Local Thai restaurants
I stopped going there a few years back (pre-covid) I've never witnessed such scenes of disorganisation. I also stopped ordering from there as the food always took way longer than reasonable expectations. I hope they've improved. They do have a couple of 'Thai dishes' on their menu, but a Thai restaurant that does not make.

As she's Thai, talking about Thai restaurants in Thailand on a forum specifically about Thailand.... would you be prepared to take a stab in the dark ?????

Airlines are beginning to weigh passengers
And many people fly business class to avoid sitting next to people they may not 'appreciate'... So, the argument could be turned around, If someone is particular about who they sit near and don't want to sit next to a large overweight person, should they pay a premium to ensure they are 'safe' ??? Thats more of a devils advocate response, however the point is somewhat valid. This issue isn't quite as black and white as some people are making out.

You didn't asker why a size 6 was buying the same style clothes and a size 18 bloater ? Additionally (playing along) the costs are not so much the material, but the profits. So... a dress has $1 of material might have a $2 material cost for a larger person, but the dress still costs $60... (I don't know the exact material costs etc which all differ but thats the explanation I read a while ago).

Airlines are beginning to weigh passengers
Last year I sat in the same row (fortunately there was a seat between us) as a guy who was so obese opening the tray table to eat was impossible... (seat in front upright there was a 1-2" gap). IF the person in front reclined, the seat would have been touching his stomach. I really felt for the guy, I don't know what medical issues he had etc... but figured life has to be pretty tough for him.

My Brother-in-Law is an ex Rugby player... His nick-name is 'shoulders'.... He's fit, healthy, he cycles, has run marathons... but he still has to walk though doors sideways (exaggeration but you get my point)... .... why should he have to pay anything extra ??? The whole concept is morally wrong and it gets toxic when discussing overweight people. I can understand the arguments, but each one of them presented by someone who's perhaps forgotten or overlooked a little of their humanity.

Because she has a choice to carry extra baggage.... A physically fit and healthy 100kg man can't cut off a limb to lower his travel weight.
-
Airlines are beginning to weigh passengers
Those physically fit and healthy people who weight 80-100 kgs could be your local fire-men... ... why should their travel be penalised when its a requirement that they stay in their physical prime ?? Why should a 'tall person' pay more ??... are we now going to discriminate on genetics ?

Airlines are beginning to weigh passengers
I'm perhaps sensitive to the issue because I see a bigotry seeping into each similar debate. Firstly, airlines Economy seats have got smaller over the years as the airlines have tried to optimise and economise - thats one issue. But, people, with better diets have become taller and physically stronger, thus heaver. And thats ignoring the Obesity issue. Thus - IMO I believe it would be wrong to charge people based on size, especially if they are within healthy brackets for their height / physique. I see a grossly overweight 150cm tall Asian adult who probably weighs less than a tall, physically fit rugby player !! - why should the fit guy get charged more ?
-
Airlines are beginning to weigh passengers
Always an inflammatory debate. But should a fit and healthy 183cm 95kg muscular person pay more than a 150cm 40 kgs skinny girl ??? Why ?

Emirates air pill rules?
Layover <24 hours - the baggage goes through automatically to final destination. Stopover >24 hours - the baggage must be collected in Dubai. When the baggage is still processed (air-side) because not everyones bag in that 'airplane' container is destined for the same final destination. Is the 'transit baggage' checked ? - I'm not sure if it goes through X-rays or Sniffer dogs etc.. but I very much doubt either can pick up a couple of Codeine tablets. I suspect the ONLY way something like this (Codeine medication for example) is going to get picked up is IF upon exiting customs with your baggage and you are searched fully and they find the medication by hand.

Local Thai restaurants
She suggested she'd teach KannikaP with some Education, as he claimed a very simple question was 'very vague, not very clear'.... Nothing wrong with the Ops question, plenty wrong with the utter stupidity of some of the replies. Yup... Yinn was a bit hard-core and many suspected she was a Western male playing the part. I thing its fair enough for us to give the Op the benifit of the doubt on this one - its a reasonable question, not to far off the 'where's the best burger' type of question. Yup... I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.... Once we have got past Nick Carter's trolling responses.

Local Thai restaurants
Great !!... if you were genuine of course you'd post the name and location. This restaurant has a a Michelin star.... (319 Maha Chai Rd - Raan Jay Fai) ... however, its well and truly on the tourists 'to do list'...

There are native English speakers who's grammar and spelling is worse. If what is being written is easily understood, then there is no issue. A 'grammar checker' would help someone learning the language (and many of us), but I wonder if your point is not to offer advice but to kick someone who is on the receiving end of some very unfair comments.

Local Thai restaurants
Fair enough - if you think that is a Thai Restaurant worthy of note...

She asked about Thai restuarants, and anyone who can't work out what that is is a fool. For the record... A 'Fish & Chip' shop in teh UK is a 'take-away restaurant'... ... and some of them you can 'eat in'.... in which case its just a 'restaurant' that sells Fish & Chips ! In this case its pretty clear that the op wants... A non-touristy, Thai Restaurant (restaurant selling Thai food) in which a person or group can sit down and eat..... Its really not difficult - why are so many people being pr!cks about this ??
-
Local Thai restaurants
So what... Difficult for you to get to is someone else's 'next door'.... so your point is utterly irrelevant. Very clear parameters.... Non-Touristy Thai Restaurant... Thats simple. If you dont understand that, it is you who is flawed. Good - What Thai restaurants in the LaSalle / Bearing area do you think are good ? (it wasn't difficult was it !) She's getting snarky answers because idiots are bullying a new poster. The question is a simple one and the answers could be handy to many of us who are interested in visiting different Thai restaurants.

Local Thai restaurants
Don't be ridiculous... We're in Thailand... a restaurant is somewhere where you can sit down an order food, in this case, Thai food - thats as complex is this question needs to get.
-
Local Thai restaurants
I think rightly so... A very simply and valid question has been asked and the Op has received some pretty moronic responses. I am personally interested in this thread as I often have guests visiting and it would good to learn of other Thai restaurants (restaurants which serve Thai food) that I could visit with guests. I know there are hundreds around, but some are better than others, some have a nicer setting etc, some are just rubbishy tourist rip-offs and some are spit 'n sawdust but authentic and amazing. This thread is not really any different than a 'best burger' thread which for some reason doesn't attract the same decree moronic responses.

De facto wife
Can we not just work on the premise that the Op isn't gallactically stupid and the fact that he is discussing visa options for his 'Partner' is clear indication that she is not Thai ?
-
Local Thai restaurants
You are either deliberately trolling or are genuinely unintelligent. A Thai Restaurant cooks Thai Cuisine. A Mexican restaurant in Thailand cooks Mexican Cuisine.
-
Local Thai restaurants
Op asked specifically for 'Local Thai Restaurant'.... Not Local Restaurant in Thailand. Thai Restaurant - Restaurant that sells Thai food. Local Thai Restaurant - Restaurant that sells Thai food (near you in Thailand). Local Restaurant - Restaurant (near you in Thailand) that sells any food. The assumption with the use of the worth 'local' is that the person responding is in Thailand, otherwise we'd have people such as yourself deliberately obfuscating the issue and listing their 'Local Thai restaurant' in Kentucky (or wherever they are).

It seems a couple of mongers are struggling with the idea that not everyone bin's their partner in lieu of banging prostitutes.... Exactly as DrJack54 wrote - the provision more info will yield better advice. i.e. is your Partner planning on living in Thailand full time or visiting for a few months at a time etc.

X-ray - Bangkok | Ankle fracture
Just curious - how much was the MRI ?? I just had two MRI's - One at Bangkok hospital which was 10,000 baht. - Another at Burmrungrad (2nd opinion) which was 17,700 baht (both costs listed are package costs before physicians charges are added). Dr's are more than happy to interpret the results from imagery taken at another hospital. Thus: as you mention, its possible to get an X-ray at a cheaper place and then go to a hospital where a Dr. will speak English and perhaps even do a better job of image analysis. There are a lot of good things said about Bangkok Christian Hospital too - so that is also an excellent option and much likely cheaper than the Hospitals I listed above. It's also very probable that the Dr's there will speak English.
-
X-ray - Bangkok | Ankle fracture
Of course it seems expensive if you are comparing a Top Tier International Private Hospital in Bangkok with a provincial government hospital in Nan !!! I'm sure there are numerous cheaper clinics and public hospitals in Bangkok too... ... Do the Dr's speak English there ? (part of the ops requirement).
