  1. I wouldn't use Twitter as a barometer, it's a cesspit of anonymity and racism. Those Thai comments are little different to many on AN about 'immigrants' in their home country. It's not a fair reflection of society.
  2. And Thaiger thinks its A380 article today deserves a picture of a 747. Couldn't make it up.
  3. We only have one side to the story at the moment. The side of the story that makes the Thai guy look like an apologetic angel. From the video the yank does imply that he told them he was carrying green tea and they still splashed him after. I'd be upset too, not yank explosive upset of course, but still pretty miffed.
  4. Yep. I really don't know why this particular English newspapers has to take Thai articles and translate them verbatim (With an unintelligent AI engine), this is what happens. It does show the cringiness and propaganda of the original Thai article though, so there's that.
  5. I think it's the immigration computer system taking the law lightly. 351 days.
  6. Quite brazen to setup and run a company that simultaneously scams, forges and launders. Well done CSD.
  7. In 130 days. 1.4m a day, every day from ATMs. How does that not trigger alarm bells!
  8. OK. I'd rather believe my tax accountant thanks. I stopped filing 12 years ago when i no longer needed to work. Not a bean from them about filing. I think your scaring folk. Exclamation marks included.
  9. Cant vouch for anyone else but it was the same thinking as me for sure. It may be wrong to be calling it a loophole, more of a feature to repatriate funds for the wealthy?

  11. Correct. It's a small change, but huge ramifications. We all used the loophole for bringing money in.
  12. I agree. But a blanket assessable income directive without clarity and rules isn't the way to go about it. I'd wager most on here have had their money already assessed (and deducted if required) for tax, but many won't be able to prove it.
  13. Excellent answer. I was told by my guy the 400 transactions were for incoming domestic however. He couldn't put a quantity figure on international. My guy especially said #8 in your list should be done jic.
  14. I don't know what io office you use. But here in Phuket if I try and do anything at immigration after staying in a hotel I get blasted and told to submit a tm30 first to bring my address back to Phuket. Happened multiple times.
  15. Correct. My accountant said absolutely do nothing and never voluntarily submit a tax form especially if you never have. Worst case scenario is pleading ignorance and at worst is back payment. Accountants words.
  16. Yes I read correctly. Did you read mine correctly? Tm30 is needed for domestic address change also.
  17. TM30 is dropped? Good luck getting anything done at immigration if your current address is still 'some hotel in Thailand'.
  18. This is the best way until we get clarity. International ATM withdrawals can't be tracked back. Larger purchases is where they are shooting themselves in the foot. Who on earth is going to buy a condo/house/car knowing they might have to pay a 30% tax premium on top of the purchase price come the end of the year? Who is going to put their kids in a high end school if the cost is now 30% more? Who will open a business, if to fund it you'll be liable for income tax? It'll all have to come from offshore without touching the local bank...
  19. Yes the empty headed idiots really are on show this morning.
