So I am trying to sign up to paypal and they are asking for a 6 digit sort code. Back in the UK I'd get this number from statements but I can't find this number anywhere on my documents and they look totally bewildered when I asked them in branch. They gave me a swift code which has 8 letters not 6 like asked for on Paypal.

Sounds like you are trying to link your bank account with a non Thai paypal account. PayPal will not allow you to do this. You need to open a PayPal account in Thailand using PayPal.co.th and you wil then find the account association form has an 8 digit Swift Code input field. PayPal are understandably quite restrictive on linking different countries banks with other countries paypal.accounts to try and prevent their services being used for money laundering. As a sidenote PayPal is quite an expensive service if you are using it just to transfer money - their exchange rates are awful.

I had to do the same,, Open a new paypal account (Thailand),, use another email address to use with it,,, (maybe possible to use the same email address you already use for your US/UK PP account, I can't remember if it allowed that) then link it to my Thai bank account, (SCB),, then worked the same as my US PayPal ,, enter the info, PayPal deposits a small amount to your Thai bank account, about .02 Baht, go back onto PayPal,,,, enter the amount to verify,,, You can then, transfer money from either PayPal account back and forth,,, Thai PayPal to your US/UK PP account,, deposit into that linked bank,,,, or from US/UK bank, uploaded to US/UK PayPal,, transfer from US/UK PayPal to Thai PayPal, withdraw into linked Thai bank account,,, it's actually a nice way to kinda do a, international "wire" to yourself,,, without the fees, Withdrawl's from Thai PP, to Thai banks takes about 5-7 days to hit your Thai bank,,,, BTW,,,,, My bank,, SCB,, has their SWIFT code posted on their general website for THAT,, MY particular branch,, so depending on which bank you use here,, They might also,, If you update your passbook, at an automated machine, you'll see the very small PP deposit,,, AND can get their swift code from their website,,, you could do it all without having to even go to your bank,,,

you can open a thai paypal account with a credit card whatever country, only thing is you need a emailadress never linked to any other paypal account and a thai adress, (even a fake one, they charge you a deposit of 70 baht and on you bankstatement about 3 days later you see a 4 digit code this ypu have to enter in your paypalaccount by verify your credit card

or you link your thai bankaccount to your paypal account, you need only your account number, no swift or other codes, you choose the name of the bank and you put your account number in, paypal will sell 2 amounts of something betrween 0.02 Baht to 0.2 baht to your account, this 2 amounts you have to put in your paypal account as confirmation.

this are the 2 ways for opening a verifyed thai paypal account,

ou cant send money to your paypal account by bank transfer, only when you use a credit or debit card or a payment from another paypalaccount!!

yes it would be a great bussines if 1% of Indian people would come to Thailand, but

1% cant afford this wedding as at a average indian wedding are more than 300 people so you need 2 plains to come to thailand and back,

and this can afford may be 200 to 500 indian people who 80% are already married, and

then Thailand is in compitition with much nicer destination for a wedding like private islands or resorts

Actually a lot of countries have special charted flights for weddings, Hawaii, Hollywood, Disneyland just to name a few. and if statistics show that there are a lot of couples from India coming to Thailand to get married, then why not make such a suggestion? remember if you can afford to charter an aircraft then you can afford to stay in the best hotel for your honeymoon, and what about the families and wedding guests that will be invited? I can assure you they will be financially strong.

I see nobody really know the german election system

you hav edirect candidates in each voting districts, and you have represantive of the parties who are on a voting list, and as much % a partie gets all over germany as many friom this list will go to the parlament. So in theorie if you have the most % of voters but you not have any direct candidate you not have most peopel in parlament. Also it depends how many parties come into the parlament and how many % not count (parties under 5%)

But the system of election is not important, much more important that the law is good and also that police and prosecutors enforce the good law.

here is no system in prices for used cars,

i sold my MX5 A in Europe for 2000 Euro in January, in June maybe I would get 3000 Euro, and this car in very good condition, 22 Years old,

you can buy everywhere in europe in great condition between 2-4000 Euro 150000 Baht,

the cheapest ever here in Thailand was 650000 Baht up to 900000 Baht for a car older than 20 years

nearly 10 times the price you can buy this car in Europe.

If they would value the cars with real prices in Thailand than 90% of all dealers would be bankrupt because the money they owns to bank has no garantee anymore. But if Thailand want to have free trade agreements with Europe or USA than there can not be import tax on Cars anymore and this would mean, the car owners loosing over night 30 to 90% of their car values.

Or Thailand can not export cars to EU o USA and the factories will close because production is to high for the Thai market and japanese market

Every guesthouse/hotel has to report details of their foreign guests to immigration. In Phuket for example, there is an online system for reporting these details, which not only include the guest's name, age, gender, nationality, passport number, address, but also their full visa details, expiry date, type of visa etc etc.

so if you are so sure, we can bet,

I check in in any 5 star hotel in Phuket with my driver license, if yes you pay the room,

Discussion for nothing, overstay is not the hotel bussiness, you can even check in with a paper copy of passport,

or bike rentals, airlines, banks, and other branches have to check Visa Status also,

and Overstay is no crime even in Thailand! it is an offense, with a money fine!

And to tell the customer that he can get problem, I guess if 40 days on overstay he knows already that he is on overstay, so

no need to tell customer anything, Just make a copy of the 1 page and report same way like with every other customer.
