  1. Well, you're surely going to get lots of horrified horror stories on this. I dunno, can your friend afford to lose £15,000? If he can absorb such a loss, even if it means some hardship, let it go. It's too late to do anything anyway. I've heard a lot of horror stories and I've seen a few, but I hung out with a few hookers in my day and many of them were decent people. Maybe most of them, but most of them I never got to know that well. Yeah, usually her first loyalty isn't going to be to him, but maybe it will be. Evidently you live in the Northeast, do you speak Thai very well? Have you gotten acquainted with the girl? I don't know what the legal situation is, and frankly £15,000 sounds like a very small amount to open a bar in Hua Hin, but I think at this point all you can do is hope for the best and be ready to support your friend (with sympathy) if he comes to grief.

15.000,- for a bar seems to small,

    or it is rather small,

    or a bad location,

or it is only the rent for 5 years or so ??

The price for a bar is for

    1. Furniture, fixtures and fittings.

    2. Stock..eg all the beer on hand.

Add those 2 up and take from the asking price. The difference is what you pay for the goodwill of buying an established business. Often the gross and net profit are refered to.

Now in Bobs case this amounted to 15000 quid which he gifted to his wife so she can be a lease holder.

On top of this yes rent is paid. That's the official rent and the under the counter rent known as key money. The first lot goes thru the books the 2 nd lot doesn't.

Now if the bar doesn't achieve enough net profit ( turnover less expense ) to pay the rent this is where Bob pays it on an ongoing basis until the lease expires or the joint is sold to the next falang ting tong.

  2. To the op,you also have to be aware of family members moving in,like my father in law,"the Ghoul" i call him as he resembels closely Klaus Kinski take on Dracula, refuses to even say hallo to me,creeps around ,doing god knows what, sit's too eat,and then berates my wife if no food comes, cannot, cook,or clean his own clothes lays in a hammock for most of the day,a fine example of a Thai man, i am praying every day that a cane truck hits him, hard, fuckin hard.

How much you gimme and I whack him.

  3. I did some investigating on this bar ownership.

The bar is quiet ...you lose

The bar is busy...here we go some Ting Tong make up list of expenses ....you lose

OP is hoping to make money and get points on the side for being such a kind heart.

    And a dumbass.

The real winner will be the land lord...releasing fees, renaming rights, key money and just keep selling the same bar over and over to stupid falang.

  4. I got taken in by one of those suit varmits so set about finding the cheapest.

Theres a Thai bloke in Soi 8 and he's got like songkram clay make up down the middle of his face. Its like the Hilton end of Soi 8.

Anyway this bloke does shirts for 300 baht and suits for 2000.

But he is still a varmit.

Now the suit I bought is silk/cashmere. I look as flash as a rat with a gold tooth.

  5. She sounds like a winner!!!! Put a ring on that finger!!!! Score....score score......did you have to hide her flip flops?....... a whole week.....wow.....no wonder you moved here you knew what you wanted and knew how ro get it!!!!! Perfect.

We were together off and on from Dec to early Jan during which time I was with over 20 yessir 20 bar girls being an all time personal record.

Then I came home to Perth and sucked up to her and that didn't work so I sent her money and..........

    WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

  6. What are the advantages / disadvantages of marrying a Thai? For those of you on your second marriage, what made you decide to try it again?

My wife is farang and I would put 90% of my chips on her staying faithful with a 10% buffer in case some stud sweeps her off her feet while I'm out of the country for work. If it ended I don't think I could take the plunge again. But I have always lacked foresight.

P.S.: If you are a stud, stay the hell away from my wife.

I have been married once and had at least 9 de factos.

Your falang is a star fish.

  7. My tilak complain about my womanising as I can pick up any chick in Pattaya.

    So I give her money.

I tell her I only lub her the others are just roots on the side should she leave.

She say she know as I am hansum man.

How much do you give to the roots on the side?

    Nothing.

I did ring my ex and ask her to go to bar where my tilak work ( at that time i since pay bar 5000 baht to own her. ) and go out with her for night and find out if she play around and my ex took extreme umbridge to this and called me rude names.

What she told me to do is a physical impossibility.

She does the beer runs, she's more gold than your wife.

Don't stop giving the wife loads of money......afterall what are relatives for?

My wife to be has 3 sisters.

    2 of them are real.

1 of them is a woodduck.

The woodduck is the one that gets the beer.

  9. So much negativity re Issan girls.

What if she really does just sit around her room all day and not chase tourist or have Thai husband.

My tilak hasn't left her room for a week. Her sister go and do the beer runs. She drink all the time and after I ring for some reason she drink even more. Isn't that great.

She sit around and wait for me.

    I treat her like gold.

So what if she is half my age and was a bar girl.

She say she love me and want to stay together for ever.

What if she really does stay.

What if it all works out.

I evaluated this and decided I can't live without her in my life so for the sake of a few grand I gave it a go.

She hasn't let me down since.
