Household lost an electronic skin rejuvenation kit to the same rules recently. We could do nothing. Also a handheld marine radio a few years back. They wont send them back, so effectively they are gone. Be careful. On both occasions it wasn't so much that they were medical and radio devices, it was also that the products themselves have not been tested and approved and therefore the only way to get them in was to obtain certification. Not practical for a one off import.

Weird on both counts isn't it. TV readers love to pounce on a location they don't live in, particularly Phuket. As for why the motor-sai guy did what he did, who knows, I'd guess he probably asked the customers if they needed a taxi and they said no then they got in this car instead....lost face. -

What did he say that was wrong? I agree with all he said. Phuket is becoming a millionaire's playground, like it or not. And why is it becoming that you should ask? Top notch shopping, dining, environment, hospitals, regional connectivity as well as excellent sailing grounds for our yachts with a myriad of beach destinations to choose from. And yes, loads of Singaporeans and Singapore expats do 5 days offshore 2 days on here, because it has a better lifestyle and its cheaper for them to do that in terms of housing and schooling. -

Lol. What? Are you talking about Pattaya maybe? Sounds like your describing some slum in Haiti. Get a grip. You probably live in Issan. -
French duo’s extortion plan fails to baguette away with it in Phuket
gravity101 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I'll believe it when they find them. 30 years and ive never heard of a daytime robbery or extortion on a local before by a tourist. Bold as brass if its true, Imagine all the reprocussions for a lousy 2k. -
What does this mean? Is that the current penalty for not filing? To the original query, I haven't filed for many years and I don't plan to restart because I now have a WP visa. I don't see the advantage of advertising and will continue to plead ignorance about having to file when I have no income if any agency comes knocking.

Foreign couple loses 100,000 baht to Muay Thai trainer in Phuket

Brave of them to come forward. I'd be embarrassed saying I payed 100k as well as telling the world I'm learning to box while pregnant. -
Are cars legally required to stop for a zebra?

I'd love a study on this. Driving behaviour is so contrary to how they behave otherwise. My simplistic view is that they are anonymous in a vehicle and this is actually their true trait. Whereas when they are visible to others they fake courtesy. -

Yeah it's a Z car ruined with nasty alloys and a bad colour scheme and an horrendous spoiler. It's far from luxury and far from a super car rofl. Not even expenaive. At 30 he should know better, 0% style, 100% prat.

Portfolio Tracking
gravity101 replied to 1FinickyOne's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If its just equities, Schwab has ample tools and dashboards. It's when it gets complicated then the only real answer is a spreadsheet to collate everything together. Luckily, xls does have some data feeds to populate a lot of the data. I use investing app a lot too. Don't they say don't look daily at your portfolio anyway? -
Unclear, but the best bet surely at this time. I do know I can officially bring money in now without fear of owing any tax, that is reason enough and for me and the main reason. 50k is nothing for that peace of mind. The 10 year multiple entry etc etc is just a bonus (and cheaper). There are other ways to move world wide income around to avoid the CRS/FACTA reporting back to Thailand if it ever got to that, that's got to be better than uprooting to another country for me.

Alas we are not all the same, but are indeed in the same boat. Most I'd wager are on year on year Non-O/Non-B visas, or now on 6+6 month DTV visas. Some maybe juggling (or forging) documentation, some blocking out funds that they need or even borrowing funds, having to do border runs or spending hours in front of IOs each year who are now faced with potential tax bills on top of that. Judging from other threads, I've seen great delight in calling out those those that have paid for an easy ride and privileges that may now be taken away. For example, the elite visa is practically a dirty admission now on the forums, which I find funny, because all the elite visa holders I know are perfectly content, because they are (ahem), rich and don't care.
