I guess the Thai Tourist Authority will never learn! Rich tourists have no interest in Thailand. They prefer Europe and the Riviera. They expect amenities that Thailand does not normally offer such a clean streets, clean beaches, etc.
Every time I tell my friends back home that I retired in Thailand they just say yuck! Singapore is so much cleaner if you must go to Asia. They carry on about Paris, London, Rome, Berlin, etc. The wealthy don't worry about corona virus as they stay amongst there own and not the dirty crowd.

Hillary's unpopularity.Yes Hillary was so unpopular that she beat Trump by over 3,000,000 votes. Trump only won the election via the archaic electoral college. That seems to be about the only any Republican will win anymore!

"Do you get the impression that the Supreme Court doesn't like me?" Trump asked on Twitter on Thursday.
It always has to be about Trump! He invents new policies and regulations without precedence just to cater to his arch-conservative base and then wonders why almost all of them are thrown out in court. The American constitution was designed to slow down the lawmaking process. Trump's impatience just results in one bad policy or regulation after another. There are checks and balances regardless of who sits in the Oval Office.

He said she called him a rapist and accused him of raping her 10-year-old daughter, when in reality the crime had been committed by her boyfriend.
It seems that child rape is ubiquitous in Thailand. If not the father, brother or grandfather it is an uncle or mother's boyfriend. Just about once a month these stories appear although I am sure that most are never uncovered.
What is it about Thai culture that allows this to happen so much?

The UK will eventually figure out that it is in their best interests to get along with the EU. The vast majority of their trade is with the EU. Did the UK really think that they have so much clout that they can run roughshod over the EU? I think they will soon find out that they will be marginalized.

I find it to be very unusual to basically provide low cost housing but only for civil servants. Is it an expectation in Thailand that government workers are to be provided with housing?

QuoteU.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he would shift the date of an Oklahoma rally from June 19th, the date of the "Juneteenth" holiday, to June 20th out of respect for a day commemorating the end of U.S. slavery.
Trump has absolutely no respect for African Americans and less than 7% voted for him in 2016 according to his press secretary Barbie. However, he was forced to listen to fellow arch conservatives from the south who think they have a better chance to pick up African American votes.

The problem with peaceful protest is that there is always a minority of hard core criminals who take advantage. The protesters are almost exclusively peaceful citizens. Sadly anytime anyone protests they are lumped together with the criminals that take advantage. The police do not discriminate between real criminals and protesters most of the time. Of course, they are encouraged to knock heads and take control by the conservatives. There is really no way to separate peaceful protesters from the criminal element that will take advantage. The first amendment guarantees the right to right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
SInce there are real grievances there are going to be protesters in our future. We need to properly train the police to discriminate between peaceful protesters and criminals before any head bashing is done!

Trump knows that 99% of his voters are located in the south or sympathize with secession. I was watching Mississippi Burning last night and the typical Trump voters were there in all their glory!

Yes, after they accost the farang(Thais get a gentle warning) they will tell them the rules in Thai and probably ask for a 1000bt fine. Going to the beach is such a hassle that it is no longer enjoyable.

And that's not all, the report is full of "anomalies", such as:
According to the American Dental Association, there are just over 200,000 dentists in the US. So how surprising it must be that at a time (as a reminder the survey week was from May 10th through May 16th) when most dental offices across the US were still shuttered (and in places like California they still are), a record 245K dentist office jobs were added, effectively undoing half of all the April job losses in this job category.
This is probably the most highly massaged job report in History... 100% BS!
ANy information coming from the Trump administration is always suspect. Trump is not the only one in his administration that lies before reporting the truth!
The USA is in a sad state!

So, how does one swim at the beach while wearing a mask? I really do not care since the waters are too polluted for me but new tourists will need to know all of the rules before the local police start rounding them up.

The smell of urine and vomit will always be there. I think there is no way in hell that any of this will happen. Walking Street is not a "mall".

Its all a misunderstanding with the woman now praising the police for their co-operation during said unfortunate misunderstanding. Smiling photos to follow.
So, when will the Thai police ban body cameras? I suspect that the lady in question will be prosecuted and sent to jail. The officers will be sent to another province.
I do think that the video should be posted to social media so that these officers can be recognized for their work!

Trailing in the polls, Trump has decided to encourage his arc-conservative radicals to try to intimidate the protesters. Of course, they are unlikely to be intimidated so there will be bloodshed. Now Trump can be a hero by launching the military on the protesters to re-establish order. Sadly, for Trump, this is completely obvious to anyone who was alive in the late 60's and early 70's when Richard Nixon used the same agenda.
I am sincerely concerned that anyone not related to Trump could ever vote for him!

Why would any foreign leaders other than Putin and his good buddy Kim Jong-un want to meet with Trump?
As Putin's puppy his task was to trash all of our alliances and pull back from world leadership! Trump has done all of this using his usual charm!
Trump will be hailed as a Hero of the Soviet Union in Russia!

That "punishment from God" is currently ravaging the Muslim states like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia and Iran with more to come. So I guess that Allah is very unhappy with his Muslim believers too.

If I lived in Hong Kong I would have to find a way, any way to leave! The Thatcher government had the option to issue passports to Hong Kong citizens before the lease ended but racism ended that idea. Frankly there was nothing else of substance that the UK could do to solve the problem.
China will take back everything they think used to belong to them centuries ago. Technically that includes Korea.

The "deep state" as defined by Trump is any civil service personnel who do not agree with him wholeheartedly and jump through his hoops. He would prefer to do away with the civil service and have a government consisting entirely of his own appointees. This was once the case with the US government. However the practice led to so much corruption that the American public rebelled and elected reformers to eliminate the practice.
I suspect that the civil service is pretty evenly split between Republicans and Democrats and their is whistleblower protection so those that report corruption to the authorities. This is the very legislation that Trump abhors and rails against! Eventually, he will so nauseate the American public that he will not win re-election. The famous "swamp" he complains about is mostly his appointees. So far he has fertilized and sown the swamp to the point it can no longer be ignored. I suspect that he has an orange suit in his future!

U.S. Senate police reform vote fails as Democrats reject Republican bill
in World News
Posted
Republicans warn that the Democratic bill could undermine law enforcement, in part because it would remove qualified immunity protections for police and allow victims of misconduct to sue for damages.
As if any reform is going to happen without allowing victims of misconduct to sue for damages?
