So they refused your application when you visited in the morning and then gave you an appointment after lunch?

Can we presume you are on a retired extension?

What additional paperwork did you require?

Based on retirement, yes. They wanted signed copies of the wife's ta bien bahn and ID and a confirmation that i live at her house, which they never asked before. They also wanted the bank statement stamped (only 3 month as i use the money in the bank method). I assume that i only got lucky to get the extension the same day, as i had been talking to the officer already (because the girls outside made a mess..). It seems, the thing with the appointment is only because of Covid.

  2. This week i went to IO Hat Yai to get the 90days report and visa extension done. When i arrived there, it was a bit strange. Near the old building, two or three dozen people waiting, most likely Burmese. In front of the new building under the tents - nobody. Two quiet young girls were outside. They said, 90days is ok, but for the extension i'd need an appointment now. Online not possible, i didn't ask about a phone call. But they went on to have a look at my papers. It was a bit confusing, as they didn't have a clue, what's needed and what  not. I had to disagree with them several times and after the third time when one of them went asking inside, an officer came out. Didn't now her too, haven't seen her before, but ok, discussed it, needed some more papers, which i've not been ask for before. I came back after the break at 1 pm and shortly after got called inside. Empty, just one European waiting there. About half an hour later i had my extension. While waiting inside, i've seen several persons outside being sent away. So if you need an extension in Hat Yai, be prepared, go well in advance. There was some special event, lots of high ranking officers around, so you will likely meet more experienced stuff/officers in front of the building at another day, but the need of an appointment seems to be for real.

Can anyone tell me how long Bangkok hospitals keep birth records? Trying to look for a brother that was born at Hospital.  He would be in his 50’s at this time.

Could be difficult. My wife, now 58, had lost her original birth certificate when we married more than 30 years ago. Neither the Amphoe nor the hospital in Yannawa district where she had been born could find any records. Give it a try though and good luck.

When you'll have to drive from North to South of LOS with a maximum speed of 90 km/hrs?

I'm sorry but 120-140 km hrs over a big distant is much more comfortable and have nothing to do with "so manny people in a hurry"

You are wrong. From North to South there aren't many roads where you can drive safely with 120 -140 km/h. Why don't you take a plane?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You can renew up to a year after the expiry date with no penalties. Wait for your extension, then do it.

Most DLT's will not renew an expired temporary (2 years) licence. The possibility of renewing the licence up to one year after the expiry date is only for the permanent (5 years) licence.

Unfortunately this is Chevrolet, and the story get's  better.

I  texted Chevrolet off their website I gave them the vin number, they said this  car is not  new, they said this  car has done 1000km and is a demonstrator vehicle. The dealer just told me this  car is new this  car has done 8km so why then  only 4  months  warranty, and how has the warranty started if the vehicle has never been registered and there is  no green  book yet.

Dealer  just sent me a photo of the mileage  attached....8km

Someone and I think we know  who is  telling very big  lies,  looking round at the dealers they also have some more old  stock there as dates on those were 2017 to 2019  year of manufacture.

And  NOW for the grand finale............... Chevrolet Thailand just sent me this  message, seems  like they havent a  clue what they are saying, the car is a  2017 but IS new and is NOT a demonstrator and DOES have a 3 year guarantee.

SOLD 499k baht Chevrolet LTZ Z71 top model X cab, old  list price 799k reduced when chevvy decided to quit to 599k and this  dealer  will do it for 499k, thats   great deal.

Sorry for the information that we told you previously. We are communicate with sale consultant staff name  xxxxxx of xxxxx dealership again for information about a car VIN. MMM142LM0JH619963, Mr,xxxxx told us that’s this car is a newest car with 9 miles and you will get warranty 3 years or 100,000 kms. whatever comes first after delivery date.

Good for you the deal is off. Besides the 8km shown in the picture is not the mileage of the car, it's how far the little bit of diesel will take you until the tank is totally empty..

A wai is no more grovelling than is a hand shake grovelling... not returning a wai is similar to holding out your hand and someone refuses to shake it.. it is the opposite of assimilating and is rude... no wonder you don't make friends...

No Kenk, the "Wai" is not the same as a handshake. If little children give you a "Wai", do you return it? If a cashier in the supermarket does "Wai" you, do you return it? Thais are taught to "yok mueh" even before they are learning to talk. It's similar to pronouncing the Thai language: i do speak Thai since more than 30 years and i am living with Thais (and Burmese) only, but i will never get rid of a certain "farang slang".

  9. I've got my first extension (retirement) here in Hat Yai two years ago. It took several hours and was under consideration until two officers came to visit - they called upfront. Last year it took about an hour and they said, that i had to wait for the officers visit again, as they had to do it every year now. After waiting for 3 weeks i went to the IO again, as our daughter was giving birth to her first child in Bkk and we wanted to be there. They gave me the stamp and reminded me, that the officers had to make their visit though. They never came. This year, i got the extension plus 90-days report done in less then 20 minutes and am looking forward to do it like this in the years coming. Lots of paperwork but very friendly IO's here.

The DLT offices still don't do any license renewals/extensions.

Offices are open for limited services only.

The amnesty has been extended until state of emergency ends or further notice.

The amnesty covers driving with expired license.

Even without the amnesty you have one full year after expiry without additional effort.

Just the usual eye/reaction test and probably watching video/lecture.

Up to one year after the expiry date is only for the 5-year licence, the 2-year licence can't be renewed after the expiry date (except corona regulations just now).

Sorry to upset you, but I DID put LOL, you know, laugh out loud, on my post. It was meant to be relatively funny as Yinn usually reacts to anything Rayong based.

Who are the 'sad ex-holders' you refert to please?

As far as i can remember, Yinn is from RaNong and not from Rayong..

Odd that any country in the tropics has a water shortage. Thailand gets 1651 mm of rain a year. That's 847 BILLION cubic metres of water a year.

So you think that everywhere in TH from Maesot to Betong it's the same amount of rain water and that this amount every year is exactly the same? Sure there could be done much more technically, but mother nature has her own rules too.

Thanks but have no card and over 2 years AGO had a monthly bill and they changed the system but always paid each month  by 7/11 by scanning a previus bar code but told this morning they do not provide this service anymore 3rd April

OP, they don't need to scan a bar code in 7/11, you just give them your 3bb member nummer (is written on your contract) and tell them that's your 3bb internet payement.

As visa can be done within several days/weeks of the actual date it would be extremely poor planning if a 24hr period effected that task in any way. It would only happen if you literally left it to the last minute and then got locked down, in which case, it would be your fault but would probably get the same 24hr amnesty from IO.

I think the OP didn't mean a one time 24hr lockdown, but rather a 24hr/day lockdown for 2 Weeks or 1 month or 2 month (like Wuhan).
