  1. The computer came with Windows XP Pro Swedish installed, a legit version too, which is still being updated. But there is no installation CD. So if I buy a new hard drive I have a problem. I need the Swedish version of Windows XP Pro, and I can only get a legit version in Sweden. It costs an arm and a leg.

You don't have to install everything again if you buy a new hard drive. Most of the shops would be happy to "clone" your original HDD to the new one which you simply have to just install into your laptop and not worry about re-installing or re-configuring all over again.

  2. Eating leaves in Thailand isn't anywhere near as strange as those in India who for one day a year eat live fish to cure asthma is it?

The fish is not eaten. A ball of medicine is stuffed into a live fish and the asthma sufferer has to swallow the fish live. They claim that the wiggling of the live fish makes the medicine more effective as it helps clear accumulated phlegm from the patient's throat as it slithers down towards the stomach. :o

  3. Dr Phaijit said condoms should be kept in a dry and cool place, away from direct sunlight and fluorescent light, and without heavy pressure on them.

Hope this rings a warning bell for those who carry around emergency stock in the wallets for those lucky nights out. :o

  4. I am desperate to get some extra space on my C drive, only 532 MB remain and that does not seem to help performance. I am planning to buy another 512 megs of RAM as well, in order to avoid the ridiculously large page file I have at the moment.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Is the default size of the file "pagefile" directly proportional to the amount of RAM installed? I did not notice the size before I upgraded the RAM from 1GB to 2GB but now I notice that the size is 1.99 GB. So, if that's true, by adding another 512 MB ram, you'll reduce your HDD space. Is your D drive simply another partition or a second drive. Why don't you go out and buy another HDD? For me, how much ever HDD I have, it's not enough :o I have 3 HDD installed in my computer (279 + 114 + 114) still not enough :D

  5. Wow!!! 130 postings so far and yet no one commented about this. Everyone who accused the employee and suggested firing him were right. But, no one pointed about the other employees in this particular branch. There should be at least 4 or 5 other employees minimum working in this branch. Is it only this particular employee cheating or are the others aware and doing it themselves :o?

  6. Try their !@#$^ virus scanner on google mail :o . Simply won't allow you to attach a zip file. I had a 100 mb file to send to my brother, so I zipped it up breaking it into 9mb each for the maximum limit you can upload in online mail programs. Don't remember the exact message, but each and every of these 12 part zip files I uploaded to google, the online scanner would not allow me to attach or send as it said there was a virus. I uploaded the very same files via hotmail and yahoo without any problem whatsoever. :D

  7. If you did not slip across the border illegally into another country, you should have no departure stamp from those countries.

I don't know about western countries or UK, but in India they have stamp on entry for citizens too. If you have such a stamp showing your arrival in UK, you could use it as a proof that you did not overstay over the 3 days, if Thai immigration tries to bully you saying you overstayed a much longer time than you claim.

  8. Thanks for the info, JG n TW, but I'm already aware of these water changes and covering the jar etc. When I'm ready to consume, the water I mentioned in the bowl is not the water used for sprouting but just normal drinking water I add just before placing the bowl in the microwave. My concern is about this water after the cooking in MW and also does MW cooking degrades the sprout's nutritional value?

  9. Sorry did not know where to post this.

I like to eat mung bean sprout. I soak in water for 2-3 days. After they sprout, I put a cupful of sprouts with water just enough to sink all of it and microwave it on high between 2 to 3 minutes. Sometime, after eating the beans, I drink the water while other times I toss the water out.

My query is whether microwaving destroys any nutritional value? Also, does drinking this water give any added benefits or am I better off draining and tossing it out.

    Thanks :o

  10. That's odd, since the fee is levied in THB, not in another currency to be converted to THB. In what country was your ticket issued, and how much was the "tax" stated and in what currency (before being converted to THB)?

Guess on his itinerary, Bkk was the 2nd leg of his trip. eg. if he booked from JFK, his itinerary'd be JFK-BKK-JFK. So, he'd be charged in a foreign currency. Just my thought.
