TAT Proposes Extended Visa-Free Stays to Boost Tourism
paulikens replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yet again mentioning this but never actually saying when or IF it will implemented. Just decide what you're going to do and crack on ffs! And anyway its the tourism board saying this and its the government we need to be talking about it or finally deciding if they going to do it. -
Is any country getting as many tourists as they were pre-pandemic levels? I doubt it.

Government to consider expanding 4am closing times
paulikens replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
@Burma Bill So, The Ghanaian tourist only started drink driving the day they started the 4 am closing time. The problem is people who are willing to drink and drive. not the closing time. To think 4am closing times and drink driving is correlated is utter nonsense. Anyone who is willing to drink and drive will do it anytime they want. So, the Ghanaian would have just killed someone at 2am instead of 4am. -

Srettha Proposes Visa-Free Entry For Both Thais And Chinese

It was spoken about 6 weeks ago but never mentioned again. I suppose they'll see how high season goes first and whether they need to do it or not. -
Maybe because they don't need to be. Most Thai students (and Thai teachers) don't even know basic English. They need to be taught that first and the basic qualification for that is either be a native speaker or It's your 2nd language. And then maybe when they're finally at a decent level of English (ten years) they could need some actual real teachers.

But the Thai government know about the russia ukraine war and they're the one who decided this policy. Yes a general member of the thai public couldn't care less about the war and see russians as just farangs but they're not the ones who decided to give them 90 days its the government and they know full well the implications of this.
