They do it from the date they process it, which is unfortunate for early birds.

My uni in Virginia is looking for alumni to represent the school at college fairs. They would like to increase international student enrollment. Has anyone been to these fairs in LOS, or better yet, represented their schools? Could there be work permit issues? Would you have to keep it a secret that your school hands out "Fs" like parking tickets? Could it be a good place to network?

I'd rather buy the police a box of hollow-points, than give the US Consulate 50 USD...at least someone might get what they deserve. I don't think a letter from the Consulate will work for a yellow book, which is why I got the Residency Letter in the first place.

I think we got about 5mm up by CMU.

Does yellow book state the you are the owner as well as occupant, if it is your condo? BTW, I got mine about a year ago, and it has come in handy several times. The Chinot was good for 3bb, but as others mentioned it opens up some banking opportunities.

I think the experienced managers are good about the reports to Immigration, and of course the Thais aren't working illegally. The rental tax seems to be an entirely different matter.

Some official in Phuket declared the practice most certainly illegal...I was thinking..tell that to turd-face.

You think so?Speaking of archaic, what about the British numbering system? Not even Bloomberg London uses it.
It seems pretty simple, and universally used to me. It starts at one, and the numbers follow in sequence pretty well as far as you want to go.
One might say - to coin a phrase - " to infinity and beyond! "
I'm talking about the confusing ways they use million, billion, trillion, etc..I guess if you're born a "commoner" in England, you have no business learning large numbers.
It appears they officially adopted the US system in 1974, but it still causes confusion.

I'm doing my extension on the 22, when my 90 report is due, however, just being a fan of KISS (Keep It Simple....); I mailed the 90 today, 37thb for EMS outbound, and 16thb registered return. If it eases my extension by even 10%, it is well worth it. We'll see if they give me a new date, 90 days from my extension date.

there is a good chance you will be facilitating someone, who is not in compliance with Immigration rules, Tax rules, and labor rules with Airbnb, but why rent something staring you in the face, when you can use your smartphone App.

I thought this thread was abour bar closing times not the price of flights? The thread has been hijacked!
He wants to get a flight so that he can go to the bars which close at 12PM
now they are closing at noon? I'll have to start drinking before I get out of bed.

but it would still involve another round in the que...like those doing the re-entry on the same visit as extension.

It's easy to get out of sync, too. Since they seem to date it 90 days from when they receive it, and technically mail is suppose to be 15 days before, but people have been successful at pushing that envelope...and you can't find out if electronic will work until within 15 days, so technically, it is already too late to mail.
-
but you stated "the date that you do your extension"...which is different than the due date....mail is easier, but I could easily do the extension in the 15 day before window....but my question would be does that require the form and copies?
-
If you have not left the country, the due date of your fourth ninety-day report should come within five days of your extension of stay and immigration considers completing the first extension of stay to be equivalent to doing a ninety-day report. If the due date of your ninety-day report does not coincide within 7 days prior to or within fifteen days after the date that you do your extension, you must report your presence in the kingdom for ninety days separately. Personally, I always report by mail. Saves a trip.
90 is due 17 days before extension. So it sounds like I just do my extension before the 90 is due and I won't need to file the papers...correct? Otherwise, I will do 90 by mail first, and that is easier than even already being at Immigration.

It is more like 180, now. It was 120 in 2004. Walk 800 meters to the intersection of Maejo and 108 and jump on a yellow songtaew...will take you to the south side of the moat for 10 thb. It's been about perfect weather for walking, lately. A red songtaew, dropping people off, will take you for 100 thb. from the airport, and if you flag one down from the road 60-80......I paid 200 to CMU in May, but I had 50 KG of stuff, and it was after midnight. If I'm coming back from a few days in BKK, I will get home for 30 thb.

LG overstated the EER on a bunch of units in America..they settled with every buyer. Sure enough, Highest EER at Siam TV is on an LG. at about 20. I'm leery, although my Indonesian made LG refrigerator serves a colder beer than any bar in the Province. Almost bought an LG 32" TV until I heard the sound, but Samsung says up to five dead pixels is normal. Did you buy at Siam? HomePro did my neighbors and did a great job, but that can depend on the install team.

I'm leaning towards an 18,000 BTU inverter unit. Would prefer Panasonic or Carrier....although Samsung has a pretty big market share. Any suggestions on anyone with off-season promos?

Apparently, things have changed a lot since October..hopefully for the better. There seems to have been a period, when no agent=no extension.

A bigger problem is that many tourists can't navigate motorcycles, period, and they sure did pick a strange place to practice. If I ever go to CNX and don't see a short term tourist, who was obviously in a motorcycle accident; it will be a first.

I got a free one in January at the building across the highway, and yes the guy was a dick.

I spent several weeks by UDRU in 2012. Got up with jet-lag on a Saturday morning at 6am, took a walk around, and there were still many students working on Large Changs. 2 hours=800 THB with one of them, but of course, I would never "pay for it," bwaahaha. I see them up at all hours around CMU, but nothing like that. I think we consumed 5 X the alcohol per student at my Uni, when the age was 18, compared to the CMU students. It is challenging academically, and most of them seem to really be "on the go." Overall, very nice, well-mannered bunch.

I agree, the terminology is very convoluted and subject to misinterpretation. You're saying I don't have an actual visa anymore but only extending my stay? That's news to me. What a crazy system. Okay, so apparently what I did was secure an an extension of stay based on Retirement. The one governed by form TM 7. I'm glad we guests don't have to pass a quiz about Thai visa rules every time we apply for an extension.
What if you had gotten there at 10am? Did you see anyone get turned away? BTW, thanks for the helpful report. The airport office would have been so much more convenient, and I even put my money in banks at AP Plaza in case they decided I needed to return to my bank. Not to mention things taking two steps backwards after the move.

Yes, I got my passport translated, and showed her the Chinot, so she would translate it the same way. I see the 13 digit number in the YB, but that is different than my tax id number. Is that something I should address? Tax ID is 13 digits, but starts with a "0."
