We like to buy "whole wheat" bread from a bakery for 100B for a small loaf. We toast it up and put orange marmalade or Black sesame paste on it. Delicious. But is it 100% whole wheat? Of course not. Have you ever made 100% ww bread yourself? Mine was hard as a rock the next day. Similar to the "authentic" WW bread I bought in Mae Naam on Samui. Hard as a rock after a day or two. Totally inedible. C'mon. Why would you want that? Eat chia seeds for fiber. Or even inulin. Recent research indicates even cheap inulin improves cognitive function in over 60s. Fiber is the answer not making bread loaves that are as hard as a door stop after a day or two. π

Democracy in America has been corrupted to serve only the Rich and the Poor, abandoning the Middle Class for decades. No Free college tuition, no free preschool daycare, no free healthcare, no security in jobs can be fired for any reason or no reason at all; and no affordable housing. Even restaurants and hotels have gotten so expensive, a Middle Class person can't afford to go out or take vacations anymore. Who's responsibility is this? Republicans and Democrats. By voting for a Republican, you ain't going to change that. Billionaires are going to get richer. You ain't a Billionaire. You're just Middle Class. Do you think Donald Trump is really going to help you? Do you know what Donald Trump really thinks about the Middle Class? "Losers" You got a rough time ahead, Bubba. Education is expensive, and you're about to get educated in the coming 4 years that in Trump's eyes you're just a dirty peasant--whether you like it or not. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. π

Top Trending EV Cars in Thailand
SiSePuede419 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I see lots of EV cars in Chiang Rai. Their popularity has exploded in the past 2 years. But during the recent flooding in October when there was standing water in certain areas for a few days, did not see one EV car going through the floodwater. My wife's cousin came to rescue us after we took a BOAT out of our house (no electric, no water) to take us to a hotel in a Yaris. A Yaris was a better vehicle in a flood than any EV car* A Yaris. π *I'm a EE who worked for an EV startup in Silicon Valley, so I know what I am talking about unlike some of the Chinese salespeople here sprouting off talking points -
Sukhumvit Nightlife: Whoβs Keeping It Alive?

I stayed in Nana just so I could get a balcony to smoke weed. Nice hotel reasonably priced. But I never went to Nana entertainment plaza. Don't drink like a fish. But I did meet one bloke at the hotel as I went to pick up some things at 7. He stayed there 4 times. He's definitely enjoying the "night life". For me, I'd rather stay at a hotel near Phaya Thai station. Closer to the airport. Better for business people who fly international for business, like me. But my preferred hotel was full. Ciao, bambinos. π£ -
1. Why are these women's skin color ORANGE 2. Up skirting? Is he using a camera built into his shoe? If the camera is at face height even if he's sitting down it's called ZOOM. Is zooming in on some girl sitting at a table with a too short skirt with her legs spread and no panties illegal? Why? Going commando was the girls choice not his. Besides,I doubt Manc girls shave down there. Probably looks like they're smuggling seaweed. C'mon. Grow up mates. No harm, no foul. π

Thai Police Seize 90 Smuggled Goats Near Myanmar Border
SiSePuede419 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nah. You were in Africa which has the most bland cuisine in the world. I ate "cabrito" in Ft Worth once decades ago. Theoretically, "cabrito" is meat from a young goat, typically weighing 6β8 kg. Cabrito is a delicacy in northern Mexico. But wait. Goat has less protein and fat than beef. It doesn't taste as good as beef. Or lamb. I've had (male) lamb stew in Boston (at a dive bar) and a party in New Mexico. Delicious. Goat? No. Just no. π -

Consumer injured by glass in spaghetti at Thai pizza chain

You mean the one that puts a yoga mat softener ingredient in its donuts to keep them soft and spongy instead of dry and hard as they age? Yeah, Subway Sandwich chain in America got caught putting that ingredient into its bread a few years ago. You can tell because it has a unique "mouth feel". π -

Scottish holidaymakerβs scooter disaster in Koh Pha Ngan
SiSePuede419 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Someone rear-ended my wife's car yesterday when she stopped for a traffic light. Motorcycle, no helmet, no driver's license, no insurance. He asked how much the damage would cost. Our insurance company estimated 10,000B because it involved 3 panels. He said he was an assistant at a street food stall. Now how long will it take for him to save that much on his salary minus expenses? Infinity, no doubt. My wife said she tried to help him and told him to call the insurance company and tell them he has very little money. And yup, Scottish Bro had you rented one of the used cars from the Russian entrepreneurs on the island, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Their insurance on the rental car is full coverage and they do the work themselves. π -
Causes of High Electricity Bills in Thai Apartments

A cheap ass French guy rented me a 2br, 2 bath villa with only a tiny ass air conditioner and two fans in each bedroom. We had it set on 18 but it was too weak to cool the whole villa. I complained but he was a rude French guy who said just turn on the fan. In the hot season? Go <deleted> yourself you cheese eating surrender monkey. No way was one tiny AC big enough for an entire villa. What a cheap <deleted>. Wasn't even his villa. We got the phone number of the lady who owns the land. We will rent a villa from the Thai lady next time for less money and use the same pool. Will be great to see Frenchie and give him the old American one finger salute from the pool next year, if I don't find a better dump. π -
Is it as good as Bestia in Downtown LA? Husband and wife restaurant, neither are Italian. Best Italian food in LA. Went there 8 years after it opened to get a walk-in seat at the bar right when it opened at 5pm. I must have got there around 4:40, early. Already 30 people waiting in line. The place holds 300. Open 365 days a year. Every dish a masterpiece. Nothing bad on the menu. Great pizza too. But not as good as Roberta's from Brooklyn. Also, not Italian owners Looking for an "Italian" restaurant in Thailand that is equal or better. Already tried a dozen or two. Nope. Haven't found one yet. Not even with a real Italian guy working the door. Or the master chef at a $150 tasting menu place in Bangkok. Not even close. π

Thai housemaidβs 100 million baht fortune hits a legal snag

Approximately 93-94% of estates in the UK fall below the Β£325,000 threshold and therefore do not pay any Inheritance Tax. Only about 6-7% of estates exceed the threshold and are liable for inheritance tax. Why would you <deleted> be concerned with Inheritance tax? π€£ -
Thai housemaidβs 100 million baht fortune hits a legal snag
SiSePuede419 replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
Absolutely Absolute...Twaddle. π BZZZZZZ. Inheritance tax takes SOME--NOT ALL money from the LIVING survivors. The moral value behind inheritance tax often stems from principles of equity, social justice, and economic fairness. Hereβs a breakdown of its moral foundations: 1. Redistribution of Wealth: Inheritance tax can help reduce economic inequality by redistributing wealth from those who inherit large fortunes to fund public goods and services. The idea is that no one should gain undue advantage merely by birthright. 2. Meritocracy: Inheritance tax aligns with the belief that people should succeed based on their abilities and efforts rather than unearned wealth. It encourages individuals to build their own achievements instead of relying on inherited privilege. 3. Social Responsibility: Those who inherit significant wealth benefit from societal systems (e.g., legal protections, infrastructure, and education) that enabled their predecessors to accumulate that wealth. Inheritance tax ensures that a portion of this wealth is returned to support the community. 4. Preventing Dynastic Wealth: Without inheritance tax, wealth can become concentrated within a small group of families across generations, perpetuating class divides and limiting social mobility. 5. Equality of Opportunity: By channeling tax revenues into education, healthcare, and other public services, inheritance tax can create opportunities for those who did not inherit wealth, fostering a fairer society. -
