  1. I can count to 999 billion Baht. (I still haven't learned what the Thai word for trillion is I have to admit) Edit: Just learnt it now: The Thai word for "trillion" is ล้านล้าน (lan-lan), which literally means "a million million." Here's the breakdown: ล้าน (lan) means "million." Repeating it as ล้านล้าน indicates "a million times a million," which equals one trillion (1,000,000,000,000).
  2. I've tried out three in 2024, Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia. All three recommended.
  3. I did. To another asian nation. It's a different universe regarding friendliness and respect. Not kidding.
  4. Reading all these endless tax discussions makes me just feel sad for all the expats who choose to stay in a country that treats them the way Thailand does. I have outlined this in comments from last year and in 2023. (see below for a few of them) How can you accept paying ONE Baht tax to a country which not only gives you zilch in return. Not only that, but discriminates you to a degree you could easily call it something very derogatory. I lived 15 years in Thailand up until 2014. Already pissed off with the countless government mandated discrimination rules: 90 day reporting, reporting to police if you leave your home overnight and to police if you leave your province, triple mandated hospital fees, ten times fees in the judicial system including fines, 10 times fees in government owned attractions, farang pricing in hotels, groce discrimination in the property market. Not to mention the intrusive and degrading treatment of expats married to a Thai, and hostile treatment by immigration, I decided enough was enough. Now I am in another SEA country (I managed to stay only 179 days in Thailand in 2024) What an eye opener. Just feel sorry for you the guys who are cemented in Thailand without means or energy or will to get out. My 5 cents.
  5. So one single M-Flow gate is causing all these problems. What does that tell you about Thais and Thailand...?
  6. Bull<deleted>. M-Flow lanes have barriers.
  7. Most of the Thai people that get a free helmet will sell it. Heck: 200 Baht is four hot meals.
  8. You have no clue @ChaiyaTH. Less than 180 days in Thailand = zero tax in Thailand. If you doubt me, speak to a tax expert in one of the big 5. Status in other countries is irrelevant.
  9. You are both wrong regarding salaries. Pension is a grey area.
  10. Completely wrong in your first paragraph. Correct in your second paragraph. PS: Your are obviously blind to your own contradiction here. (Paragraph one versus two)
  11. Jesus. You should stop commenting. You haven't got a clue.
  12. Sorry to say, but you are wrong @newbee2022 EU countries do not consider you a tax resident after you have moved out and stayed outside for a certain period. In my case 3 years.
  13. He wanted the LTR,but the turnover of his Foreign employer wasn't high enough.
  14. Yes, single. He rents in Thailand. 3 bedroom house, two bathrooms, big carport. 8000 Baht a month
  15. A friend of mine relocated to another country half the year already. Total cost looking solely at 2024: One time expenses mostly (deposits for renting a house, furniture, aircon, TV washing machine, etc), including travel: approximately 370.000 Baht). Saved Thai tax circa 600.000 Baht. A no brainer for him. Total cost 2025 in new country: Around 380.000 Baht (rent, electrisity, water, wifi, mobile phone plan, motor insurance etc) including 6 return travels. Saved Thai tax 2025: Approximately 600.000 Baht. He didn't have to, but bought a new ride in the new country. So that increases the above mentioned cost, but the American dream machine was under half price of (crazy) Thailand, which made it a sheer joy to purchase he told me. PS: Due to unforeseen circumstances in December, he just made it out of Thailand, with two hours to spare!, in order to not exceed the 180 days maximum limit for 2024.
  16. 4 million Thais pay income tax (almost all employed by the state). Less than 10% of the registered work force.
  17. Thailand is a failed state. This will be proved soon by it's economy.
  18. So if we crash head to head you are safer? And the weight of my car is not what you say, but exactly the double of your's: Gross vehicle mass (GVM): 3,130 kg
  19. Yes, those specs are true. But which one is more fun to drive? And which one is safest? (big, heavy is a safe bet in Thailand)
  20. What if your Thai wife leaves you for somebody younger and more handsome than you? Or maybe she just leaves you? Say goodbye to the house. PS: It's 5.8 seceonds 0-100 km/h without mods.
  21. I see the envy of EV-owners when I thunder past them on M3 on my way from Suvarnabhumi to Ban Chang (they can't try to outgun me cause then they would have to turn off their aircon on their way to Rayong to save power) To rub it in, I select the fullest volume on the V6 Ranger Raptors adjustable sports exhaust when I fly by them. The feeling is great. 🙂
  22. PS: You should have recorded screen-shot-video of Google Maps showing the actual speed of the bus and contacted Thai Rath (the largest Thai newspaper) or one of the Thai TV channels.
  23. Drive your own car. With the biggest/heaviest car you can afford. The best safety tip in the universe considering travelling anywhere in The Land of Fake Smiles. Even when I go abroad for a month, or a month and a half, I park my 3 ton Ford V6 Ranger Raptor at Suvarnabhumi. Cannot be any safer. And I don't have to deal with Thai taxi mafia, which is another plus. I should get paid for giving so good advise to fellow westernes. Do you agree?
