requirements needed for extension of stay application
That is Bank letter,12 month bank statement and credit advice/receipts for monthly transfers
I will check again at my soon to get 800k retirement extension that Phuket Immigration only require 12 months of deposits into a Thai Bank account(Statement showing this) I did ask them if I need to prove where the deposits come from they said "no" they do not need anything else other than Bank letter and Statement, Passport copies, I am printing off my Statements showing my deposits so by next October(2023) I will be able to produce over 1 year of deposits.
I need to check this again as maybe IO didn't understand my request.

As the OP has stated he is already transferring funds now totaling 65k monthly Immigration will require proof 12 x. 65k receipts at the time of your extension application The receipt, statement, credit advice for each must show the funds come from offshore and be issued by your Thai bank
Thanks, I already said that Phuket Immigration do not need proof of where the transfers come from I only need to show the deposits in my Thai Bank (statements) I will check again when I go for my Extension.

Thanks for all your replies, I have already started printing out the deposits that go into my Thai Bank(Statement) to be safe I will also print out the statements from the Bank of America and Citi Bank, I have one other deposit which is from Tesco(not sure what Bank yet) all deposits are from the UK.

If you decide to go the income route, I would recommend starting to transfer money maybe two months before your current extension expires (for all the obvious reasons). Better safe than sorry.
I've had income into my Thai Bank for the last 13 years it's only recently that they now add up to 65k plus.
What are the obvious reasons?

You will have comply with rules that state you must keep 800k baht form the day you apply for the 3 months and then for 400k baht until you apply for your next extension using the income baht.
The bank letter will not prove you have transferred at least 65k baht for 12 months. A bank statement is needed for that,
So I have to wait untill my next extension in 2023 to be able to withdraw the 800k?
Phuket Immigration told me all I need is a Thai bank Statement showing the 12 deposits, plus Letter, I asked If I needed to prove where the deposits came from he said "no"

I will be doing my Retirement Extension very soon and using the 800k in the Bank, next year I will be changing to the 65k per month method, will I be able to withdraw the 800k after I get my new extension which is due soon. Its not a problem if I have to wait untill my renewal in 2023.
Ref the Bank letter and statement, the letter has to show the deposits making 65k or more per month, the letter will confirm I receive deposits totalling more than 65k per month is this correct?
Thanks.

Have you tried using the internet that you're using to post that question or calling them using the contact details that are online? Rhetorical question.
You can change your account details online when you log in to your account.
If you don't have a BoA account, they don't need your address to process your pension payment to a bank.
Citibank is used to process my pension and they have no idea what my address is, neither do they care.
I just wanted my correct address on the payment statement in case Immigration wouldn't accept it for Retirement combination method, hopefully it won't matter, its my name on the statement plus the payments replicate my Siam Bank Statement, I'll ask Immigration and show them the BOA statements hoping they will accept.
I also have a Pension sent through Citi Bank which does not show any address on the Statement.

Does anyone have a contact email for the Bank of America, my Pension provider(uk) sends my Pension via the Bank of America, I need to change my address that they have for me as its a very old address, my Pension provider can not help me with this, I tried Bangkok but they do not deal with normal Banking issues, I just need to email them in the hope they will change the address.
Thanks.

About 10 years ago, you would have used an income letter from the UK embassy. Since you can no longer provide such a letter, there is obviously an enormous change. It is aggravating, but you will be very lucky if they allow anything other than the official proof of 12 months of monthly transfers.
Thanks, all this is just to much trouble, I'm going to forget it and carry on with the 800k in the Bank which is very simple, I wanted to buy a Motorbike but instead I can get it on Finance over 2 years, thanks for the information.

I would swing by the Immigration Office, and get clarity on what is acceptable, preferably from one of the actual officers and not a volunteer. The IO's in Phuket are usually pretty good and consistent. Obviously you wouldn't have the actual bank statement/letter at this stage, but better to be prepared, and also make your actual extension application as early as possible (30 or 45 days before), giving time to get whatever else is required.
Thanks, I have my 90 day report this month so I will check with the guy outside room 103, maybe he will go inside and ask the IO, I did the combination method about 10 yrs ago and can't remember a problem but obviously things change.

Okay so I have my Pension providers letter and Pay slips(UK) I have my Thai bank statement confirming monthly transfers, if I also get a letter from my Thai bank which confirms the monthly credits are International that should be accepted by Immigration?
I don't know what else I could do.
-
All I can do is try with what I have, Pension provider letter proving I receive a monthly Pension(UK) Pension pay slips showing monthly pension(GBP)Thai bank statement showing Monthly deposits, if they don't accept it its not a problem.

Immigration will only accept 12 months of proof that you transferred your income into a Thai bank from abroad.
Okay, I can print off 12 months of Pension pay slips.

The Phuket immigration volunteers website states the combination option is available there.
See: https://piv-phuket.com/long-stay-extensions/retirement/
You will need to proof the the 12 months of income transfers came from abroad.
As I stated I have my Pension letter from the UK, I'm not using a full year just 6 months which I assume will be okay.

Just checking if I can use the combination method rather than the 800k in the bank.
I have my Pension letter confirming my monthly pension(UK) pension pay slips and copies of bank statement showing monthly deposits, I'm in Phuket.
I just want to take 240k keeping 560k for my Extension.

That referred to people without specific risk factors.
It is possible OP has been advised to take this because of a specific risk factor/condition.
Was told to take Asprin after a TIA Stoke, Doc also said nothing to worry about as most people have had a Stroke that they knew nothing about and felt nothing, I went dizzy with double vision for about 15 seconds. It scared me so I went to Hospital.

Wind?
I know Wind can be very painful as have had before but I've had many many tests and none have shown Wind in fact not one test has shown anything other than normal, in the last Yr I've had over 20 X-Rays on my Chest which also included my abdomin all clear, I'm convinced the Endoscopy will show nothing and just like the pain I had in my side(very bad and for a few months) it will disappear on its own.
You go to a Dr because you are unwell and need help, you trust them to help you but like many all they seem to be interested in is giving you loads of tablets, I've had 10k worth of tablets in the last 4 months and were useless!!

It may be a good idea to have a different doctor check your insides.
If your current one is an idiot, he won't understand any of the test results.
Previous Dr was at a Phuket Private Hospital current one is at Mission Hospital(Phuket) and He is a She.

Not that valid an opinion then.
I've had a Thai specialist doctor suggest appendix removal for constipation (on my 5yo son).
That's scary, I'll still go for Endoscopy as best check inside.

Nationality of doctor?
It makes a big difference IMHO, Thai doctors often totally incompetent.
