I read all your story. It could be explained by the fact that they did not notice the non-o and to save face made it like they were doing you a favor and let you in. The other explanation would means that I need to convert my non-o to an extension ????

Highly likely. When I was traveling in and out of Thailand on a Non Immigrant O, I must have been stamped in three or four times on a 30 day visa exemption. Always having to go back and get it corrected. IO always implying it was somehow my fault in spite of filling out the visa number on the TM6.

For me, getting these questions here indicates that their overzealous enforcement and unprofessional conduct causes collateral damage by worrying even those who need not be worried - some of them will just stay away.

They clearly don't understand how the internet and social media works.

OP I would not be too worried. I have made six VE entries since April without so much as a raised eyebrow from the IO. Each time stayed led than 30 days. Always prepared though with return flight, 20k and hotel booking.

I'd be interested in hearing that too by members here with dual citizenships & passports who do alternate it. Any issues with the IO when arriving? Does it help with the METV situation?

Five years in Thailand initially VE and then four consecutive multiple entry non immigrant O's. Monthly trips in and out of Thailand all in my Australian passport.

Refused a fifth non immigrant visa and so switched to UK passport and have to date made six VE entries. UK passport had never been used to enter Thailand.

UK passport is linked to biometrics but Australian is not. As soon as the two passports are linked by biometrics it's game over. Also wondering how many more VE entries I can do on my UK passport.

While it might seem irrational to you, I think it is quite reasonable given the regularity one comes across obnoxious Thais in uniform who thrive on lauding it over visitors and "showing off" their power. It makes many of us sick and is a dreadful welcome to the country if the Immigration Officer is rude and obnoxious for no good reason....which increasingly seems to be the case if reports here are anything to go by!

Don't need to wait until you get to Thailand! I have observed Thai consulate staff in Australia being rude and obnoxious. In one case a member of staff yelled at someone for using their mobile phone.

As it‘s all about Kharma in Thailand. Sooner or later she we meet a farang who has influential contacts in Thailand. Contacts who will make her loose her face and that will end in a desaster for her. Hope she will get that encounter sooner than later.

She's been getting away with it for a while. Same one I encountered in 2014 when the visa exempt problems started. Nasty piece of work.

Interesting thing happened to me in Suvarnabhumi 2 days ago as well. After coming to Thailand on tourist visas and visa exempt stamps for 3 years I got non-imm "O" visa for the first time so I was pretty confident that this time they wont say anything to me because I do it the "correct" way.

After arriving to immigration counter, the IO opened my passport and looked at my previous stamps (maybe like 5 of them) almost 2 minutes and asked me what Im doing in Thailand. I said Im going to stay with my wife here (she even was on the same flight). He said that I have to go with him right now to the interrogation room. I asked why but he didn't replied and just said that I have to walk with him. We walked like 5 metres and I asked why again. He said that I don't have a visa and cannot stay in Thailand anymore. I said I have the visa and he stopped. I showed him the Non-imm "O". He said wait here and he went to call some of his colleague. That guy circles something in my passport and give back to the IO. After that he asked me to go back to the counter. And then he asked me many questions like:

Are you working in Thailand ?

I said no. I cannot, because I dont have working permit.

    Do I have a child?

    I said no again

How can I stay in Thailand that long without working?

I said I work in my country for few months and then come here. Which is true.

    Where is my wife ?

    What is her work ?

Why I have so many stamps in my passport ?

Why I wanna stay in Thailand ? and other questions.

I didn't feel comfortable at all because his voice tone was very angry.

After that he stamped my passport and said that I can go. When I opened my passport I saw that the "O" and multiple entries were circled.

My guess is that he didn't even saw my visa and just started "doing" instead of "thinking" first. Completely unnecessary situation that he could avoided by just doing his job correctly.

Been stamped in for 30 days many times on a Non O. Always check and go back to the IO to get the correct stamp. Some IOs are apologetic some seem to think it's my fault they didn't see the visa.

Always read these stories with the thought in the back of my mind there must be more to the story.

I dont understand why everyone thinks Thai immigration are tough? You would not be able to stay in Australia on tourist extensions same as it is very difficult to get long term living visas. I think Immigration very reasonable here. Maybe a few grumpy officers but Ive struck the same back home. Interrogated by Aus customs for 30 mins because I had three holidays to SE Asia in 2 years.

My Thai partner was granted a one year multiple entry visa for Australia and was able to come and go as she pleased using the immigration auto gates.

    But of a difference aye?

Maybe a relative 555 , but on serious note the higher ranking tom at don muang is quite a nasty character.

I work for company doing IT equipment and spent a few days in that airport and it quite a drastic change to what was even 18 months ago .
I think a jew would of had better treatment with fake documents trying exit germany in 1942 .

Need to get it going off on video placed on social media to embarrass Thailand. Problem solved, inactive post filled.

Boy, must be love if you cannot be separated from your partner for 30 minutes in an immigration cue

    Not the issue really. Sighs...

The Thai queue is always shorter and I believe (maybe incorrectly) that there is less chance of being denied entry if you can point behind you and say 'she my wife me'.
