Its the ruination of songkran I object to, how many of these water chucking morons knew yesterday was family day and today old peoples day in songkran? Its all been bastardized on the alter of tourism and these clowns with water guns are the sort of visitors I want nothing to do with. They always claim the love Thai culture, while helping to ruin it.

Where do you live in Thailand? Because if it's Pattaya then that's how it is there.  Most other places in Thailand aren't like that. One day and it's done.  If you do live in Pattaya go away during that week SIMPLE!!

Well the upside for this sick POS is that he will die in prison where he belongs and when his new inmate friends find out what he has done well he's going to get what he deserves good riddens.

These days they're well protected and are segregated from other prisoners.  So, They don't even get the kicking they deserve.

That's not quite true. While there were jurisdictions that kept mask mandates going for longer, officially, Thailand had one of the world's longest mask mandates, running from March 26, 2020 through to June 23, 2022. While Hong Kong continued until February 28, 2023 with its own mask mandate, funnily enough Hong Kongers moved on from masks much more quickly than Thais.

Thais still believe masks work, which makes me wonder why they don't think "why are we the only ones still masking up?"

Two things... One.  i did say they carried it on longer than most countries in brackets and 2. I've now realized it's an april fools as a few posters have pointed out.  So, It doesn't matter anyway.

  4. It could be a throwaway comment and will come to nothing but would be interesting to see how this pans out because before when tourists had to wear masks here,  everywhere else was(although Thailand did carry it on a lot longer than most countries) as well, so wasn't such a big deal.   but now that, in general every country has ditched them.  They might find tourists won't be so keen to wear them.    Especially as a lot more people are probably skeptical they even do anything than when covid first broke out and people believed the masks did do something.

Its the main reason I am here, just got in from a great concert Ying Lee, Yuki, Lamyong, Biotoy etc, great dancers-150 baht for 5 hours. We never even paid singers gave us free tickets and Japanese fans bought us beer. Been to about 1200 concerts here over 25 years.

Each to their own but i think Thai music is abysmal.  I love many things about the Thai culture/life... food, weather, etc, etc If you asked me what i don't like about the Thai culture, their music would be top of the list.

This is Thailand, why should the radio have western music all over it? Normal music for Thai is luktung, morlam, phua cheewit, string etc not western sounds. People will never be demanding international bands beyond a few such as Blackpink or BTS while they have such great music of thier own, one thing Thais have a genius for is music.

Thailand does not need inflated western ego's, some with minimal talent coming at enormous cost. The few that have appeared here like Elton John, the Gaga woman and potty mouthed Cardi B have not gone down that well. For tickets costing thousands of baht Thais expect to see a show and be entertained, turning up is not enough.

You gotta be joking!  they're a lot of great things about Thailand but Thai music is definitely not one of them. It's awful.
