  1. Gov just announced the 3 month extension of the emergency rule.

have come down to cha-am from udon , for the sea air .

and both places are feeling the drastic downturn in the tourist economy .

the good news , i have negotiated good accomodation discount rates .

and i only pay 1000bht , for scooter hire , for one week .

i hope the economic downturn continues ..

  2. What I don't get is, what's the maths behind 24 minuets. I mean it could simpler number like 20 minutes or 25 minutes. Second thing that comes to mind, what if, like at McDonalds, they are late? What is the prize? Bonus?

another puss of useless info .

last week , my transit via MUMBAI ,took 42 minutes ..set my stop watch .

are these two numerical digists , the only ones they know ..

  3. I agree with Geriatrickid...Wai Kru is an egotistical display of nothingness.

Nonetheless, I feel that western education would benefit from understanding this Thai ceremony.

wow , you are really out of touch , with western students, you would be laughed at , hilarious.

p.s. whats the point of the next generation of rice farmers ,

    having ,,, err degrees .{bad joke}

what a waste of a good tree. kap

  4. From the conversation I could hear that the young man had in some way molested or tried to molest a underage girl in the village. The officer proceeded to give him a very loud scolding and sent them packing home again.

if found guilty , which NO doubt they will ,

they deservere the ultimate penalty .

the pimps / families involved , are probably still involved in trading young children .

no trials / punishment for them . this is the bigest worry.

that said , if these were thai men ,it would not have made the headlines.

it was not uncommon in rural areas , for young girls virginity , to be taken by male family relatives .

maybe it is not looked upon as revolting , as we regard it .

  5. Q : Should the charge of terrorism refer only to actual attacks?

No, because that would be against the Criminal Code. Any attempt to overthrow the government constitutes a terrorist act, according to the law.

If this is the law, shouldn't the leaders of the 2006 coup be charged with terrorism?

NO, because that was a differnt goverment .

    the plot thickens .

  6. [

I think treatment in a secure mental hospital is needed for these people as they are obviously mentally ill. In the picture they all look to be very old, usually a reduction of libido goes with an increasing age so there must be something very wrong with them. I don't think vengance really helps anyone including the victims. If treatment worked and they were no longer a threat to society maybe they could be rehabilitated and later released. Putting them in jail for years just wastes money and doesnt really achieve much.

    KRAPP,

sounds like the type of speel , expected from a socialogist , who has led a protected life .

would you be happy if ,after they served their sentance , they were re-housed , next door to you .

  7. my Thai neighbor spent 17 years in the US and holds both US Citizenship as well as Thai… she also receives the US Social Security income benefits from her dead husband… what a deal!

    brilliant deal ,

just the type of lady , i want to meet, a good lady .

maybe , the deceased left her a house and car , a good man .

BTT , if you do not plan to return to your country of origin ,to pop your clogs .

IMO , farang would be better cared for , if had thai citisenship ,

and a happy ending in LOS.

  8. I have nothing but praise for Jet Airways. The service, the in-flight entertainment, the modern state of the air-crafts, the food and the generous baggage allowance - 28KG - for economy.

The only drawback, which is out of the hands of Jet Airways is the security check at Mumbai airport whilst in transit. Security guards are rude, lazy, non-caring and totally disorganised

i totally agree with the above ,

    jet , no complaints .

    mumbai ,,, dis-organised , is an understatement .

    i was standing in a queue , for 20 minutes , then

they moved me into another queue .

  9. 2000 for short time... she can't have been from Isaan...

things are going up in isaan ,

including S/T,, prices . cos the number of punters is way down .

    BTT..

i hope you have been educated ,,

do not gat married again .

  10. Yeah if it gets too dreadful, they can always change the rules on us! It's year to year, don't forget that.

yep , i totally agree ,, we are visitors in LOS .allways will be.

the thai people , and whatever goverments in power ,

are very protective , of their national identity ,

and do not want foreign intrusion .

    it,s like builing a house on a swanp .

    no long term stability ..

  11. If he did do this at 72 yrs of age he must have done this god knows how many times before ... in cases like this they should check with his home country to see if he has done this before and use this evidence in court against him.

    i think ,,,

if you are on the sex offenders registar in the u.k.

the chip on the new passports , would contain this information .

imo , child sex offenders , should not have a pssport .

if you are a regular male visitor to cambodia ,

this can brought to the attention of the child protection agency .

  12. i know of a good looking middle aged, poor farang in udon . lucky bstd

who is living with a thai lady ,

her elderly husband, originally from the u.k. popped his clogs .

    leaving her , a good income , house , car etc ..

and the really good news , no sprogs in tow .

    i am patiently waiting ,

there,s a few well off old farangs up here , in gods waiting room .

waiting , for the final bell.

to quote the good book ,,, three score and ten ..
