Driving like maniacs, flouting traffic rules and not wearing helmets is killing a hell of a lot more people than not wearing a mask ever will. Study after study says that wearing masks outdoors is a useless and unnecessary exercise—wake up TV mask police.

Amen Bob, it may cost me to fly back to the U. S. where as you mention, everyone gets vaccinated regardless of where they’re from or who they are. Thailand’s government has turned into a bigoted hate filled organization, so sad. “Land of Smiles,” hah.

We’re all responsible for ourselves and securing the documentation we each believe will make our lives easier. Many people don’t believe obtaining a Yellow Tabien Baan (and Pink ID) card is necessary, whereas others have seen that obtaining these documents can be of benefit....

 

Amen, and it’s not hard, just takes a little effort to go down to the Tessabahn and apply. Some people would rather just complain than get off their duff and do something productive.

I don’t mind paying and would even prefer to do so providing I can choose my preferred vaccine.

First off, PM’s fine was a publicity stunt and the 6,000 baht fine was probably paid out of the public trough. Secondly, it is patently obvious that the government has badly mishandled procurement and dissemination of vaccines. Enough said.

Rather reminiscent of an Austrian paper hanger in the 1930s.

This is appalling. As soon as I get my visa renewed, I’m flying to the U.S. where one can get their pick of vaccines. They are available at hospitals, neighborhood urgent care facilities and at nationwide drug stores such as CVS & Walgreens, often free of charge if you can’t afford it. The Thai government has dragged its feet on procurement of vaccines and spends all of its energy locking down all manner of businesses causing untold pain and suffering to millions of Thais and foreigners alike, and I don’t mean from Covid!

Amen, we’re all going to die of something and I for one, as a 77 year old, am not going to hide in a closet for my remaining days, months or years. This hysteria over Covid is way overblown and hyped beyond all reason

The first wave caused the strain from Italy, in March.
