The only pardons, I care about are going to be all of the last minute pardons before he leaves office. Everyone knows that his entire swamp wil need pardons!

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
This headline says it all. Please allow me to translate. Quality means wealthy! Quantity means Chinese and Indian tourists.
Given the greed prevalent in Thai society, I sincerely doubt that they will give up quantity no matter how much damage it may cause to Thai society and the environment.
The wealthy, in general, prefer Paris and London where the amenities they seek are widespread. ANy focus on attracting the wealthy to Thailand will be money wasted.

This is nothing more than a step backwards for science. There is at least a 50-50 chance it will work with no side effects. The Russian phase 3 trial will cover millions of people. Here's hoping it works.

The strong baht hits Thailand's exports at a time when tourism is at rock bottom. They are encouraging purchasing outside the country when they need local employment.
Eventually they will convert a third world country to an impoverished fourth world country.

It’s a surprisingly small team with only only two accredited British diplomats. The Americans have loads of accredited US diplomats in their consular section.
And yet, the American team cannot find the time or resources to do something as simple as link Social Security to passports so they can easily verify income.
The American diplomatic corps is useless and their primary effort is to kiss the bums of the current rulers while offering little if any help to their citizens. I doubt that there will be any meetings with US embassy staff in the future.
Best of luck with the British embassy staff!

Why do I suspect that the USA will see the same?

The rationale behind dual pricing is that Thai's are poor and farangs are wealthy. From the Bangkok automobiles I have seen in Pattaya lately, I contest the fact that Thai travelers are poor! Dual pricing is just a way to get farangs to subsidize all of the attractions. I refuse to go to any venue that has dual pricing.
With all of the hassle that we have with immigration, I doubt that there are many who will respond to this appeal. The expats have been here all along and basically ignored and discriminated against.
I doubt that the expats can or will save Thailand's tourism industry. I wonder every day what the bloated immigration offices are doing every day during the tourism drought? Perhaps they are sorting through the warehouses full of useless and redundant documentation they have been collecting.

Thailand has been very fortunate, to date! Until there is a widely available vaccine, there should not be any tourism anywhere in the world. Asking Thais to give up their grandparents for the sake of tourism is not really an option. My children in Texas (USA) are in fear every day!

Trump and Moscow Mitch got exactly the result they wanted. The Republicans did not favor any extension of benefits but they did want to blame the Democrats for delaying the process.

Best of luck to Big Joke. I would not want him in charge of immigration again but he seems to be a rare honest policeman.

As a southerner, I know that the confederate battle flag is very popular with whites, particularly young men of beer drinking age. I also know that it is very offensive to the black community. I think it is proper that we should understand their concern with the flag. It is not cancel culture but just good sense and manners not to offend your neighbors!

I assume that the vast majority of the Thai's that were polled are government workers in Bangkok! Those dependant on tourism for their livelihood are rarely found in government offices.

Trump is seeking a scapegoat for his pitiful response to the corona virus pandemic. Dr. Fauci has been selected as the fall guy for everything that Trump did wrong. I doubt that Trump will come out of this smelling like roses as he hopes!

I suspect that the half that don't want foreigners to return are the portion of Thais that have government jobs! Of course, they will never lay off the excess Immigration staff that have nothing to do anymore! Those that rely on the brown envelopes will also have nothing to do.
The rest of the Thais do not matter anyway! That is why Thaksin was so popular!

I guess this is the final nail for those who believe that Trump is not racist! He has constantly harassed immigrants and is a blatant xenophobe! Of course, this eventually will result in a quid pro quo which will lead to the constant harassment of ex-pats. I guess he will never learn that there are consequences for American citizens with every act he takes against foreigners.

I often wonder why everyone labels every decision that Trump disagrees with as political correctness? PC is bandied about about everything to the point that it is a useless term. No one is forcing the Washington football team to change it's name. Like every other business, they will decide on a name change if it enhances their profitability. Trump butts into everyone's business every day to the point that he has alienated everyone besides the rednecks, arch-conservative Christians, and ultra wealthy to whom he lavishly caters.

Memories! I used to own one of these jewels. A great ride with good power. Was the perfect bike for the hills of New Hampshire.

I am assuming that the Thais will now have to pay the farang price of 500 baht. It is a very overpriced attraction at that.

LMAO! Trump does not care what anyone says! His second term would be a replay of the first, except worse!

Thais think it is their right to screw the rich and wealthy foreigners! They will never give it up!

I believe that Trump did not hear anything about the bounties. He has never listened to his intelligence agencies! He prefers to create conspiracy theories about the Democrats and plans for his reelection.

I suspect that there will be no deal and the EU will treat the UK pretty much like an alien. Passports all around, tariffs too. The UK economy is going to take a huge self-inflicted hit!

If Thailand wants to hide the sex trade under the carpet it will have to be a huge carpet. I suspect it would qualify as the highest point in Thailand if all the girls (and boys) participating in the sex trade were stacked up under the carpet.

Facebook to block news on Australian sites after new law, riling lawmakers
in World News

Bridget Fair, chief executive of Free TV Australia, a lobby group for free-to-air broadcasters, said Facebook's plan amounted to "bullying" and that the U.S. firm would "say and do anything to avoid making a fair payment for news content".
I am mystified by all this nonsense. Australia's attempt to monetize Facebook when they are not a News site makes no sense. It is entirely within Facebook's rights to ban news from any source. Australia should tax their citizens if they need additional revenue.
